  • NFL COMMERCIAL SWAG DOE

  • Nagyon klasz, sosem lehet elfelejteni. :-)

  • I'd like to point out she's tapping in heels.

Not quite as impressive as Gene tapping in roller skates, but still!

  • There should be more dancing with coats...

  • My babysitter used to always sing this song :)

  • when a producer/director doesn't have dazzling special effects at his fingertips, he has to use talented people.

I'm rather hoping that one day, they'll COMBINE today's latest special effects with some really good, old school talent and make movies worth watching.

    Dammit.

  • I want a time machine

  • I like the part when they sing "Good morning!"

What a lovely piece of art! I am 22 and just watched the movie, and loved it.

Someone should slap me for not watching this movie earlier

  • How could anyone stay in a grumpy mood after seeing such a classic movie? Always puts a smile on my face :)

  • Goedemorgen!!!!

  • There's something about that first "Good morning" that turns me on.

  • dang. how could people dance in heels like that??

  • Haha I thought the Tropicana commercial song sounded familiar.

  • Thumbs up if Family Guy brought you here

  • @fulton8or Tropicana brought me here :P.

  • @lexisdope i agree with you

  • Am I the only one who believes Gene Kelly HIGHLY resembles Matthew McConaughey in this film?? I couldn't stop thinking that the whole movie!

  • @lexisdope Except Gene Kelly came first, so Matthew McConaughey resembles him. :)

  • @Punkeddrama Haha well of course, you know what I meant though!

  • @lexisdope Apples and oranges my friend. One is a staggeringly handsome actor who in his pinky finger has more talent than 3/4 of Hollywood today. The other is Matthew McConaughey.

  • @caitiez19 Me saying they resemble each other has nothing to do with their level of performance or capability of acting. I was speaking strictly on physical characteristics...

I swear, someone is always ready to jump down your throat with an argument on youtube these days! Relax!

  • @lexisdope I was just joking, I understand your point. I meant to highlight the unfortunate lack of talent in Hollywood today as compared to years past, not to insult you or "jump down your throat". I apologize for offending you though.

  • @caitiez19 No harsh feelings! Thank you for the clarification though! and I do agree with you on the industries blurred vision on talent today, nothing beats these classics. :)

  • @lexisdope That's for sure. :)

  • Perfection

  • I couldn't even fathom how hard this must have been!! Long live Gene and Donald! Debbie was iyt.

  • What astounds me about the quality of this and most of the great musicals of back in the day, are the long and beautiful camera shots. You NEVER EVER find this in film anymore, especially especially in movie musicals. LOVE!!!!

  • Donald O'Connor cute

  • =D Un talent expetionnel !! Ils étaient merveilleux !

Tout les matins en me reveillant, je n'aurais pas le courage de faire le boulot monstre qu'ils ont préparés pendant des mois pour seulement 3 minutes, mais gégniales c[:

  • Has anyone ever used props better than Donald O'Connor? MAYBE Fred Astaire... Definitely not anybody who is still dancing, acting, or singing at the top of their game.

  • @larsgundy Donald was truly amazing and a one-of-a-kind talent!!!!!

  • Today's movies are just about dating and hangovers, I like the good old days when people were more talented and entertaining.

  • the part they are dancing on the stairs it's so amazing

  • Musical entertainment greatness doesn't get better than this! Three legends together performing in a way that will never be repeated. No matter how many times I watch this, it leaves me speechless......

  • look how long, complex and perfect the takes 1:16 is..

  • mate Debbie reynolds had some balls to dance like that in heels.

  • haha i love family guy!

  • great performers....

  • Debbie was never known as a dancer - she only danced in a few movies and nothing of the complexity that Donald and Gene could do. It is to her credit that she was able to keep up with two of the most incredible dancers - Donald and Gene - in this number.

  • very nice

  • Debbie must not of developed dancer's feet yet, or something because if anyone should be complaining it should be Gene & Donald after "Moses Supposes." She danced her little heart out, but you HAD to if you wanted to be on film alongside Gene Kelly.

I kind of wish she would have kept her little gripes to herself. Any professional dancer can probably say that their feet have bled in their shoes at some point.

  • @lynseypdxda haha, well, the woman is dancing in HEELS... do you see gene n donald wearing heels?

  • Comment removed

  • @naamhier Did not hear Gene complaining after dancing in roller skates for four days...not to mention Gene was 40 years old and Debbie was 19 when "Singing in the Rain" was filmed.

  • Name me three stars today that could do this?? No just two will do!

  • @onebaud

    You're so wright, nobody actually.

  • @onebaud how about Niel Patrick Harris and Matthew Morrison

  • No, even back then, Donald, Gene, and Fred were in a class by themselves - talent of that caliber is truly amazing. Donald was more than a triple threat - he was a fantastic dancer, a really wonderful singer - a much better voice than Gene or Fred -listen to his duet with Ethel Merman in Call Me Madam - it's mesmerizing and his recordings with Bing Crosby..., he was a terrific actor, an amazing comedian, and a pratfall artist. As a producer said, Donald's name backwards would be TALENT!!

  • Back in the day, an actor had to be a triple threat to make it! Nowadays as long as you LOOK good you'll do fine. >.<

  • Why cant we have those kind of talents these days?

  • Ask today actors to do it...

  • @Holdemaster lol

This films is an example of true movies stars as compared with film stars of today.

Back then, you had to be able to do everything and if you did not know how, the companies would hire people to teach you, fact.

  • The way she looks at Donald at the end... :)

One of my favorite movies. See, not all teenagers like kesha and katy perry.

  • @umliikewoahh She goes well with Donald - but who wouldn't LOVE Donald:))))

  • @umliikewoahh Yes, you can tell that she goes better with Donald - who wouldn't love him?:)))))

  • @umliikewoahh Have you seen Gene Kelly & Julie Andrews do The Tapping Game

  • @umliikewoahh

same here - I don't even like Kesha!!

  • @umliikewoahh Thank god, I'm not the only one!!

  • Amazingly fluid. On point for all

  • its so nice and yet so unnatural

  • Oh my gosh...the dancing! I had forgotten how great the dancing was in some of these old movies. Gene Kelly was my favorite, although I liked Donald O'Connor and Fred Astaire, too.

  • Donald is sooooo adorable and soooooo talented!!!!

  • My goodness what has happened to real entertainment? Long live TCM

  • This is great entertainment. Debbie makes it look easy as do they all. She is really young here.

  • Just to watch all the talent. It's amazing

  • I can't even express how much I adore this! I can't get enough of Debbie Reynold's voice!

  • Funny thing is: there are no taps on their shoes!

  • @mkb143 They dub the taps later. Donald and Gene - brilliant dancers - dubbed their own, of course. Donald and Gene had to dub Debbie's taps.

  • She's still as cute as a button!

  • 2 people were danced off the stage :)

These people know how to dance!

  • The Viagra song!

  • Did these three just have a three-way? I'm so confused.

  • movies are not what they used to be.....thats a shame.

I love Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds!!!!

lol.....i also remembered family guy. haha

  • family guy lol

  • Ask today actors to do it =(

  • @Holdemaster soooo true :(

  • @Holdemaster We did this in our summer teen play, and it was pretty damn good.

  • @Holdemaster I Have! Ahh, how I wish I grew up then.

  • indeed it is great to stay up late :)

  • awhh :)

  • and you know it's more amazing than the dance scenes in movies thesedays because they do half the amount of camera angle changes, seriously half of this is all in one take...

  • She did everything Fred Astaire did and backwards XD

  • Comment removed

  • @selainestarr And in high heels XD

  • I love this song!!!! I fell in love with this movie the very first time i saw it years and years ago!! one of the best and funniest with Gene Kelly! and a friend actually met Debbie Reynolds once in London!...Good Morning and smiles to all from Pakistan!! :))

  • lol haha loveedddd this in family guy

  • Holy cow...

  • THAT´S DANCING!!! not those obscene movements kids do nowadays.

  • Good Morning, Buon Giorno, Guten Morgen, Bonjour, Buenos Dias to all You Wonderful and Beautiful People!!

  • I´m be happy and smiling when I se they dancing..I have se this film many time´s..love it :D

  • We believe it is important to point out all secret hidden homosexuals who pretend to be str8!

  • @mrspatrickcampbell And he had the wives and children just for show? Skip it! It's sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @mrspatrickcampbell Has the world gone mad!? Have you, people, nothing else to do but track homosexuality everywhere and in every person!? Think hard - it helps!!!!

  • funny I'm not trying to be a pervert or nothing like that but ,i don't she how she danced while in a dress and which was kind of short? anyhow the dance was nice but i wonder did Bojangles Robinson taught them that dance?

  • Does anyone know in which songs was she dubbed? (besides 'movie in the movie' scenes, of course)

  • @catwomanpl1 lostvocals3's Channel -"I always thought that Debbie sang this finale, since she sang this song in an earlier deleted scene, and since she sings the version of "Singin' in the Rain" that comes right before it. But comparing her two takes with the one in the film makes it clear that Betty Noyes dubbed her for this song. Here's one of the takes of her original vocal, along with an alternate ending (no chorus)."

This is Debbie's real voice which was dubbed in the movie.

    lostvocals3

  • lol, classic film, wish they still made them like this these days :P

  • Good mornin'!

  • meghalok, úgy imádom ezt a filmet, pláne ezt a jelenetet

  • lol say this on family guy

  • From the 1952 movie Singin' in the Rain

  • Not only could Gene dance and sing...he was cute too! A triple threat! Can you imagine how hard it had to have been to dance down those stairs?!!

  • Wonderful actress. Why did she have to play in an episode of Rosanne in the 90's?? Ugh.

  • @ctmjmj because like most no-talents, she's broke!

  • woah, what a work out at 1:30 in the morning. XD

  • ooh gene kelly...

  • @channonize

Isn't he amazing? Love him, love him, love him!!!!

  • I never get tired of seeing this number and this movie.

  • love this movie!!!!!

  • Gene Kelly the best dancer ever eat your heart out Fred Astaire

  • Gene Kelly must have gotten so much pussy back then. I can only imagine.

  • @RadiantSilverlighter Well, Gene Kelly was 40 at the time and married to Betsy Blair, so I wouldn't be so sure.

  • @D94ab just because he was married and 40 doesn't mean that that the vaj wasn't being thrown at him.

  • @RadiantSilverlighter

Gene was a faithful husband and father who was still happily married at this point. Now, this does not negate the fact that women wanted him and tried to make him stray. 40 year old Gene was still sexy, athletic Gene. If I were "that" type of woman, I would've been at the front lines, vying for his attention. Gene was THAT gorgeous!

  • @kellyakabilly

When you're right, you're right. Well said! I see your name in a lot on Gene Kelly postings; didn't think it was EVER possible to find someone who's more crazy about Gene than myself; you have fabulous taste in men & talent! LOL!

  • @hellasexy22

Thank you! I see you around, commenting on Gene pretty frequently as well. I do admit I'm crazy about the guy, if that wasn't already obvious ;) Glad to hear someone shares my taste.

  • @RadiantSilverlighter LOL! Too funny! I hear plenty was "thrown" his way & people were just giving it away! I see why becz he was hella-fine. Frank Sinatra, however, didn't waste any time at all & was not shy either! (With all due respect, of course!)

  • This is an example of REAL talent!! :-)

  • There is a video of Dancing in the rain that Youtuber " Breton2Robert " posted with Supertramp music. The video is called " Its raining (Dancing in the rain ) Again. Gene Kelly is perfectly timed with Supertramp music...Wonderful piece of video

  • Comment removed

  • @tomthefunky Admittedly this is the best musical EVER!!! But Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was British and it is AMAZING!!!

  • estos si son artistas

  • tap dancing in heels.. ouch

  • After shooting the "Good Morning" routine, Reynolds' feet were bleeding. Years later, she was quoted as saying that making this film and surviving childbirth were the two most difficult experiences of her life.

  • @antananarivo201 Not to be pedantic, but i think the quote was that Gene Kelly used to make her rehearse and rehearse till her feet bled... Amazing to think that she'd never tap danced before she got the part though.

  • @antananarivo201 Debbie R. needs to stop the nonsense becz great things happened to her since Singin' in the Rain. Thank Gene Kelly for making you a bankable ingenue, forgive him for the rough treatment & please, please stop it already! Love her but the man personally & publicly apologized already, dag man!

  • @antananarivo201

Can you imagine that she was only 16 when she did this. You are right about her feet but you would never see the pain in any of those routines. WoW

  • @dianadrb No, she was older. She was born in 1932, so when she starred in 'Singin' in the rain', she was 19. She started her film career at 16, I think.

  • @catwomanpl1 my god she is 19? she is amazing

  • @antananarivo201 I believe it!

  • @antananarivo201 ...and she made it look as easy as pie, and did it with a smile! wow

  • Comment removed

  • @antananarivo201 Debbie Reynolds needs to get over it; it made her a star ever since Singin' In the Rain. No doubt that Kelly worked her hard & Reynolds worked hard throughout her career, but C'mon Man! Enough of the talk already!

  • @hellasexy22 she did get over it though it was pretty well-documented how much of a difficult experience it was for her. Gene Kelly himself said he was horrible to her and was surprised at how friendly she was with him after it was over. He admitted he never wanted to use her because she had no actual dance background and on occasion reduced her to tears.

At least the two put it behind them and gave us this wonderful movie! XD

  • @hellasexy22 Why so critical? All she is saying is that it was a difficult thing for her to do. That doesn't mean she's not over it. She was a 19 year old kid, for God's sake, and wet behind the ears. Look how fantastic she did for someone w/o proper training and up against Kelly and O'Connor no less. Kelly didn't want her in the role and she felt the pressure and worked her butt off. Now it's considered the greatest musical of all time, and the beginning of her iconic career.

  • love this song!

  • this is one of my favorite movies and i can remember trying to copy the tap dancing....it kinda failed...but this is my favorite dance number from the movie!!!

  • i looove the pink hat that Gene has :)):)):))

  • @alinamugur Wait a second, Gene isn't the one with the pink hat. It's Donald O'Connor!

...otherwise, I agree with the initial comment :]

  • how can they not fall or trip on those steps like what?!?!?!?!!? this is classic!!!!

  • Debbie Reynols actually DID fall a lot. :P

  • i knew it!!!!! they're still human and can fall!!!!! haha!!

  • LOL XD

  • I love the tap dancing!

  • Amazing dancers, amazing choreography, lovely song! Thanks for the video :)

  • I love this movie!!!!!!!!!!

  • at 1:26 they remind me of the penguins in "Happy Feet". lol

  • OMG!!! IT TOTALLY DOES!

  • Simply amazing!!!!

  • Gene Kelly is a genius in dancing!!! If breakdance was invented in his days, man - he would be the MAN, y'all!!!!

  • the choreographer for this was genius!

  • Wasn't Kelly the choreographer for the whole film?

  • Along with Stanley Donen

  • @mobycat

Gene Kelly was more in charge of the dance numbers & sequences in SITR although Donen & Kelly's division of labour was always vague.

  • oh gosh!!! that's sooo much fun able to dance around lik tht haha

  • she went to John Burroughs in Burbank i go to that school now :)

  • ive seen this movie 10000 times and this part 20000 times but i just love watching it again and again!! gene kelly is such a hottie and ahh im for sure born in the wrong era!!!

  • me to they dresses so cute and how WONDERFUL voices did u know that she went to John Burroughs High School I go there now

  • A piece of cake for Gene and Donald. But heard it was hell for Debbie.

  • @hotwriter36 I think there are two reasons:

    1) She is dancing in heels while they are wearing flat shoes -_-'

    2) She was not a professional dancer :/

  • En ezt a filmet meg magyarul soha nem lattam, de nagyon szeretem. Mindig olyan jo kedvem lesz miutan megneztem:)

  • What a FANTASTIC ending!!!

  • I'm Hungarian also, and I'm obsessed about this movie!!! Seen it more than a 100 times. I've got several laser disc versions of it!

"Az eső rámcsorog, és én oly boldog vagyok"

  • i know it's so sad! they should! there soo homey and just plain good!

  • Fantastic! They sure don't make 'em like this anymore!

  • ah i love this scene

she has such a classic beauty to her

its a shame though it isnt really her singing

  • What are you talking about? Debbie Reynolds did her own singing in this song.

  • The inside joke was that this movie was about dubbing when for a couple of songs and dialogue, Debbie's voice WAS dubbed. It's not a crime.

  • Oh, I'm not saying she wasn't at some point...but the particular song... she was not dubbed over. At least, not in the sense that it's someone else. Of course she overdubbed the singing later...they all did.

  • @flashpenguin86 Sure, it's not a crime, but why the heck did they have her dubbed if she had a good singing voice of her own!? Was it in vogue at the time? In scenes with Jean Hagen I can understand - it could have been easier to record Jean's voice but in other cases? Just a waste....

  • Actually, for 2 or 3 of "Kathy"'s songs, it was actually Jean Hagen (Line Lamont's actress)'s REAL voice, since the Lina Lamont voice was not her normal talking voice
