  • Forgot how much loved Shatner in this movie.

  • Over Macho Grande, sir?

  • "We are going to get her down and down safe"

"Real money safe drops from nowhere"

    lol still cracks me up.

  • i have the same drinking problem that TED STRIKER does!!!!!

  • "Why the hell aren't I notified about these things?!" love that line!

  • I love that the the communications screen he's on is actually a door.

  • They're blinking and they're beeping, and they're flashing and they're beeping....I can't stand it anymore! Lol

  • "I want a 6' trench dug around the entire base"

  • 6:05-6:15.. Classic..lol

  • Damn fine actor.

  • might as well write 'em off... close up the Bridge...lets get outta here--lights out.

  • And this was BEFORE Shatner began his career in self-parody.

  • I love the howling wolf at the begining of the moon scene

  • The guy at 7:22 reminds my of how i used to shave.

  • The moonbase name, Alpha Beta, must be another joke, because Alpha Beta was also the name of a chain of supermarkets on the west coast.

  • "I guess irony can be pretty ironic sometimes." How ironic.

  • Ok i have a question: Why in the name of GOD in heaven is Ted Striker's 400 Polka Favorites not available on iTunes?

  • looks like he still has that drinking problem =)

  • Irony can be pretty ironic sometimes.

  • beautiful hair

  • Down safe!

  • doesn't sandahl bergman from 'conan' have a cameo in this movie?isn't she one of the lunar base officers?i seem to recall.

  • 1000s of lights just blinking and beeping and flashing and flashing and beeping and blinkining i cant take it anymore the flashing and blinking and beeping why doesnt somebody pull the plug

    Love that line

  • I see, pretend nothing has happened and hope everything turns out ok in the morning, iv considered that theres got to be a better angle. LOL

  • @mannequinwizard Best part is getting those DAMN lights to flash in sequence! That had me LOL

  • Hahahaha, love this scene!!!

  • Irony can be pretty ironic sometimes. LOL!!

  • wants to be William Shatner when he grows up!

  • on of the funniest movies ever!

  • Love the way the doors open: sssshhhhh

  • hey a character from the watchmen raurshack

  • "I've never heard of him, that's not exactly true, we were like brothers."

    That line always gets me.

  • I want a 6 foot ditch dug around the whole base filled with gasoline.

  • DOWN SAFE! :D

  • We have computers everywhere today, not not flashing lights twinkling in sequence and "making beeps".

  • Quite funny.

Only after Star Trek Next generation they decided to put names in the bright flashing buttons.

  • Shhhhh........SHHHHHH CLEVER

  • Meet me in the tower..... We have no tower, sir........NO tower ??? Just a bridge, sir..... WHY THE HELL AREN'T I NOTIFIED ABOUT THESE THINGS !?! ( opens the screen and walks through ).

  • Oh my God

  • fill it with gas. get the women and children to the lower shelters contact the japanese ambassador get me a complete file on everyone thats seen the sound of music more than four times on second thought kill those orders lol hahahahaha

  • This is my favorite part of the movie, especially the part where Shatner loses it over the blnking lights. The beeps keep getting louder as he does, haha Shatner was great in this movie.

  • We need Buck Murdock to solve the U.S. financial crisis : )

  • @Melville10 He'll get the debt down and down safe

  • I'm watching Season 1 of Man from UNCLE featuring Shatner and Nimoy as guest stars. Shatner plays an exterminator and Nimoy is an aide to a Russian politician.

  • @Melville10 So true, a 6 year old would do a better job then barry.

  • 1:47 thats from star trek 2

  • It's sooo funny how they reveal all of these Sci-Fi Stereotypes like the blinking and beeping lights that doesn't have any funtion XD

My favorite Moment in Airplane 2

  • loved shatner in this! thx for posting.

  • Get me a record of everyone who has seen the sound of music more then four times.

  • Shatner dedication in great new bio (All About Jeffrey hunter) at amazon!

  • I wonder who was in command of Enterprise....

  • picard most likly stuck in somr sort of time deas ex machina thing

  • to thanks51's comment: Chris Pine now

  • "Coming in low...is just something you have to do when you land."

I always crack up at this line.

  • Laugh at me, but I´m always doing that "tsch tsch" thing when I had to go thru that kind of doors :-)

  • "Sir these lights keep blinking out of sequence."

"what should we do about it, sir?"

"Get them to blink in sequence."

  • Over macho grande sir ? ... No I'm afraid I'll never get over macho grande.

  • down safe!

  • heheh those red lights appear alot in Star Trek. I don't know what they are though.

  • down safe thud

  • Try another leever!

  • Irony can be pretty ironic sometimes...classic.

  • "we could try ignoring it"

I still use that dialogue today. Mostly at work. lol

  • It's just something you have to do... when you land.

    :)

I was also reminded of the line from the first one. "You ever been kicked in the head by an iron boot? Of course not, never happens."

  • "I want a six foot trench dug around this base fill it with gas get me a complete file on anyone who's seen the sound of music more than four times on second thought kill those orders"hahahaha

  • If there were thousands of those blinking and beeping and flashing lights everyday at my place I would go crazy too:)

  • Well then it's best you don't buy that apartment off eBay that was designed to look like a Star Trek ship. Thats got more blinking lights than this. xD

(I said that because of an assumption you're a Trek fan simply by the video you commented on.)

  • that was hilarious! XD

  • Don't fight 'er!

    I'm trying...but SHE'S fighting ME!!

  • macho grande lol!

  • The Sound Effects are largely from 'Star Trek II'... as well as the prob with the rotating lights...going back and forth...blinking, bleeping and flashing... FLASHING! I CANT STAND IT ANYMORE!!!

    XD XD XD

  • "Ted Striker? You know him sir? Never heard of him... that's not entirely true" lol

  • I pulled his record (Ted Striker sings 40 polka songs) but I don't think you're gonna like it, sir!

  • Classic Bill Shatner.....I really wonder if Bill knows how funny he can be?

  • Amazing scene from a great movie, but anybody else notice he looks at inkblots given to him by a man named Rorshak? Watchmen anyone?

  • @clasikrock - "Rorshak? Watchmen anyone? "I just noticed for the first time, having seen the Watchmen movie recently. Wondering if anyone else did. What's great about this, isn't that it's just comedy, it's rich and thick comedy. Did you notice the computer noises are an Atari 8 bit loading from a disk?

  • 7:55 LoL, why doesnt he just stop ?! XD

  • "Get down safe"

A safe falls down behind him.

    LOL!

  • Give ol' Bill Shatner his props, sometimes he can actually be pretty darned funny, intentionally even. Yeah, okay, he's got a reputation as a hammy actor, but sometimes he's actually a pretty decent actor with an intermittent penchant for goofy comedy. God bless him.

  • @RoguePlanet Shatner is the man, plain and simple.

  • @RoguePlanet

I think you have an intermittent penchant for coming up with expressions like "intermittent penchant".

  • @RoguePlanet Yah, he can be a corny actor, but you just have to give him props in this 'cause he lampoons himself and all the not-so-subtle Star Trek jokes.

  • were gonna get her, DOWN SAFE, BOOM! ROFLMAOOOOO

  • 8:18 Pre-Wheel of Fortune Pat Sajak.

  • Denny Crane was so young here

  • I love the part when Murdock comes through the door which you thought was a display screen!

  • It's Star Trek props!!! XD

  • "I want a six foot trench dug around the entire base....fill it with gasoline!"

  • "Might as well write him off. Let's close up the bridge. Let's get out of here."

  • lol that's optimism for ya lol

  • @vtyhw - "Let's get out of here." ... and he shuts EVERYTHING OFF with the turn of a single knob. "What the he**'s a MAN doing with a bobby pin??"

  • The way Shatner says, "no tower?" always kills me LoL

BTW, the machine with the red lights is actually from Star Trek and pops up in movies and episodes of every series from time to time. Always kills me when I see it in the background.

And "Down safe!" always kills me too LoL

  • anyone else notice that Buck's radio microphone isn't plugged into anything? haha

  • I guess irony is ironic...huh

  • Ohh cut the bleeding heart crap will ya? We've all got our switches, lights and knobs to deal with Stryker. I mean, down here, there are literally hundred and thousands of blinking, beeping and flashing lights. Blinking and beeping and flashing...they're flashing..and they're beeping! I CAN'T STAND IT ANYMORE!

THEY'RE BLINKING AND BEEPING AND FLASHING! WHY DOESN'T SOMEBODY PULL THE PLUG?!!!

  • lol

  • hahahahaahhahahhahhahha lmfao!!!! lmfao!!! find a piece of metal and shove it in there!!!!!

  • @TheCoolProfessor The only thing missing was him screaming I AM CAPTAIN KIRK!!!

  • @McMahonHater Right! Or, even "I...AM...KIROK" would work too.

  • I agree, best nine minutes of the movie.

  • Easily.

  • i love the sarcasm as he says, "cut the bleeding heart crap will yaaaa".

  • 4:10 - 4:20 LMFAO

  • I love the ridiculous orders.

I want a 6 ft trench dug around the entire complex......Fill it with gasoline!!!!!

    And....Contact the Japanese (sp)? ambassador!

    Hilarious!

  • haahahahahahahahhahahaahah cof cof hahahahahahaahhahahah!!!!!! lmfao lmfao!!

  • @Dealer35811 - "I love the ridiculous orders." Reminds me of an old job. A supervisor stepped us through a release, and it got screwed up. From then on, we had a checklist of things we had to sign off on. It was our fault of course, not his.

  • I like the whole movie, but this is probably my favorite 9 minutes of it! LOL!!!!!

  • "We could try ignoring it, Sir?" Giggle

"no. im afraid we lost howie." lol

  • Airplane, probably the best movie in the world. This one is also good.

  • He plays the character with such conviction.

He literally takes over the movie for a bit.

  • Penlager,

What do you expect from Shatner?!?

  • God bless you for posting this Wisegambler.

You're the top dog,the big man, numero uno honcho, the head cheese!

  • "If it weren't for those people up there, I'd say let Ted Stryker go down in a firey twisted mass of molten metal" classic stuff!

  • Greatest Shatner scene stealer ever. Do you have the Chuck Conners scenes at all(the spitting scene, trying to avoid Lloyd Bridge's cigarette butts)?

  • This is a really great video. Thanks for posting this. I really liked this part of the film. My favorite scenes in this video are the ones of the woman in the Moral Majority shirt and they show her boobs starting to shake and shimmy.

  • You're welcome. No one had previously posted the entire sequence but glad to see so many have enjoyed it. Was my favorite part of both Airplane! movies.

  • blinking and beeping and flashing!

  • Ted Stryker?

    You know him sir?

Never heard of him..... Thats not exactly true... We were like brothers. We flew together during the war. We were close, real close until...

    Until sir?

Until that day over Macho Grande.

    Over Macho Grande sir?

No Im afraid I'll never get over Macho grande.
