  • im in the army and i beleve in peace, but if the time came to it i whould have there last image and i whould hide it away just for me to vue. but i whould not call killing fun but the frill of gettin shot at is. It is not brave to kill a man it is pitaful, is not hard its easy. And there always it a camera on the end of a gun ( is the eyes of the man who is doing the killing ) and i like the poem is hit home very hard. keep it up :) xxxx

  • @xDTx12So Thank you, Peter :)

  • Another very skillful and and very fine crafted poem. Congratulations.

  • wow, this is an awesome poem!

  • ha! I think the police are looking into that for their personnel lol. Excellent poem and presentation.

  • what an astute observation.

    Nicely written and performed.

  • my god Excellent How well done

  • Pretty words through a pretty voice.

  • Clever words, i loved it! haha

  • i would happily execute the bushfire arsonists - I don't care how intensely my image is imprinted on their God forsaken retinas

  • me 2

  • Hi!

    That was damn good!

    I think I will subscribe!

  • you're hot ms. poem lady

  • Very nice poem, Jenny!

  • I don't know how many ways I can compliment the incredible talent of this young lady.

  • Can I have your autograph?

  • I should have commented on this before. I think this is one of your best readings. The idea that the person seen in a rifle sight is a human being, and not just a faceless enemy, should give pause for thought.

    Life is good'

    Kind regards, Peter

  • Wow... that was wonderful ! Talent !

  • you are wonderful =)

  • I love your poems so much :)

  • More than TheRavenOfPoe, you are TheRavenOfPoetry - a rich, dark, exotic creature whose work lives in the memory.

    Blessings to you dear Jen.

  • Really cool!!

  • Spectaular. Inspectors used to actually examine the eyes of a murder victim hoping to find their last image, hopefully the image of their killer somehow burned or captured forever within the retina.

  • raven your words are poetry

  • That was quite cool...

  • Great poem Jenny!

Personally, I think that, if we were to install tiny cameras in guns, they should point in the opposite direction, at the shooter, rather than the target. It would make solving crime a whole lot easier.

Although that might then mean that CSI would get cancelled, so maybe we shouldn't do it.

  • Wow beautiful, Raven! Absolutely marvelous.

  • Lovely woman.

  • Very nice poem :) Its a good way to start my day

  • Thanks for the thoughts! -Dennis

  • good idea , a camera on every gun.

  • wunderschön! :)

  • That was amazing, Brilliant and just wicked. Love it. I wish I could present my poems like you do :-). You have a great knack for it that is for sure..

  • Brilliant, thought provoking. Good work!

  • Cool idea, well done. :-)

  • As always, your work is thought provoking. Thank you for the post.

  • please, come back

  • I'm not going anywhere =) The video title is only the title of the poem ^^

  • awesome work

  • wow raven i just came in my pants thank you lol anyway nice poem

  • Sadly I think that would have the opposite effect. It would be more like trophies and a way of keeping score.

  • I hadn't thought of that, but yes...in some cases I think it would become like that. But for those people perhaps they have reached a point where there is no deterrent for killing.

  • Good job.

  • A select piece from your creative insights, Jennifer, capturing a wonderful concept in short, elegant verse. How well done. Now, could we but insure that such a camera was only capable of rendering a self portrait; or, at the least, an image to reveal only within the victims eyes, for anyone who could truly see would then see the same thing.

  • Your comment set me thinking. Maybe a camera to capture the perpetrator and victim, with their images in that final second side by side forever.

  • You have spoken the heart of the combat photojournalist, yet for all of their revelations presented we still fail to learn as a species, do we not? Although many an image could be said to capture the soul, that realization will always be limited not by the sight of the observer, but by their insight.

And so how have you been, my fine friend? Ive been thinking of you as of late, but have yet to come by to say hello this week. It seems you have beaten me to that greeting.

  • I'm good. Life is a strange combination of adventure combined with sitting around waiting. It's staying interesting though. It sort of feels like a huge wave is coming and my present lull is only a temporary illusion. I think this year promises to be an exciting one!

  • Excellent!!!

  • woa. cool :)

  • :) Not sure what to say.

  • tres bon

  • Wonderful as always :)

  • simple yet elegant.. perfect poem Jen, you amaze me as always

  • Thank you very much, Rowan =)

  • watch out guys, Raven will turn the world around if you have not already

  • Nice.

  • Amazing poem Raven, absolutely loved it. <3 -Claire

  • Thank you Claire!!

  • Cheese? :)

  • hehe, that word is somewhat terrifying now!

  • wow, I like the elegant points in your acting and directing. the poem is really thoughtful and the last scene is effective.

my point of view: worst than soldier fighting in the war, is when companies and tvs try to do everything to make much more money by making news of the war. and for me, I'd rather to be killed by ordinary ppl than to touch the gun or to be a soldier.

  • You did it again! Fantastic Lady Raven! =D

  • Wow, awesome video

    Hans :o)

  • i was blown away by this! no punn intended, LOL!

    nicely written & performed!

  • All I can say is AWESOME!

  • That ended so strong! You really blew me away with this one, it came out really well, you killed it. =]

  • hehe, thank you!

  • Very subtle and profound.

Love the music at the end, I'm curious - what is it?

  • Thank you Janeczka! =) The music is the isolated harp segment of Danse Macabre - I forgot to mention that in the video description but I have edited it in there now ;)

  • Effectively simple.

  • Love it. Five Starry Stars and favorited!

  • This a fabulous poem! Your work that you share with us on Youtube never ceases to impress me. You are an amazing writer!

  • You scared me with the title!

  • aw hehe, I'm not going anywhere ^^

    =)

  • I though it was a goodbye-video.

puh... I'm so lucky I was wrong!

  • I hadn't thought of that when I titled the poem, hehe

Its funny how words take on new meanings when the context changes!
