i always used the megaton hammer. beating the fire temple first (which technically is out of order) gives you the hammer, which dark link doesn't have, and does major damage. otherwise just use the biggorons sword. the method laid out in the vid is a tremendous waste of time lol.

The set-up takes only 3 seconds if you back-walk across the first patch of quicksand (since you "need" to beat the spirit temple anyway) rather than use Bottle Adventure to get the Longshot. I didn't do that in this video though because I thought learning how to backwalk across would take too long.

The number of Deku Nuts that you have is very important, as it determines which item ends up on B. Item number 2 is Bombs, whereas item number 11 is the Longshot.

The easy way to defeat Dark Link is to run away from him, then, when he's close enough to hit, quickly turn and hit him with your sword. I rarely take any damage using this method.

First, dropping a fish and catching it sets up a glitch known as Ocarina Items. If you have a fish in your hand, backflip, and press the button to use the fish, it queues a command to drop the fish as soon as you land. If you try and use a different item before landing, you will take that item out as if you are playing the Ocarina UNLESS you cannot wield the item for whatever reason. If you can't wield it, the item is overwritten with a bottle.

Second, having a bottled fish on C-Right is merely a safety precaution. Using Ocarina Items to overwrite the B button activates another glitch called Reverse Bottle Adventure. Basically, when you put a bottle on B or change it's contents, the game writes that bottle's contents back into the inventory... but where? Well, there's a sequence of 7 bytes.

@EnDZYm3 This sequence stores (in this order) the item on B, C-Left, C-Down, C-Right, and 3 offsets used to reference inventory slots for the C-Left, C-Down, C-Right buttons. Among other things, the offsets are used to link a bottle on C back to a bottle in your inventory. Basically, if you dump a bottle on C-Left, it looks in the address 3 over for an offset point to write back to the inventory. But because B does not have it's own offset slot, the C-Right Item slot value is used as an offset.

@EnDZYm3 And, if you have an item with a value bigger than 24 (the size of the inventory) on C-Right, when you put a bottle on B you will write a bottle OUTSIDE the inventory, into other parts of the ram. Because of this, one must carefully choose which item is on C-Right.

Which leads into my third point. Having a bottled fish (item value 25) on C-Right allows you to write a bottle to your Deku Nut ammo, as there is an ammo slot corresponding for every inventory slot (even if it isn't used).

When I vs Dark Link. Theres a way to make him get paralyze for a while. Its kinda tricky but easy to him stund and make him put his Sword and shield away. ButI use P64 for it to work.

The easiest way to beat Dark Link is to use one of 3 weapons, Megaton Hammer, Dins Fire, or (you're not going to believe me) The Broken Goron's sword, Dark Link can't defend against it.

Sun Song to make the egg hatch, take shortcut through the Lost Woods to the Goron City to get to the top of Death Mountain, most players that I know get Epona IMMEDIATELY afterly becoming an adult so having Epona for anything shouldn't even be an issue, use one bottle of blue fire from the Ice Cavern, as if your almost to Dark Link you'll need to have done anyways, thn fast forward through the days with the Sun Song... much easier then your glitching...

And about the Longshot. There is a glitch that occurs when going back in time with a bottle on B that causes a different item to be set to B depending on what's on Child Link's C-Right. Putting a Bottled fish on Child Link's C-Right causes whatever value is in the Deku Nut count slot to be put on B. That's why having 11 nuts is important; it's the item value for the Longshot.
