  • I'm leaving for OCS this summer. I can't wait to one day join the fleet.

  • happy b-day devil dogs! YUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • people think american marines are the best, i do not agree, i think british are better because as i recall they are The royal marines commando's

  • @claymonatic Shut up. If you like them so much go over there, and if you are there, stay there and don't tell American Marines off.

  • @claymonatic go tell a marine that u dumb ass

  • @claymonatic The Royal Marines are a special unit of the Royal Navy. They should not be compared to a whole branch such as the US Marine Corps because the Royal navy itself is not a separate branch.

  • @claymonatic royal marines are not better. the brits have not headed a major war since ww2. small battles and conflicts but no major wars. the usmc have been tested and tried on the modern combat battlefield in the past 100 years and have been hugely successful. due mostly in part to our stellar training, brotherhood and the american mindset of "never give in and keep fighting".

  • they show you all that but they never show you how many people lose limbs and go home with a severed spinal cord!

  • Can't wait to become a USMC Officer.

  • @theUDTfrogman hold ur tongue before i kick you below deck where u belong fat ass!!!!

  • Army? Aint Ready Marines Yet, is what i know

  • @Thelatios1011 i thought it was Arent Real Marines Yet

  • @sweeneyashleym only administratively

  • 8 people are in the army

  • US Army is a master!

  • And that's how they make Butter Bars... That and 10% of the Naval Academy (Canoe U). And as long as they listen to those of us who are or were Sgt(s), we will take care of them and make them the damn fine officers most of them tend to be.

  • It's inspiring to see that people who could have surely held easier, higher paying, jobs decide instead to sacrifice that opportunity to serve as a marine. These aren't guys who went in just for the helluvit. These men came to the Marines for a reason burning inside them, to do a good far greater than anything they may have otherwise done. There aren't a lot of people with that kind of will and self endowed moral obligation that tells them "This is what you're meant for"

  • cant wait to become an officer in the military only 4 more years to go. . . . the countdown begins

  • Home of the brave, and home of the tough, Semper Fi "Always faithful" and that's no bluff! They're mighty and true, they protect our freedom for me and you. Honor Courage and commitment is what they're taught to do. It's all about protecting the red, white and the blue! Marines will never retreat, break or bend, they're ready to fight, attack and defend. I respect our military, and proud to say,God Bless this country and our brave men and women everyday, I'M PROUD TO BE AMERICAN, I LOVE THE USA !

  • @Dan4USCTroy Great Comment man! GO MARINES!

  • NROTC... looking forward to it.

  • Press 6 for Oorah!

  • @a3l3e3j3o OORAH!

  • "Ooraaaah!" Love it!

  • i wanna go to Old Dominion like they said in this video or Norfolk to become an officer. 1 more year to go till college.

  • My grandfathers cousin was a marine on gaudacanal during ww2. coolest person to talk to.

  • Actually. Its hoorah for the marines semper fi

  • @shril99 Actually, it's 'OORAH'.

  • I Can't Wait. Marine Corps right after High School Graduation!!!!!!

My dad's a Force Recon Marine, and my cousin is a Marine. I'm next Lol.

  • @MarineCorps2256 good luck man! thats my dream! oorah

  • @MrGandalf349 its ooorahh.......hoorah is army....im 13 and i know that.

  • @armysappergirl4life Actually, Hoorah is Marines and Hooah is army, Hooyah is navy. Your profile name has Army in it and you didnt know lol

  • @24Rorschach Actually, you are wrong. If your going to correct someone it helps to be right. It carries more weight.

  • @armysappergirl4life hooah but atleast u knew

  • Can women be Combat Engineers in the marines? i have heard of lots of them and i have heard yes they can as long as they meet the same requirements as the males.....but then i have also heard no they cant...it does not say on the marines website ...SOME HELP WOULD BE NICE !!!!!!!!!!!

  • @armysappergirl4life Sapper, did you get an answer to this Q? Your local USMC Recruiter can tell you the straight scoop. Don't listen to street scuttlebutt or the rumor mill ~ get the straight answers from the professionals; just pick up your phone.

  • thumbs up if you survived ocs

  • Harvard University!? And serving the USMC? Damn.

  • @gtarules1 That is called deadly intelligence.

  • @gtarules1 College isnt always what its cracked up to be these days I here about and know college grads who get really prestigious degrees and go to Ivy league schools but end up in debt and without a job.

  • @gtarules1 not good enough.

  • @gtarules1 I remember reading a story of a guy who graduated Harvard and enlisted as infantry in the USMC, he said it was his calling, and a few years back a genius child prodigy did the same as well. The Corps calls many.

  • @gtarules1 You sure he ain't paying for his college?

  • @gtarules1 Einstein has a gun.

  • @gtarules1 The best of America

  • @gtarules1 thats my plan

  • @gtarules1 Maybe another Mcarther!? lol Has mastered the English langueage? and is in the Marine Corps and happens to be a officer! He is going somewhere lol

  • @gtarules1 That man is such a patriot.

  • @gtarules1 we had a guy in my platoon from Harvard...actually had alot of guys from Ivy league schools

  • i love the cadences in the background.... omg they are so motivating!!!

  • I thin the Marines are awesome! Best branch in America....but tbh...im too scared shitless to join any of this :/

  • SEMPER I..FK THE OTHER GUY LOL..an old saying my 1st Sgt use to say!

  • @mannyman03 LMFAO

  • I listened to a Marine Recruiter. The important difference between the Army and the Marines, Quality vs Quantity. Your choice. Marines have the Quality of soldiers, well trained. The Army has the Quantity of the soldiers way more soldiers than the Marines. But we can't do it without each other. Every branch has its purpose. And that's what makes America so great.

  • @athleteman12 Each recruiting officer of each branch will have their biases. It's funny that you mention quality, when it's well renowned that the Army has better leadership and more schools than the Marine Corps. Not to mention, that the requirements are virtually identical upon joining any branch of the service. It's shameful that one would outright question the quality of others serving---for the same cause, I might add.

  • at the end he didnt say "dress" after 'dress right"

  • everybody talk shit about other branches and yes we need people as marines or as a soldier, but we need smart people also as an airman. The war is not solve it by bullets at all!!

  • I'm in 1 week after Highschool

  • if you check you will see that it is now officially The dept of the Navy and Marine Corps

  • damn OCS is gonna kik my ass but its worth it. oorah!!!

  • Exactly what I'm doing :). OCS after college

  • @starcraft2zergfan it's OSO

  • 5 People Couldn't join the Marines So they went to the Army instead

  • "We wont just kill the bastards, we will cut out their living guts and use them to grease the treads of our tanks" General George S Patton. Great man.

  • @Marinenavyseal

    LOL! PATTON is just awesome!

  • I love the fact that this targets College graduates, all these colleges are huge why would anyone in the militarty want to join it when they can get a job paying 2 X more?

  • @jdizzle3484 bc they want to serve there country

  • @jdizzle3484 because they want to do something that other people wont do and make a sacrifice for their country dip shit..im doing 2 years of college and doing the marines. and i can attend college paid off after my service and still make 3X the amount of money now..

  • @jdizzle3484 there have been some people who went to very top Colleges and then joined the Military. I'm not joining the Marines for Money, even though I sure could use it lol. always wanted to join just to earn the title Marine and support and defend my country,

  • "Some people live an entire lifetime wondering if they've made a difference in the world, Marines don't have that problem." ~ President Ronald Regan

  • OCS OOH RAH!!!

  • @EssEffUSMC If there were no wanna-be's, there would never BE any at all. It's the strength of the honorable admiration of Marines, that makes "the wanna-be-Marines" want to be one of the Few and Proud. I'm sorry Sir, but please do not damper the Gung Ho spirit of those willing to hear the calling and run towards it. We shoot our mouths off not to brag, but to search for acceptance (or even a oorah), from the brave men and woman who HAVE served in the Corps like your self. Semper Fidelis

  • @EssEffUSMC if there were no wanna-be's, there would never be any at all.

  • tbh this dint inpress me but still have respect for the us marines for what they did in in ww2 but i my self think that the dude marines commerials and better look up '' lange afval korps mariniers 2.25min watch it and comment to me what u think of it?

  • i'm happy that italy has a good relationship with u.s... crazy bastard!

  • most of the schools said are from virginia...

  • @legendhero17 damn right. va goes hard son. lol

  • i want to become one im serious

  • OOO-RAHHH!!!!!!!!

  • i cant wat for college after that OCS

  • i dont know but in 4 years i sure as hell am going to try!!!!!

  • Relax people. I had good Officers and some bad Officers in my 21 years in the Corps. I've had some good enlisted and some bad enlisted also. You can't stereotype from the bad. Learn from the bad (what not to do) to become good. Leadership is a learned art. It doesn't come with rank.

  • @silentwarrior18x - LOL, too funny. I know you're a soldier, but that is a Marine quality reply. Hooah and OohRah!

  • Good moto. Seriously.

  • im gonna apply for rotc and become an officer but i want to see combat.. am i gonna be stuck behind a desk or will i be able to get deployed overseas

  • @Tuzzi223 a little bit of both.. the main role of Marine officer at the JO (Junior Officer) level, is to transmit those orders from senior officers to your SNCO's and NCO's who will then execute and carry out those orders. As far as writing orders, awards and making sure your Marines are being paid correctly, the administrative side of officership is unavoidable unfortunately lol.... hence the root office- in officer

  • @Tuzzi223 U wanna be a leader? and still be in the fight? become a SGT. lead the Grunts into battle.

  • @Rikuzano Officers are in the heat aswell.. But starting at Major, you'll see less and less combat, as you become to valuable to the Corps at that point..

  • @Tuzzi223 Be careful what you wish for because it might come true. You wanna see combat as an officer. Go Infantry. I got 4 combat tours and lots of OTW's and LIC's as a Marine. I'm retired now. Combat is something that you know you'll have to do one day in service of your country but don't wish for it. In the middle of a firefight, rounds impacting, explosions, the smell, heat and people yelling I bet you $20 and a bucket of shit, your mindset will change.

  • dang i cant wait!!

  • You always have the ones ( esp. liberals) who have never served in the military who think they know everything about military tactics and the way the military should be run and NEVER servered a day in their lives, like Nancy Pelosi, Harry Balls, and Osama Obama.... I hope we have a military veteran as our next president instead of this character who happened to become in charge of our nation's military and could care less what happens to them.....

  • @eng081194 His policy is exactly the same as GWB in Iraq the only difference is that Obama is a Democrat. A troop surge, paying off warlords a guaranteed withdrawal Bush did all of that in Iraq and just because the current CIC is "liberal" he doens't know what he is doing? FDR "liberal" sure knew what he was doing, and Ike "conservative and veteran" pulled us out of Korea.......what does it matter what party?

  • @eng081194 If you support your militairy, you WILL support your President! He may have not served his country, but he's doing it right now, as the President of the United States! What I do agree on with you is that a veteran as President knows when it's time to attack, and when it's time to retreat, all President Obama ever talks about is retreat, the job isn't finished yet, and he should let the US finish what they started.. It's called Honor, Courage & Commitment..

  • Im going To parris island this summer for BC

  • Cant wait to get that salute from my dad who will be a SgtMajor, and Im gonna cherish it too......cuz its the only time an SNCO will salute me as a butter bar :p

  • @Devilsfurry not true. if a snco refuses to salute you then you better say something to him

  • @WSHCaps00 - Yeah, he's forced to salute by regulations, but has about the same enthusiasm the color guard has when they salute Obama :)

  • @Devilsfurry not true. if a snco refuses to salute you then you better say something to him

  • @Devilsfurry not true. if a snco refuses to salute you then you better say something to him

  • @WSHCaps00 False, SNCOs often will not salute butter bars as they have not earned their respect. If you demand a salute you are getting the respect of rank, but not leadership (and you are probably a cocky and shitty officer if you demand an E-9 salutes you if they don't). I was aboard MCRD with a recently commissioned LT from my OSO to get a medical exam and they all called him sir, but a few SNCOs did not salute and it did not bother him. A SDI did salute as we went past a platoon of recruits.

  • @skibum895

It should have bothered him. You'll always have a few SNCOs test how much they can get away with over a newbie LT.

Respect starts with the rank, those of us who have been Marine Officers know it's not enough for a young officer to get the job done. You earn the individual respect over and above the rank respect.

I didn't care if they liked me, but they were damn well going to respect me.

  • I think I Can! Semper Fi! (",)

  • lol @ "lead Marines"

NCO's "lead Marines", Officers take the credit for their hard work.

    2001 - 2005 USMC 0311

  • lol @ "lead marines"

NCO's lead Marines, Officers take the credit for their hard work.

    2001 - 2005 USMC 0311

  • the royal marine commercials are better.

  • but their no match for a U.S. marine

  • Can marine Officers participate in Covert Ops in MARSOC?

  • marsoc really doesn't get much action. They aren't part of socom, so all the jobs go straight down to army and navy specials. if you want to shoot people, then if i were you I'd enlist for infantry and volunteer for ISAF.

  • Do Marine Officers participate in covert ops in MARSOC?

  • It's awesome. The Marines are just plain and simple. Kill, win get out. But the army is like, Kill, win, clean get out. I am enlisting into the Marines...

  • shyt Marines do all the Real hard work. The Army just keeps things in check after the Marines have done their job. im goen for Marines

  • USMC FTW

one more year just one more year!

  • if i join the marines or the military, could i go to college right out of boot camp?

  • VERY CUTE !

  • If you pause at 0:24 that Marine looks like Mos Def lol...

  • man in the Marines you finish your training and then you spend the next of your 2 miserable years pretending to be a janitor... come on do you want that???

    ARMY STRONG!

  • WTF do you exactly do if your an officer? Just tell people what do to on base or something?

  • @Rozzrocks666

For the most part. You tell other people what you want done and when, and let them figure out how to do it. And if you do something, you blame someone else.

  • @Rozzrocks666 Officers fill leadership positions. Some do administrative jobs, some lead in combat, some direct tech teams, ect.

  • Lead Marines into combat. That's what.

  • @Rozzrocks666 no there are many different things to do as an officer in the marines. pilot air craft like the A/V-8B harrier or the F/A-18D super hornet or lead an infantry unit its more then just barking out orders all day long its not a desk job by no means

  • "Come on, you sons of bitches! Do you want to live forever?" -

GySgt. Daniel J. "Dan" Daly, USMC

near Lucy-`le-Bocage as he led the 5th Marines' attack into Belleau Wood, 6 June 1918

  • "Few will become marines. Fewer will lead." One day I will get a chance to lead America's best. OCS class of 2015 here I come!

  • Next year in college doing the PLC course OORAH

  • Did they say Hooorah?

  • @C23456B OORAH.

  • The army needs commercials like the marines

  • correction, the army wishes they could have commercials like the marines

  • but why settle for less? marines are the best of the best, america wants the best of the best. the army is great, but no as great as the marines.

  • @BustaMonkey1234 I was a Marine for four years as an AAV crewman and Army Infantry for six years. Neither are better than the other, we each have a job to do and we are both the best at it. I hate people who say Marines or Army is better. I used to say rmy was better but now i see they are equal so dont say Marines are better because we arent but we Army Soldiers arent better either

  • @BustaMonkey1234 The Marines are the best shock force, but the Army does the long term sustaining. They have some smart guys going into their Officer corps, just from the men I've seen commission out of my college, but it might just be our college since the Army program has the same great rep.

  • @BustaMonkey1234 SAS would kick the ass

  • oh yeah high school class of 2013 planning on becoming a marine officer wish me luck :D

  • @cacapipichichipupu you have college after if you want to be a marine officer, do PLT. im in it right now its the way to go. good luck man

  • how much do you have to pay for join the marines officer?

  • @Topulis91 The Marine Corps pays you.

  • @Topulis91 get a degree first of all, all officers in any branch must have a college degree. The you have to go to a recruiter and ask about becoming an officer. You go through 3 schools at the minimum: Officer Candidate school (standard among every branch), The Basic School (since every Marine is a rifleman primarily, you must learn how to lead riflemen anda a fire team, etc.), and then your specialty school(s) i.e. flight training for pilots (which actually is yet another set of schools.)

  • if i remember correctly topulis91, if u already have a degree, U WILL GET PAID to become an officer, even during officer candidate school when you're trying out, you will get paid. but dont let the pay motivate you. to become a Marine officer and make it through OCS, you have to want the title and the honor with every bit of your soul. unlike the other branches, you don't join for the money, you join for the honor!

  • @nwulphie43 lol i don't think anybody joins a military branch for the money.

  • @nwulphie43 These days the officer way is some of the best money you can make on a steady basis. Damn, If I'm right 0-4 pays more or as much as Sergeant Major. and those generals make 100k+

  • @nwulphie43 You get paid as an E-5 as an officer candidate during training, which i believe now is about 1900/month.

  • ROTC baby! Want to go right now. 2015

  • that's what she said :D

  • many have tried but only few survived, not everybody can do good for their country only a few and the brave ,build your confidence here and find out yourself whats behind in that title that keeps them moving on

  • not everybody can be good only a few, the best of the best thing in life is here. if you want the world to see you join the marines

  • not every can be good only a few, the best of the best, if you want the world to see you join the marines, someone has to do it

  • not everybody can be good only a few, the best of the best, if you want the world to see you, join the marines, the US marines are very popular here in the philippines

  • My senior drill instructor once said to me "There's a difference between 'commanding marines' and actually 'leading marines'.

  • I checked into the first civ div today. i had to report to sgt major sofa. and than I visited mr hash

  • Got the big 5 days left. Officers aren't that much better than enlisted. Enlisted do all the bitch work while the officers cah in on it

  • this kinda pisses me off i dont want some kid from a good school bossing me around cuss thay may lead but have thay earned it by going to combat no thay earn it by going to school. its a good programe but it get used and marines get killed.

  • only 10% of the military are actual combatants. think about that.

  • you really need to go back to school to learn how to spell.

  • dude think of this in canadian army the sgts somtimes yell at the LT. if hes new. and the CWOs yell at the CPTs, in this army its all about experiance.CWO may b 2IC but he has the know how.

  • Th idea is not to die for your country but make some poor bastard die for his

  • The few, the proud (HOOAH) The marines !

  • AAAhhhh look at all the college drunks try and play marine

  • Makes me want to join up. Except I'm just barely too old. Oh well, I'll have to settle for Navy OCS. But, man... this makes me wish I had gone to college just a few years earlier.

  • That uniform right there is convincing enough for me to become an officer. And yeah the sword which is pretty bad ass!

  • Become an officer. Don't ever listen to your corporals or sergeants and have a cocky air of confidence about yourself because you graduated college, OCS, and TBS. You will know everything there is to know about everything. It doesn't matter that some of your Marines have already been overseas twice. You're smarter than them and you need to let them know that at all times even when you're reading your map wrong or incorrectly calling for fire. Former. infantry Sgt.

  • i didnt think it was possible to be sarcastic in text. you did a pretty damn good job at knocking officers. i dont appreciate a grunt speaking ill of officers, yeah some might be ads you say, but not all. damn right officers know what they are doing. my father wouldnt ask his marines to one damn thing he wouldnt do. maybe you never had a good CO, maybe that, but dont knock them all because you are some pissed grunt. Chesty Puller and Nathaniel C. Fick- tell them what you think of officers

  • i just have a question because im deciding on enlisting or becoming commissioned....

what is your opinion about an enlisted Marine who goes through MECEP or goes through other steps to become an officer? still same stereotype?

  • become an officer and get better pay!!! titan auto!!!!!!

  • Gonna be commissioned officer as well but Annapolis naval academy first though. Mainly wanted to become a naval/marine aviator. Please bring back the F-14! I understand about the money issue but they should upgrade it or turn it into a Valkryie lol.

  • Enlisted but recruiter's commanders are having me apply for NROTC. Not sure what I want to follow yet...

  • really they can force you to do that??

  • yeah, can't wait to go enjoy my life

  • w us marines

  • got 1 miserable little month left and than i'm out. meanwhile u boot butter bars enjoy the good life

  • lol

  • Do any of you guys know people that went from a UC school or a IVY school, and move into the marines?

  • yea i know a few people that wen to college before marine corps.some want to be officers others didnt know what they really wanted in life

  • I know a couple of the officers in my battalion did.

  • Yes

  • I'm almost out. but in my experiences officers aren't that much better than enlisted. You know the old butter bar joke.

    Q) Whats the difference between a butter bar and a pfc.

    A) Fire Watch

  • don't get me wrong my ssgt. and my gunny are some of the best leaders i've ever met; i'm just against the blanket statement that all officers are over rated.

  • well I'm pretty sure marine enlisted would do just fine without officers. I do like officers don't get me wrong. I just don't think they do so much to we should bow at there feet like lap dogs

  • they dont all they do is salute
