it's ok. he has this tendency to start each pitch tentatively....the fwa-fwa effect. it seems he doesn't have a clear conception of the note before he plays it & relies on muscle-memory.
might be good to practice clear & hard articulation on tonic-third-fifth patterns.
(& yeah, i know all about sackbuts' resistance idiosyncracies: i played them for years.)
if one discards his hair & affectations, one is left with ......eh.
@1jondee I would love to listen to your recordings and read all your scholarly writings as you seem to have mastered pooping on a fine performance by a fantastic player. Your command of speaking out your ass is top notch and your ability to instruct is not too far behind.
If you had attended a concert of Mr. Attema's, would you say those remarks to him afterwards? If you would, then you sir, are a jackass. If not then, you are a wanna-be-trombone-intellectual and coward.
