I love this man's music. Incredibly underrated. His greatest hits CD is a must have for cancon lovers / collectors. Ian Thomas is one of Canada's best songwriters.
i saw Ian at the Coronet as well. Cold, cold night early 1979. Too young to legally drink. Ian put on a good show. Never forget that night; gas line on the car froze, impressed the my date real well.
I had this song running through my head esp. the bass line after Stampede midway crazy rides, forgot about this for a long time though I had this LP got lost in a fire long time ago thank you so much for posting !!!
I know the drummer. Mike is the guy in the black shirt. I was listening to Levity on day and he knocked on my door. He asked me if this was the new Ian Thomas. (End of the 80's). I said yes and then he told me who he was. He was my next door neighbor. I know he played with the Lulu's band. Nice guy. Nice sappy song, makes me think of all the women who messed me up.
I saw the Ian Thomas band with Max Webster{Mutiny up my sleeve} and Rush during the{a Farewell to Kings} tour. I remember my brother saying after that he was so stoned and Ian Thomas was so good that he wished that they would get off the stage, try to figure that out. I know what he meant though. They finished with I really love you. It was incredible.
i remember when this son first came out on 1050 CHUM... i fell in love with it and still play it ...i even had the 45 of this... its was such a good slow dance song back in the 70's i was 17 yrs old....
I'm 22 and have this LP' you guys that actually got to see them live are the last generation to have real musical taste' plus I'm a Kitchener native and those posts are interesting thx
Didn't see him at the Coronet, but did see Toronto there. Great Show. Saw Ian at Mingles in London. He's such an awesome talent and we talked to him between sets. He was so easy going with the audience.
When I lived in Toronto at 18 yrs. old me & my friends would also go to the coronet, and the little town just outside of Kitchener, seen them in Windsor (my hometown), also Chatham Ont. at the Octoberfest in Kitchener. A true Ian Thomas Groupie. Have also seen him with the Boomer's, Lunch @ Allen's. He's truly a great Canadian writer & musician.
I also spent many Friday/Saturday nights at the Coronet in Kitchener, all the gals from t1978-1979 Conestoga College, we were all Ian Thomas Groupies. Ian always loved to pick someone out of the audience to make fun of and he loved to heckell with audience members, those were the good old days. We love you Ian
I bought this album for ten cents in 1985 and it was a good album, I played it alot. Wow I remember this..
