  • you need atleast 2 years experience to find a job

  • @BLACKBEAUTY8989

How does one then get experience? It's a catch 22 purposefully invented to lock out people just starting up.

  • here's the scoop on working in radiology(diagnostic, ct, mri, etc.) no one grows up wanting to do this job. a few years ago, there was a huge need in radiology so college grads like me jumped on it. it's ok money and job security. otherwise, your patients are a bunch of goofballs that stink, are overweight, and can't move themselves. not very rewarding work. some nerds think we make a difference. all we do is take some pictures and let someone that makes 350,000 bucks a year read the pics.

  • How long was the schooling for this and where do you start??

  • theres no more jobs

  • @jmc647 where r u from

i am interested in this career but i am feeling a little discouraged by reading this...

  • @MsBeautyone i'm in charlotte, nc. it's not all it seems to be. it's getting harder and harder to get a job in this field. super competitive. if i were you, i would look into nursing. more jobs. radiology itself isn't hard. moving big fat people around is.

  • @jmc647 how much do u get paid a year?

  • @Melo15xSTAT1 i work 12's on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, so I get a weekend differential and 2nd shift differential. that brings me up to around $55,000 a year. i also have a part time job doing scans at an outpatient office and that brings me up to roughly $71,000. lots of 60 hour weeks to get that money.

  • @jmc647 how many years did it take u to become one?

  • let me also say there are many oprotunities to cross train into ct, mri, or other modalities depending on where you work, once you are in the field, and although there are not as many jobs out there, you can find one and go from there. One omre thing, technically htere are a couple of math formulas they teach you, there easy, and anyone can do them, AND you NEVER use them. they are irrelevant. and they may acount for maybe two questions on one test. out of the whole two years your in school.

  • like said before an x-ray technologist is a two year associates degree program at a community college with on the job training, these people take x-rays, a radiologist is a doctor who reads and diagnoses diseases by the films a tecnologist takes. a technician is someone who repairs the equipment and i cant stand it when these people call technologist, technicians. you dont need any math especially not algebra, but, they made me take it as part of the program.

  • Radiologist is first a doctor so figure 10-12 years in a university. Technologist go to collage or a university 2-4 years. Don't study something for the money do it because you like it.

  • The math in required is algebra. There are websites that sharpen your math skills and test you. This should suffice if you are a highschool graduate.

  • As opposed to a couple of years ago,THERE ARE NO JOBS!! This market has been saturated by schools like this... marketing this field to make more money. Really research this job market before you sign up for X ray school

  • does this require a lot of math?? do you have to go to college or can you go to a tech school?? please someone let me know

    msn: honeybunn08

p.s. if you know about Ultrasound too please let me know :)

  • it's seem like u got the same problem with me..i hate math--but from what i know u don't have to know math..i would like to do it 2.also u don't have to go to college,, yes tech or private school offer it..n sum school offer da shit for 6 months the tech also.but am thinkin about pharmacy tech da shit seem like u have to deal wit math...n i don't wish 1 got more money, n wish one i can find a job..quicker ater graduate from school..

  • Its pretty easy math...Ill tell you anything you need to know. Im in school right now and I am horrible at math and I can do it easily.

  • I'm very interested in this career could you plz tell me how the job market is? I have to do a tech school so I'll be paying for my education 4 like ever! the career fascinates me though. How was the math?

  • I"M FROM HAMMOND,LA N WANNA DO THIS ...but what is the difference and pay of a radiologist and x-ray tech...and the medical school in hammond cost like 2,000 dollars a semister..what do i do.?? and they dont take grants....

  • how's the pay?

  • radiologist is between 200 to 500k so its real good well thats how it is in canada

  • wow great video
