  • Okay after researching images and types of cobras in that area I am positive its a Red spitting cobra which makes me wonder why it got close to the adder. A cape would have killed it and have been known to eat adders. And lastly this seems like a territorial fight. Either the adder intruded on the cobras den or the cobra moved into the adders territory and they had a hissy fit. But amazing footage man its a rare encounter.

  • whos the winner?

  • capture is very nice. but who wins, the end should also be added

  • The Puff Adder is the shorter one, and a bite from one of those can kill a man in 20 Mins flat!

  • wait so which died.

  • which one is cape cobra ?

  • Holy mother of God that's a long snake

  • so what was the end result?

  • If I remember correctly, both snakes have neurotoxin venom, and if that's the case, they just might be immune to each other's bites. Now if one has a hemotxin venom, and the other a neurotoxin, then they can both die.

  • who won????????????????????????/

  • are these venomous snakes immune to each others venom?

  • why u didn't finish the fight so that we could know who won?

  • who won lol

  • That's a definitely a Puff Adder, they crawl like a slug as opposed to sliding. The other one looks to be a Cape Cobra. Up in Vredendal they're every where.

  • I HATE CAPE COBRAS, IT KILLED FLOWER ON MEERKAT MANOR

  • LCA is right it's a red spitting cobra.

  • @SkietOrdeBoervolk Red spitting cobras are not found in the western cape nor in mountainous areas so u are both wrong

  • lol cobra xD xD xD it was a snake called viper boa not venomous.....

would this be a spitter that would pwn a puffy...a few in the face and puffy is running like forrest gump

  • Thats a fat ass snake

  • its not a cape cobra

    i know that for sure

    its a red spitting cobra

  • its a red spitting cobra

  • @msg1711 what kinda snake then?

  • @LegendzComboApe1993 It's definitely a Cape Cobra, one killed my dad's grandfather when he was a child. They use to lie out on the grass on our farm in Namibia. That's the only snake apart from the B;lack Mamba that can be that long, but they are way rarer and greyish.

  • who won? Why not show the complete fight?? If it was a Cobra then the Puff Adder will be eaten after the fight )

  • @RealZanzi

Cobra is too long for puff.. Even if he manages to kill her...

  • Brave little puff..

  • who won

  • possibly a red spitting cobra.

  • who won??

  • @samueltromp Don't comment on things I am unsure about? You couldn't be further from the truth if you tried. Its morons like you that give serious snake keepers a bad name. Its becuase of morons like you that I'm constantly having to defend my hobby/career. No one was being mean/sarcastic/crass and then your narrow minded self came along.

  • @samueltromp You illiterate son of a b*tch... How can you possibly give advice on reptiles when you can barely manage the english language and a keyboard?Chiconspiracy is more than correct that they can be brown even black etc. Do youself a favor, and let me spell this for you: G O O G L E. Once you figure out how to use google image search, go google Cape Cobra and see the different colours that come up. You had a snake that kept its hood up at all time??? Where do you come up with this sh*t?

  • jule alamal is poese dit is u koper kapel ( cape Cobra) dit het verskilende kleure in verskilende profinsies

  • The brown snake is not a cape cobra. They are yellow and would have taken the puff adder out in a heartbeat. I have a video of just such an encounter in the Kalahari. The cobra took the puff with venom and then swallowed him whole. Took about 30 mins for the complete meal.

  • haha i just love the afrikaneri accent "eet eez vyenommus"

  • @preserverofislam I don't think so!

  • @7thMarch1987 ?? didnt get u

  • @preserverofislam The accent - you described a French accent. None of the people on this video spoke as you described. :-)

  • @7thMarch1987 errr.....dunno :) but i just loved that line

  • Would have been nice to have the video extend to a conclusion. Chances of a Puff Adder surviving a battle with a Cobra are literally zero.

  • it has the color of an inland taipan maybe its that

  • @bcausevic22 No Taipans in South Africa - That's an Australian snake.

These two are a very large Puff Adder and a Brown Cobra

  • Comment removed

  • doesnt look like a cobra because ther is no hood plus its too brown to be a cobra the puff adder owned that thing

  • @samueltromp wasn't 100% sure if it was a Cape Cobra. Any ideas what it might be?

  • @sirspense

Don't listen to samueltromp, it IS a cape cobra. Cobras do not usually go around with their hood out. They can definitely be brown, in fact, they can range from nearly black to bright yellow, and some have spots. I can tell from the shape of the head, definitely a cobra. Also, the puff adder did not "own" it, Cobras are highly resistant to puff adder venom, and they enjoy eating them.

  • @sirspense It is a Cape Cobra.

  • @sirspense an overgrown earthworm heheh and YES to the asker of is it puff adder venomous, any snakes constricts, just de constrictors kills by constriction

  • @samueltromp it is a cobra at 45 you see his neck flat out

  • @samueltromp It is a Cape Cobra. Their colours change depending on their localities and they only display their hood when threatened as a warning. When hunting, moving etc there is no hood visible.

  • @samueltromp well some cobras are verry brown and the hood is there its just not completley spred out.... but yeah i agree the puff adder destroyed it XD

  • this looks like it was filmed in the western cape correct? i can here aither a coloured in the back or a afrikaaner

  • Looks Like Again The Cobra Takes Down Another Snake The Adder Was Dying Upside Down !!

  • It might look like the adder is winning, but if that is a cobra, he'll be dead soon. Cobras like eating them, and are highly resistant to puff adder venom.

  • dude thats sweet! i would love to see something like this!

  • Cape Cobra and Puff Adder!

  • i think thats a cape mountain adder/berg adder or u can call it a mountain adder.... i would like to find out what the other snake is called.

  • Seems like the Puff Adder, although much shorter, is the winner

  • Wow! Both scary and exciting at the same time. Natural history film crews would probably wait weeks for something like that to happen.
