  • Most lyrical song ever made.

  • Heaven is a statd

  • @slimthugging2011 spelled *state wrong dumbass

  • Best rap song ever made

  • Thats not to take anything away from Biggie Pac Big L Pun Ghostface or anyone. they are all great in their own right, but if you want to use facts to back up your arguement and just the pure artform that is his lyrics storytelling wordplay everything, Nas is by far the GOAT

  • I dont give a shit who your are everyone knows alive dead or whatever Nas was and is the greatest ever period. If your opinion differs then your opinion is shit. any one who knows a REAL MC or is a real MC knows Nas is the best to EVER do it. THere is no arguement. Nas has 5 classic ALBUMS not just tracks, if you wanna say how many hot tracks the number is peaking 200+

  • when i was young i used to go hard

until my uncle started molestin me

now his ass is on the registry

  • keepin this effervescent street ghetto essence inside us

cause it provides to the proper insight to guide us

even we know somehow we all got to go

but as long as we leavin thievin well be leaving with some kind of dogh so

until the day we expire and turn to vapors me and my capers will be somewhere stacking plenty papers

keeping it real packin steel gettin high

cause life's a bitch and then you die

  • best verse ever rapped

Visualizin the realism of life and actuality

Fuck who's the baddest a person's status depends on salary

And my mentality is, money orientated

I'm destined to live the dream for all my peeps who never made it

cause yeah, we were beginners in the hood as five percenters

But somethin must of got in us cause all of us turned to sinners

Now some, restin in peace and some are sittin in San Quentin

Others such as myself are tryin to carry on tradition

  • Dat one white guy in da back at 1:01 Haha

  • they had AZ go in depth on how he writes dope rhymes like this one,

its in a book, they got hold of all the best MCs for it, its

    an incredible read, boook's titled-

    H.O;W ...::T:O ...R;A.P

  • yes, AZs verse is pretty much as good as its gonna get in Hiphop. Ive more than 50 GB of just hiphop and i can safely say that this track should have a place in the top 10 of best raptracks=)

Beat is also ridic, so soulful and i love the trompet in the end too! (I think its Nas father?)

  • searching "nas AZ life's a bitch" brought me here

  • Visualizin the realism of life and actuality

Fuck who's the baddest a person's status depends on salary

And my mentality is, money orientated

I'm destined to live the dream for all my peeps who never made it

az deserves more credit. He killllls this trackkkk

  • Everyone at some point was copying Nas. Even Raekwon.

  • KEEP STATIC LIKE OLD FABRIC

  • @MrGenoboss its keep static like WOOL fabric

  • The lyrical genius of this song is perplexing. Honestly this makes the 50 cent, Lil Wayne fiasco crap look like Britney Spears. I never get sick of this song.

  • @musood6630

yo homie i be glad dat youz finally come outta da closet.

  • @musood6630 fiasco? you think Lupe Fiasco is crap?

  • @mattS5295 I said fiasco as in the actual meaning of the word fiasco. I was not referring to Lupe Fiasco who is quite a talented rapper indeed. He is still one of the niggers that keeps it real. So yeah, just take into account the context of what I'm saying. If I capitalized Fiasco then you can have a go at me

  • @musood6630 My mistake haha. I was gonna say... Lupe's one of the best around currently

  • Milkbone brought me here.

  • AZ's verse- one of the best hip-hop verses of all time.

  • Nas is the G.O.A.T. but everybody knows AZ killed this beat!

  • I love how after AZ does the chorus the final time it fades into the saxophone. The saxophone that starts to play @2:43 still gives me chills. I'm in my early 20s....this the only type of rap that makes sense to me.

  • @LuLusQueen thats a trumpet w/ a a mute in it

  • /watch?v=5cgH5REyP_g&feature=related

  • Payloa's a bitch

  • these niggas collab like very few else ! wish they made a whole album together. another to collab amazing off the top of my head is "The What" by Biggie and Methodman, check it out if you have never heard of it.

Not really on the level of nas and az in the deep meaningful aspect, but lyrically they kill it, mad love for the East coast<3

  • Az and Nas and Nas's dad with the sax on one track <3 Ilmatic is the best Rap album ever made, and I would say Eminems Infinite, deserves to be there with it, it has the same emotion and true lyrics

  • @LyricallyBlessedTV Agreed, but I think Eminem even said he got Infinite off of Nas's style. True lyrics. The only other album to be compared to those two is Reasonable Doubt.

  • @RockstarLuvRT I agree, Reasonable doubt is one of the only contenders exept Me against the world, Ready to die, and Bizzare ride II :D

  • Nas Brought me here not Common

  • shit being poor brought me here oh wait i got tha cassette tape when it hit

  • @johnnymo4000 everybody should thumbs up this dude, if you had this on deck, your legit as fuck .. ry said so

  • nas verse here's one of the greatest ever

  • @20tropic az's as well. he's so underrated yeah but i dunno its not like he got murdered on his own shit or nothing, and this is when they were tight ..... man az so mysterious, even on his shit with styles n shit he's so smooth and mo money mo murder mo homicide part of the firm.... we need a behind the music on az ! and nas duh = GOAT

  • AZ spits maybe the greatest verse of all time and this track and Illmatic and Doe or Die is a fucking classic, AZ didn't blow up he talks about the Illuminati all the time AZ gets real

  • @TheRedirkulous We cant Win by az. Yeah tha nigga was against the industry and illuminati. but lets get real, after doe or die, he fell off.

  • @ThaSubzstance Thanks, I hate to say that though, but after Doe Or Die he only had Azartic which was sorta of a comeback album then The Format, and the only song on that album the Format...Lol AZ fucked off, but man he is one of the most underrated

  • great tune...both nas and az shine and make it so great so both made it such a great tune!!! :)

  • Nas owned this track ...

  • one of few respectable ny mcee's nasty nas. az went hard too

  • IMPORTANT ??? who came harder AZ or NAS?

  • @mrpapafunky7879 NAS = AZ both these niggas came hard as fuck

  • puffin on that good shit all day

  • Nas' emceeing=to his dad's trumpet playing

  • God damn AZ your first verse ever is top 10 status with Nas and you actually killed it more and it's on the greatest album of all time AZ=Legendary Status no doubt

  • Nas best song!

  • I switched my motto -- instead of sayin fuck tomorrow

That buck that bought a bottle could've struck the lotto

This is a real line right here.

  • Wow, AZ's verse has to be one of the greatest! Amazing!

  • goddamn I miss old school

  • Someone explain to me what the fuck happen in hiphop between 1994-2011?

  • @blackplaque617

    My Opinion..

early rappers would rap about the real shit. shit that actually mattered. they rapped about the things everyone was thinking about but would never say. these guys were real time poets.

now its just about money cars clothes and disrespecting women. terrible role models.

basically, hip hop was for the people who needed it, now its just commercial.

    all for the money

  • @032090 hahaha ur kinda dumb,

    IMO

rap right now is great, NOW they are talking about shit that really mathers, they talk about politics, the illuminati, rasicm and corruption, and no i dont mean mainstream bullshit, i mean the underground like immortal technique, lowkey and diabolic

  • Comment removed

  • @032090 i agree with this 100% real fucking talk man. mad love and respect

  • @032090 jedi mind tricks! hit it up its all about the underground. the industry realizes these kids today want to hear that mindless bullshit so thats why it dominates

  • @032090 i couldnt have said it better myself. I woke up early on my born day, I'm twenty years of blessing

My physical frame is celebrated cause I made it

One quarter through life some God-ly like thing created

Got rhymes 365 days annual plus some

Load up the mic and bust one. the essence of real hip hop

  • @032090 didnt nas just say clothes bankroll and hoes?

  • @032090 "thats the truth, ruth!"

  • @032090

    No.

Early rapper rapped about the same shit you heard today.. Run DMC, Sugarhill, etc.

Then in the late 80s, NWA came and brought out "Gangsta rap"

Then it pissed off East Coast artists and they thought it was a disgrace.

So the East banged and new artists emerged.

And it was always about the moneny, tbh, Illmatic sold a lot but the only song by Nas you would hear on the radio would be One Love, everything else would be songs about partying, etc.

  • @MeAgainstTheRadio im diggin ur name lol and yeah i feel yah but wasnt there a time when hip hop was really alive???? like common said i used to love her

  • @LaughNowCryLater323

    It's all about perspective.

And when I Used To Love H.E.R. by Common came out (1994), East Coast rappers said that the West Coast ruined hip hop with Gangsta rap.

  • @032090 Yup this is back when mainstream rap made sense NOT cents

  • @StreamerVideo Nice dude.. might have to use the line myself

  • @PieandBiscuits go ahead

  • I step in the club, rollin on that loud shit

  • Eazy e sucks. He was just a member of NWA that happend to die.

  • @3terNalb3aT hes still the shit

  • AZ outshined nas here

  • 38 peoples life aint a bitch

  • AZ verse is the best i've ever heard. ever. it's perfect.

  • damn AZ did his thing...

it not often you see someone lyrically outrap nas.

  • @TheMrbreezy93 Hell yeah. That nigga was coming from the heart with that verse.

  • this should be AZ ft. Nas lol

  • @Atreyu96 lmao Word!

  • LET A REAL DEBATE BEGIN

AZ or Nas. on this track only.

  • @9toStryfe They're both great, and have their own styles. Their both in my Top 10, so I don't find any reason why we should compare the two. They're both lyrical legends, so lets just enjoy them doing their shit :P

  • @9toStryfe Az absolutely schools Nas on this track... don't get me wrong I absolutely love this album and I am a big fan of Nas and his flow but Az's energy just blows him away.

  • @9toStryfe NAs verse is underrated. but AZ did his thing i dont kno they are both so good in their own ways

  • @mmkay32 Nas' coolness and smoothness on this track is on point

  • @PhatTedz and az wasnt?

  • @MrRada12 naw lol AZ definitely had probably one of the best verses of the best album lol

  • harsh realities of life rite here :/

  • this is what i call true rap

  • alot of ppl fail to realize that this verse was AZ's introduction to the industry and i personally think its arguable on who ripped the track more, i say AZ by split decision. but his verse is bananas!

  • i could zone out for hours looping that trumpet solo over and over.

  • @brennanthebrown played by nas's dad too

  • @whatupmaaan yezzir!

  • @brennanthebrown yea me too niggy
