Ok i already explained my concerns regarding mutations strands from homosexual bonding, but now i will use another example to prove my point. It is known that those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it. If we look back at many species who were endangered in the past, we can conclude because of insufficient breeding, possibly homosexuality and other problems many of these species are now extinct. You mention UK civil partnerships, which sound a lot like our civil unions (with the exception that our federal govt. not recognizing civil unions is quite damaging) and (with one exception I know of) straight people can't get civil unions either.

If a homosexual man marries a woman he can have the same rights under the marriage law as a heterosexual which makes it equal rights. @DodoPandemic Well actually gays already have equal rights in the USA. They are allowed to vote, serve in the military, work, and be married. Even before gay marriage was passed gays had the right to marry as there is no law stating that a homosexual man cannot marry a woman and there is no law stating that a Lesbian can't marry a man. Since heterosexual men can't marry homosexual men the right does not exist for neither heteros and homosexuals in most states. The exception is the 6 states.

I mentioned the fact that homosexuals can marry just not members of the same sex and the same applies to heterosexuals. I wonder how this change will manifest itself legally elsewhere? The union is legal in NY, and therefore legally recognized in that state. But if the people move from that state move to another state, would it then have to be legally recognized in their new home because it was allowed in NY? You mention UK civil partnerships, which sound a lot like our civil unions (with the exception that our federal govt. not recognizing civil unions is quite damaging) and (with one exception I know of) straight people can't get civil unions either.

@DodoPandemic Well actually gays already have equal rights in the USA. They are allowed to vote, serve in the military, work, and be married. Even before gay marriage was passed gays had the right to marry as there is no law stating that a homosexual man cannot marry a woman and there is no law stating that a Lesbian can't marry a man. Since heterosexual men can't marry homosexual men the right does not exist for neither heteros and homosexuals in most states. The exception is the 6 states.

I wonder how this change will manifest itself legally elsewhere? The union is legal in NY, and therefore legally recognized in that state. But if the people move from that state move to another state, would it then have to be legally recognized in their new home because it was allowed in NY? I mean, aside from the social recognition, that's the real tangible part of marriage, right? I'm curious to see how that will play out.
