  • fear those terrans who know to micro those vultures

  • you lose as much vultures as dragoons

  • thats why it says theoretical idiots

  • i hate lame bw videos on youtube :S

this is just simple shitty and newby any d+ lamer can do this

  • well, cool micro, but if you're playing someone your level and you can do this, chances are they'll be able to notice and bring their goons back, unless you are like d+ and can do this, but if you are, you better work on macro or other stuff instead considering this will only win a few rare games at best

and also all the hotkeys... takes a little bit to set up and then you have to rehotkey other stuff if you use hotkeys normally, so cloning would work better

  • @Yorosmai

lol sorry for the really old comment reply, but this is actually done alot in Korean pro gaming, where pro players do this during mass battles. The enemy player is so distracted with all the other stuff going on that they could send in a few vultures and plant some mines right in front of small groups of units to think the enemy numbers.

  • @chaklong huh... but I'd assume pros notice, I mean I've seen them notice like multiple storm drops during battles, but either way its awesome :D

  • its this 1i2i3i4i5i6i7i8i gotta be rly fast bet none of u cant do this beside pro gamers

  • @TheBalrogzH he sends all at first

  • from these comments it can be clear that no one thinks innovation is important anymore. Sad people.

  • No need for hotkeys if you have HACKSS lmfao

  • try shift its faster and 1 hotkey

  • Using shift = less hotkeys wasting? :D

  • fuck you bitches i have done that shit before... and only had one group of hotkeyed vultures. just practice it...

  • but does your one group of vults just lay mines in a random mass, or are the mines as perfectly placed as this guy did it? The only way i could see one control group selected leaving mines as well layed out would be to ctrl-click...

  • @lookoutforthatrock

yes i spread the mines out. but goons are never in a clump like that, they're spread out... unless you only play noobs....

  • leave about 3-4 vults there so that mines arent attacked

  • its a good idea. but only if the enemy is cornerd.

its useless putting the mines there if u can just walk backwards n shoot.

  • Indeed. very nice trick nontheless.

  • idiot... try doing this trick without binding all those vultures...

  • he meant he didn't use ALL of his hotkeys, not that the vultures weren't bound to a control group. But maybe that is the only hotkey you know and thus they are sinonimous to you: hotkey = control group. Fucking retards.

  • Doing this without hotkeying is really no problem. I guess i'd even kill more goons than this guy did.

  • so did he bind each individual vulture to its own control group?

  • yes he did which is a good tactic for what he was doing but it would only work for a very select encounters like this mos tof the time there isnt alot of free room for such things or time but its possible and indiviual control groups was a good idea

  • I don't see how this above post got thumb down-ed. I do see his logic. In a macro and micro intensive game you probably don't have time to do all this hot keying. You'd need hot keys for other units as well as buildings.

I think this doesn't give *that* big of an advantage as opposed to micro-ing the vultures for their mines when they do reach the enemy forces.

  • yuh this basically wouldn't work at all in a real game.

better ways to use hotkeys + time than this micro trick, + enemy micro defeats it when they..... move back :/

  • Looks like the vultures are hotkeyed, couldn't you just clone them?

  • Very nice =).

  • I highly doubt this would work in a real combat situation considering:

    1. Most people move away

    2. You won't always know where the enemy is to place mines

    3. It takes up valuable hotkeys which can be otherwise used for macro purposes

    4. It's just a plain hasel

  • Amazingly People do use this tactic in real life, it's especially common among Korean tournamnet players. Unfortunately I don't have any names to cite, though I'm sure a browse through some of their videos will show it.

  • famous terran player nambed boxer uses it althought he normally uses rines na dstuff like that

  • 1 you can place the mines behind the enemy making them pay for an eventual retreat.

2 good scouting is the key.

3 well, you can always use a simpler version and hotkey the vultures to one button, it would still work somewhat.

4 Boxer and other pro terrans can do it effectively.

  • I meant using individual hotkeys for mine "Perfect" mine placement. Mines are common place in most PvT and TvT, but you don't see people standing around and letting you position a line of mines infront of you. The effectiveness of mines are situationally exaggerated in this

  • I see. Well then I agree with you.

  • Yes, but this makes them retreat a bit, and lose some units/hp in the process. When they retreat, you can get a better position to destroy him or have more time to do whatever you wish to do.

    Ex:

-Tanks not ready yet, still have a long way to go and toss units are pushing out.

-Vultures surround him with mines and they retreat.

-toss units are delayed and some lost.

    -Tanks in position.

    -toss falls back more.

You don't need to get a perfect mine placement to distract or kill a hell lot of units.

  • I never implied that mines aren't useful. Infact, mines are a key in any TvP (or TvT). They keep the protoss from mobilizing (effectivly at least) until they have observers

  • Nada vs some other Terran guy. The other Terran guy sieges his tanks, Nada instantly moves his vultures forward and places a couple of mines to kill the tanks quickly

  • it was xellos

  • if you manage to kill an entire goon force, its definately worth the sweep, vultures, and the loss of the hotkeys.

  • @damastaownage yeah but check out how fast this guy can do it. you just need the APM and an opportunity

  • It is a good idea but the vultures need to draw the enemy fire to get the most out of it.

  • So you get rid of all your keybindings to lay mines that the vultures would have done anyway if they were in the 195 x 195 pixel "magic box"

  • most people would move the dragoons away anyway

  • hey how do u choose each one?? in order to melee

  • Ctrl + 1 (or any number)

you can fastkey you're units that way....

    are you talking about that?

  • hahaha n1

  • Idiots who say noob only know how to rush.

Micro can beat rush anyday of the freaking week.

  • LOL NICE TEST GOOD JOB

  • this has no meaning in real life.. anyone can do that if the goons are clumped up and dont move

and u see the goons vision in that practise map

  • Who would have time to control group all those vultures BEFORE the fight?

  • Yeah, in a real battle this would be almost impossible (against somebody good). You have to scout all the time, the enemy has to be standing still, you need enough space (vultures like blocking each other) AND you need the time for the preparations. :/

  • @TigerYoshiki

  • @chaklong Thanks for your comment. I really appreciate your information. This is even more impressive in that case. :)

  • HOW DOES HE DO THAT?? PLS REPLY*

  • Micro.

  • hehe this video is saving lives of vultures every year XD

  • Ok... all you people who comments saying... thats noob.. thats easy shit etc etc.... just shut the fuck up... if you already know how to do it... then piss off instead of posting lame comments.

  • XAXAXA nsty but effective

  • not very practical

  • anyone can do that.. you noob

  • Heh, interesting. Though the 2nd theory didn't work, you still have some pretty good mine speed.

  • man are you korean방장을 잘보거라

  • Probably not. Grouping each vult on a ctrl isn't very practical ...

  • U people are noobs. you just need to tag each unit by pressing crtl 1 then select next unit and press crtl2 ... then crtl3 etc. etc. And you'll have that unit selected via hot key.

  • how did you do that? i thought you had to select all, then unselect one, and repeat.

  • that was ease u shift it NOOBS!

  • have you found practical uses for 10 vultures with a control group each?

  • MyDigitalToss made this, don't take his credit.

  • good strat, except when it's against other player their goons actually move >.>

  • hey thats very interesting :)

  • how do u do that? T_T

  • amazing
