In 1985 a group of 30 theologians & biblical scholars came together & held the 1st conference of what's called the "jesus seminars", which BTW they STILL hold to this VERY DAY.
The SOLE purpose of that seminar was to debate on the authenticity of the bible, and establish religious mythology from fact, as well as give an accurat account of teachings attributed to jesus.
