no idea, we get paid through one source which takes sales from a number of areas. We certainly sent out a lot of CDs when it was first released. Today we got something like $50 from one of the digital sellers...I don't keep track.

I'm not the one who has access to the information, I can tell you that there's been about 100 sales via indie store. Why do you care? We only put in on iTunes because people requested they wanted to buy it from there, selling it means we recoup the costs of printing the CD inserts we made for the physical format. We made the song because it amused us, not as some sort of get-rich-quick scheme.

Putting music on iTunes is a bit complicated and costs you money, we submitted ours through CDBaby which sends it out to lots of digital stores for us, like Amazon and others, as well as iTunes. You're not necessarily going to make money by putting on iTunes, but you are opening it up to the biggest market, and making it easier to be heard.

Although I wholeheartedly agree with the title of this song, I find that the chosen image is probably one of the least representative of Mr. Brooker. (He's at a musicfestival, Is wearing at least two ridiculous novelty item and seems to be enjoying himself.) A picture of him sitting on a sofa and angrily shouting at a television would've been a better option. ;)

I hold out hope that at least to a certain extent this song is satirising the cult of TV personality worship as if I'd guess Brooker, would not have much good to say about people idolising him especially considering how he treats other idolatry in the media.
