I'm a bit late here, but here are my thoughts. I don't think the show is dead. There are as many things to do as there are shitty games and consoles waiting to be reviewed. Recently he has returned to his 'basic' style without too many cheesy effects and story lines and I like that. As for the movie... I hope he doesn't overdo it with the epic battles and stuff.
I don't see why the Nerds career is over. Sure his reviews aren't on the same level but thats due to his work on the movie. I will always prefer the original reviews like Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th, but that doesnt make the new reviews automatically bad.
My personal thoughts on the matter, I think the AVGN as a show is dead, but I do hope he does well with his movie. It's his dream, isn't it? I'd hope for anyone's dream to be fulfilled.
Besides, TGWTG didn't write the script, James did, and he wrote it back when the AVGN was good. Hopefully we get the best case scenario.

@daggerrun I don't think AVGN is over at all. There is no shortage of bad games in the world. And he said that the movie isn't going to be a two hour game review. He described it as being like Wayne's World, it's about the show but it's not an actual episode of it. And the reason his newer videos aren't as good is because the movie's being made. He's making less time consuming and simpler videos because he's too busy with the movie.

Seriously though, the only thing that can be decent about this movie is the fact that James Rofle has good camerawork and an actual eye for shots and angles, unlike Doug Walker, who has the cinematography skills of a dude with a foot fetish filming his girlfriend go topless.
i will not be surprised if you start doing "playful jab videos" towards the irate gamer as well lol. then again he has enough people hating on him already. besides...you, daggerrun, are not a troll looking for something to hate blindly like a lemming...i.e. you are not dumb.

Wow. TGWTG is handling auditions? LOL. I'm pretty sure hiring The Blockbuster buster and The Distressed Watcher alone proves how completely incapable they are at judging talent and character. Also how can such terrible writers and actors judge someone else's acting? Oh wait...they do that every frickin day.

That might be a problem considering the Distressed Watcher left in September of 2011 so I don't know why you think he would be hired if he left. And BB Buster is still new on the site and doing reviews. Not sure where you are getting your info because I don't think they would freaking hire DW for anything.

I just think hiring DW and the Block Buster Buster for their site showed TGWTG has poor judgment for talent and character. i.e. They make bad hiring decisions, yet they're in charge of James' cast...which likely will lead to a terrible cast.
@Thorbie Oh you know Doug is gonna shoehorn himself into this film, he a cam whore, and an ad whore, and if he smells cash he's gonna jump for it. My prediction is Doug, Angry Joe, and Linkara will make brief cameos in the AVGN movie, except for Spoony, he will not be in the AVGN movie because he is dieing of cancer of the everything.

As for the BB, I haven't seen many of his videos that much to make a well-rounded decision. But I am totally on the boat with your thoughts on DW and that it was a horrible mistake in thier decision, not only that, I wasn't all that surprise he had a piss-pour fanbase to the point that no one noticed or cared that he was fired. And good riddence I say, lol.
