@charlietuna34 cuz u land on ur forefoot more using the Fingers, which directs the stress of the impact towards ur muscles instead of into ur bones, as it would when you heel strike.
@joeyyowee Yeah I agree, this video looks a little akward compared to 1 year later.
A cheaper alternative is the Tarahumara Barefoot Huaraches Running Sandals that you can buy off Ebay or make yourself (if you have material that works, natural rubber is best.)
You look like you've got a pre-existing knee or hip condition, so I won't be too condescending. But you're not bringing your trailing leg forward fast enough. As soon as you hit the ground you should be using your quads and illiopsoas muscles to drive the trailing leg forward. Also, 78 strikes per minute (0:08 to 0:38) equals about 156 strikes per minute. That's quite a large shortfall of 24 strikes per minute.
@jmp51985 Ok. If you knew the smallest thing about proper running form, you wouldn't have made that comment. I just went to your YouTube page and saw your photo by the way. You look like my Dad. My Dad died a couple of years ago and there's something about your face that reminds me of him. If you can read this Dad, I love you very much and I miss you dearly. Mum and I pray for you every night before bed and we ask God that your happy and comfortable in heaven. I love you, Dad. See you soon.
@SuperApparition That is by far the weirdest reply I've ever received. You're older than me btw. I'm only 25, and the pic on my youtube page was when i was 22.
thanks for the comparison. In the video with your shoes on you can see that your leg extends fully before you smash your heel down. here you can see the springy-ness of not only your feet, but your knee as well because your leg is still bent when you land. thanks again.
@fortlauderdale954 try it, I've been eying these shoes up for quite some time (I enjoy hiking at the local parks and want to strengthen my feet this way) I hate running, and have hated ever since I was a kid. So I've been reading about barefoot running and wondered how the heck they land like that!!!!! I took my shoes off, and went outside on night and ran down the sidewalk. It really is easier than you think, it comes naturally, and I actually enjoyed it a little bit :)
@BongSao1979 The runner pictured does not have the painful heel-toe strike. Watch closely and press pause frequently to see how his feet are striking. Vibram FiveFingers (and barefoot running of course) will correct that almost immediately.
The Correct foot strike for thousands of years is to land on the ball of the foot. This type of shoe/sandal (whatever you like to call it) naturally helps guides your foot along to doing that. Regardless try doing the same type of footstrike while wearing shoes.
Do you like running in these? I'm not sure how to translate swedish (or is it German)? Otherwise I would've just read what you wrote on your blog. But I think I really want to get these to help my foot and arch strength.
It pretty much says he nowadays can keep a higher pace than the one in the video but still gets very sore mucles after running, even after using them for a year.
Does anyone know where i can get these in a size 9? I looked on the website and i guess my feet are to small

@phantomdweller943 Try theshoemart, it's a website. They have 38's and 39's.

@OogleManiac well it's his first time so I wouldn't expect it to look natural either

what the manufacturers don't tell you is how your calves feel like they've been ripped off the back of your legs for 2-3 days after your first run!

It doesn't look natural to me. It looks like your purposely trying to forefoot strike.

Which is better Vibram fivefingers or Nike Free?
Barry3443 1 year ago
@Barry3443
If you really wanna get stronger feet and legs, the way that's closest to barefoot is the best, the Vibrams are the closest to barefoot.

My favorite ways to run:
1. Barefoot.
2. Vibram Five Fingers.
3.
Oh yeah. There is no #3.

Hey Man,
Am I correct in assuming that you are not using the common heel to toe foot strike?
You are mostly running off of your toes in these, right?
Thanks.
