  • 0.26 side strike

  • this is what i miss from living in toronto the lightning moved to bc a few years ago

  • when ever there is lightning it always hits the C.N TOWER

  • if you look closely , lebron traveled

  • That is scary

  • This scared me lol. I'm scared of thunder storms. But this is awesome, and lightning will usually go to tall buildings with antennas because they all reach the ground. I would not like to be on the new Cn tower attraction. If there was this.

  • The World of Darkness Universe is real...

  • Hey!

We have released the third teaser for the film. What do you think of the Toronto Maple Leafs' current ticket prices?

    Unbeleafablefilm

    ..

  • UUUUUUuuuuu...are storms like this often there?

  • @sakykBzz Not often, we just had a huge one much much more severe then this, the CN tower got struck about 200 times. 2007 and 2011 are the biggest storms we have had, other then that it is extremely rare to have weather like this in Toronto

  • i witnessed the coming of it , it went dark around brampton area CRAZY!!!!!

  • man storms in cities have an interesting atmosphere :\

  • ZEUS HAS STRUCK AGAIN!

  • @deadlybran You suck ass in science

  • Good shots!!!

  • Here's a better one

  • IKR I SAW IT I WAS SO SCARED

    (i saw it in mississauga,ontario,canada)!!!!!!!!!

  • wow the storm hates the cn tower! lol

and IdealistDreamer how severe was it??

  • Its cause the CN tower has something that attracts lighting

! I know cause i live near here!

  • @fergielover23 Are you on dumbshit crack? It's because the CN Tower is the tallest fucking structure there, lightning always "looks" for the quickest way down to the Earth.

  • @fergielover23

I've been Up the CN Tower often, The only reason it attracts lightning, is because lightning will try to hit the Highest point in an area, ESPECIALLY if it's metallic (Made of... metal) And the CN Tower is by far the highest point in the area, It was never designed to attract lightning, It just kind of does...

  • It's a giant lightning rod, it generates electricity on the odd occasion for the city- read up next time you're in science class. If you're referring to it being insulated from electrical strikes, then yes. It's a tourist spot, Toronto isn't the smartest city (Rob Ford, *cough*) but they wouldn't make a lightning rod to kill their visitors.

  • uhhh... Lightning does strike the same spot twice!! this is fake!! haha jk

  • 1.21 gigawatts!

  • Zapdos tried taking down the CN tower

  • Lightning striking a tower, doesn't it look like from a horror movie?

  • Zeus lost to Cn Tower .

  • Thumbs up if your watching this in 2011!

  • @pokechat89789780 out of my bedroom window :)

  • In your face god, you can't destroy the CN tower >:).

  • Good thing I wasn't on the new Edge Walk when this happened...

  • lol it gets hit because its the easiest thing to hit thats why they say if your in a field lay down

    More Lightning Strikes

  • That's incredible! Did you shoot this? && Thanks for posting!

  • Duncan McCloud is still at it...........THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE.

  • imagine someone standing on top of it.

  • y does the video sometimes cuts?

  • dude the one at 0:23.. intense

  • thats an awesome video !!!!!

  • i thought lightning never strikes twice in the same place?

  • @2097adam2097 since thats the closest point to the sky in that area, the lightning is more attracted to that point (the shortest distance)

  • @2097adam2097 whoever made up that rumour is a fucking idiot. how would that even be possible if you think about it? its just cold air and warm air colliding which makes electricity which sometimes attracts to an object. so never striking twice seems dumb.

  • like if your jaw dropped to the floor

  • its alive, its ALiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiVE!!!!!!

  • there is always 1 that trys to think they know everything. showing off. who cares its a great video. wish we had some like that

  • Do I sense a cell phone commercial being created?

  • not true! lightning never hits the same place twice. haha what idiot came up with that saying?

  • @NGib100100 shut up

  • @NGib100100 its probaly not the exact same spot on the tower that it hits.... loser!!

  • @27aaron80 lol someone thinks it dont hit the same spot twice.. u mad bro? haha

  • My god.....zzzz

  • @deadlybran it has hundreds of rods.

  • what an amazing image

  • frankenstein

  • and thats wen ben franklins invention came to use... if i wuz him id kill the ppl who laughed and then let them get struck by lightning multiple times.. Xd

  • Was that an alarm at 57 seconds?

  • I wonder what would happen if i was talking on the CN tower amateur repeater VE3TWR when it gets struck.

  • Pfft and they say lightning never strikes in the same place twice. -_-

  • @deadlybran i know im not stupid i just wrote that....DUH!

  • because is a big tower

  • Lightning Never Stikes the same place twice My ass

  • [C]huck [N]orris tower `

  • @3rdextraaccount Excellent comment.

  • @3rdextraaccount Chuck Norris was on the tower commanding the mighty lightning!

  • @3rdextraaccount its his lair!!:O

  • hahaaha a car alarm xDDD

  • dam lots of lighting ..scary D:

  • Thanks for this amazing video... I am so tired of everyone posting picture slide-shows of lightning.

  • the CN tower is in "Toronto." As far as I know, "Totonto" isn't the name of anything.

  • ALL I KNOW IS DONT GO TO TOTONTO CAUSE TO MANY BAD THINGS HAPPEN THERE!!!!

  • @dudemandudeify WHY EVERYTHING BAD HAPPENS IN THE MAGICAL LAND OF TOTONTO

  • @dudemandudeify dude what are u talking oh wait thats true

  • @dudemandudeify Welcome to the real world, where there's crime on every corner.

  • the tower is poking god in the ass

  • @SUPERBU5 If there was two, God could use the tower to eat Chinese food. (Bad joke.. sorry)

  • Fantastic video, many thanks

  • EVIL!

  • the glass floors are so scary, ive been there 1 time XD

  • wicked.

I like it when it strikes well-known buildings, (if no one's injured of course)

  • its good it is suppose to it give power

  • That would be so scary!

  • afterall that is actually why that pole on top is there...

  • where is this?

  • @kevin30081 Toronto

  • @TheHassanBa does that happen often?

  • @kevin30081 probably does when theres a lightning storm,

i live north of Toronto so im not sure :)

  • Wheres the time portal?

  • God's playing with us. We are just mere popcorns to him. Would you just stop being a jerk and explain in simple terms why we're here? You can answer this message if you want.

  • Canada ftw

  • is this real

  • War of the worlds becomes reality !

  • Bet you didnt know lightning strikes from the ground upwards.

  • @LeBronFilms Lightning does not strike from the ground upwards, it meets at the middle of the two points. If the ground carries the right charge, the (usually) negatively charged lightning from the clouds will meet the positively charged bolt coming from the ground. Positively charged lightning can occur, but that's something more complex that I won't get into.

  • this is some vicious lightning, never seen anything like it.

  • Purple lightning?!?! Yikes!!! That's the hottest type of lightning!!

  • I was in Toronto in September. Fortunately it was bright and sunny. Not a drop of rain until I got back into USA.

  • wow i want to see a storm like that, storms in the uk r shit. tho i wud proberly crap myself standing there like you lol good on ya mate

  • it make me think : if, in this time, CN have a guy inside there, what should happend?

  • @deidara111 nothing.there's something on top of the CN tower that catches the lightning so nothing happens to the people inside

  • @deidara111 he would see a bright flash if anywhere near a window, or on the observation deck, and hear a loud thunderclap

the upper levels (including the tip) are made of highly conductive metals, which safely channel the electricity around the structure, and with the tower being grounded at all times, the energy can flow through the building harmlessly, eventually dissipating.

  • @0:05 there is a swirl coming up in front of the tower.

  • My Home town... Lighting storms in toronto r epic

  • mann you must have had balls of steel to stand there and watch that id shit my pant :P

  • wtf ;p

  • It's alive....it's ALIVE!!!

  • thats the greatest lightning storm ive ever seen...i wish i could see some like that in person
