Besides, in case none of you have done a YouTube search before, people are making Castlevania characters all over the place in "Soul Calibur III." So this game was not only inevitable, but a great idea!!!! Now..... only to see how well they actually make it is the question. Until then, accept it. (Why would so many people make Belmonts, and Alucard and Dracula in Soul Cal 3 if they didn't want to fight as them in a game?) I'm just saying: give it a shot. Makes sense, right?

This game does NOT suck. And for those who think he's entitled to his "opinion," HE'S NOT. The game's not even out yet, so you don't know ANYTHING about it. If you like Castlevania or fighting games, give it a shot. I know I'm buying it when it comes out. Besides, it's not like Iga doesn't know we want a "normal" Castlevania for Wii. For all we know it's in the works right now. Truly, it's refreshing to see the franchise branch out for fun. As the series improves, enjoy its spin-offs.

Castlevania "Maria" was created BEFORE the Death Note "Maria". Simon as well.

Death Note wasn't even in making when those two characters appeared in Castlevania games. Therefore, Death Note could only rip off from Castlevania, not the other way around.

Yea but I see what they're talking about... The way Maria and Simon look in this game look pretty drastically different than they did in other games. Simon's face is a damn near carbon copy of how Light looks in DN, and Maria in other games either looked like a refined grown woman or a young girl with long flowing hair and a pink dress... I've never seen her with pigtails or a tight body suit until this game.

However you look at it, there are tons of anime characters that look alike - even from different drawing authors.

So if you haven't watched Death Note, would you (not "you" directly, but anyone) say that they're a ripoff from Chrno Crusade or maybe Gunslinger Girl, Madlax?

You'd be amazed to see if you carefully watch/play lots of anime/games; many characters bear incredible likeness and that doesn't make them ripoffs

I'm well aware of what style is, and that's not what I was talking about. Simon and Maria already had concrete character models that were consistent throughout the series. The fact that these characters, MARIA in particular, look so drastically different (Pig tails? Body suit? Evil anime girl face?)... I say that's what makes it plausible.

No big deal, I can just see why people would make that sort of connection.
