How well did this game sell, i dont know anyone with an snes who didnt have this game. I probably had about 3 copies in my life they were like in every 2nd hand store as a kid :D

I remember how happy i was a few yrs ago when i found a Final Fantasy 3 and Chrono Trigger game at a 2nd for only 3 bucks each.

Still have my snes and gotta say it lasted longer than my ps1,gamecube and my yr old 360.

fuck, this game wasnt hard but it was fucked up when you got to Coco Island and there was that level that spun you around if you didnt get the right exit. I didn't know back then that the colors told you how many exits. Dont know if that was in the manual. Still, man they just show everything except the star world. Even show Bowser at the end.

@Lespegrot They got this gameplay from a debug beta, The map is all unlocked in this version, the trails just come through if you beat one of the levels, even though you can just walk over them. if you look at the title screen, it has in small letters, "Super Mario Bros (4)" so you can tell this is not the version we saw when it was released.

During that time Super Mario World wasn't as good as Nintendo thought, Sonic was also very popular back then, Besides uzimakishadow you bitch, I did also like the series back then before the one now. This game was my favorite Mario game besides Super Mario Galaxy but I like Sonic back then than it is now. Besides, if Sonic wasn't such such a popular game the series wouldn't exist.

If you're going by sales, SMW by itself outsold Sonic 1 & 2 by double the sales.

SMW came bundled with the SNES . Those bundles count toward overall sales.

For a while, Sonic 1 was bundled with the Sega Genesis as well. And was shipped into 15 million homes. But they don't count those towards the sales. Go watch Gametap's Sonic Retrospective.
