@ziqana I think the ad is kinda cheesy and to be honest I usually sub in "retarted" for "gay" so I'm sure that offends some people. But, when looking at the origination of this term, I think it actually is homophobic. Not because many of the people who say that are or think it is, but because I don't think too many people were saying "that's so gay" before very long ago, during when gay awareness and homosexuality became more apparent in schools. It was meant to denote that homosexuality is bad.

Im 15 and gay and tbh I throw this phrase around sometimes, not an offensive way thought. In general these kind of comments make me uncomfortable but don't bother be all that much. The reason for that is because I know teens aren't saying it directing it at the homosexual community - most of the time. In fact, I have many friends, who before didn't know I was gay, who use this phrase all the time. Since I've come out to them, they are very careful not to say it, same with people I hardly know.

In new york alone we have such a high gay population, plus that number can't totally be accurate because of the amount of gays in the closet, that havent become part of the census. and we have ads for drinking and driving, teen pregnancy, and yet we still see teen moms on tv everyday, and hit and runs on the news. Bottom line is people just don't listen or care.

@invisibleBOBsayz they never made PSA's for jews, interracial relationships, or japanese. They make PSA's to raise awareness for safety, or things that could perhaps affect the enviornment. Being gay is an alternative lifestlye, & to this day some sciences suggest it might be a choice, others are convinced they are after sexual trauma or long prison sentences and others say thay would change if they could but they know in their heart they are gay. so be it, but to make a PSA for that is a joke.
