He never acts the injury, the foley is off a lot, and a lot of targeting was off-line. Not the baddest scene, but the choreography of the fight was good and there was a lot of real ninja tactics. If you want some of the baddest fight scenes, though, look up some of Richard Ryan's, Chuck Jeffrey's, or Tim Roth's work.

Seems this was a censored version. In the original you get to see the blood spray out (several feet) when the Evil Ninja gets impaled. You can still see the blood on the ground when the Good Ninja stares down at the fallen foe.
