He is not just "putting his fingers at random on the guitar neck", he's actually hitting them onto the strings quite hard, now played through an overdrive pedal and amplifier, he could easily get that sound from hammer ons. Now, instead of talking shit, post a video of your amazing guitar playing, because there's fuck all on your channel.

@trueblue374 Oh and btw, this is a way you can play a guitar. You don't have to pluck a string just to make a sound. Sound is made from vibrations in the air and strings create sound when they vibrate from being either plucked or hammer on'd. The pick up's (of course) pick up this vibration and sends it through an amp to be (of course) amplified. Also if you can't make sounds by playing a guitar this way then tell that to Zack Kim lol.

@trueblue374 I know Hofners aren't great guitars because one of my best friends owns one. Almost all guitars are inlaid with mother of pearl. Some examples include Gibsons, Fenders, Jacksons, Ibanez's, Deans, BC Rich's, PRS'. Mother of pearl means nothing, and neither does the finish on the back of the guitar, it is how the guitar plays that matters, and Hofners aren't that good to play.

Like I said, upload a video of you playing your guitar, or shut the fuck up.

On top of that, there is a '58 Hofner Committee Brunette electric on sale on Google in perfect condition for £950. In fact, the highest price I've seen on one is £1350. @trueblue374 And there's a good reason why nobody has really used Hofner guitars since the 60's and 70's. The guitars that have been made since then are much better. The only people who famously used Hofners were Paul McCartney and George Harrison and they only knew around 3 chords, and Mark Knopfler at a push. I can go to any music store and pick up a guitar better than a Hofner for half the price.

Do not pick it, just do a hammer-on. Also, look up people tapping like van halen or buckethead. It is just a series of pull-offs and hammer-ons. If hammered-on with enough force the string will begin to vibrate, it's all technique
