it kinda looks like you took a shit on the blocks and called it photorealistic,

i mean, the hd textures are pretty and all, i just think a good 32x32 or 64x64 is best, it looks really good, runs perfectly, (no frame rate issues, crashes), i dunno, its just my opinion,

TO everyone experiencing errors:

blackscreen: run mcpatcher or if u did try other steps

run out of memory or simply crash:

if you have a 64 bit windows, instal proper version of 64 bits java, allocate more memory to java, and in patcher options java heap choose 2048 instead of 1024.

This may look complicated, but its simple. Just google: allocate more memory to java. Or java 64 bit..

Funny how I can run Civilization 5 on only medium to high graphics (only shadows and 1 other thing is on low), but running 256x256 in Minecraft says that Minecraft has run out of memory.

This texture pack looks amazing, but distant landscapes can look really grainy. I tried installing the mipmapping mod, but it isn't compatible with this texture pack. =(

Also, something else is really weird: I'll get about 60 FPS with this, but the chunk update is at about 10-15... what's up with that?

I can run Crysis on Very High with a relatively smooth framerate but 256x256, for some reason, goes to hell on my computer. Either this is somehow MORE stressful than Crysis on Very High, or this just isn't all that well optimized. 128x128 gives me no problems, though.

128x128 is 4 times less than 256x256, so you would need 4 times more memory, but it is not really related to ram as much as it is related to video memory, ram is only important for remembering where is which block, but video ram is used 4 times as much though o.o

@XTaintedOneX I had the same problem as it was a texture plack conflict, just delete your minecraft folder and start minecraft again, it will all remake itself, you just have to reinstall your mods

@XTaintedOneX If your computer is a 64bits, don't forget to add the 64bits version of java... Before, I had only the 32bits for my computer (64bits) and when I tried this texture pack I had like 25 - 35 fps now I have 55 - 80 fps :D
