@Vickramjason Topology refers to the layout of the polygons. Very dense meshes like detailed sculptures are not practical to use for animation so, like in this video, you build new polygons, or topology, on top of it. Thus, retopology.
I definitely like the way this program retops. I'll be getting this instead and using my older version of zbrush alongside it. Was really cool as already mentioned how you can draw in lines to cover bigger area's faster.
@x900lbGorillax1 if you want speed look at the auto-retopo "autopo" tools. Of course you should take a look at the sculpting and texturing tools too if you want real power.
Hey dude I'm really loving this autoretopology, I'm having serious problems though when I export it. It retopologises fine but when I go to export it, I try to export it as a low-poly mesh .obj file and when I import this file to 3dsMax it treats all the quads that 3dcoat made as Tri's and retains virtually none of the edge flow as if it wasn't even retopologised at all.If theres any knack to exporting just the retopology frame of polygons or this is just a common problem please let me know! :p
It looks like up top it says 3d coat? Is that the program you did the retopo with? It seems pretty intuitive, I liked how you were able to draw or lay down lines to block out large parts of the topology/model. Nice model by the way.
Yes you may notice that most of my videos are done with 3D-Coat. It's a really great program for sculpting and texturing (and retopo) and is much cheaper than the competition.
what is topology and retopology??
im new in 3D, please do help.
why do we need it??

Neat. Looks like it functions almost the same as Topogun.
