  • So many lolita~ ;A;

  • I'm Japanese but in my opinion, western people don't need to try hard to look good in wearing lolita fashion 'coz that's where the lolita fashion came from, from the west! Japanese people just popularized the said fashion and believe me they need to try hard enough for them to look good! nose jobs and circle lenses, anyone? :3

  • I would love to dress in elegant gothic aristocrat, but:

    1: I'm male.

2: I live in an area where no one usually wears them.

    3: I'm fat.

  • I love the style but back when I was single it used to always frustrate me to see the ones in pants, because I thought they were boys >.<

  • Wow there's so many people who leave dumb comments, even though they are old...WTF

  • will there be another meeting in montreal ? D:

  • @tifa2lock there are several meetings every year but as I don't live in Canada anymore I'm not really aware of when the meetings are... there is a forum called QC-Harajuku where you can find more info.

  • @getoutofmyband Ah Okay :3 Thank you ^-^♥

  • Not being racist or anything, But I like American other cultures wearing lolita a tiny bit more then the japanese. Simply because it looks just as good. Japanese people look good in it too, but then they get the cocky Idea that only they can wear it :( im not saying all japanese are like that. But you know.

  • Awww, I wanna be in Montreal now~

  • @jovenpendulem sooo tragic omg.

seriously, do you live in Japan? I do. And lots of lolita here look the same as the girls in Montreal. But you know, the point isn't to be copycats. Also did you know japanese girls wish to look like Europeans? Do you even know that lolita fashion is inspired by the Rococo and Victorian era..?!

Come on, educate yourself before leaving childish comments.

  • @getoutofmyband Actually I am. And my BF is japanese. And the girls in the video look nothing like a gothic lolita except for thier eek costumes. there is no thought in thier makeup or hair or attitude. Not all japanese girls wish to look european, wat does that have to do with anything? Yes i know what it is inspired by, what does that have to do with them not looking anything like a real lolita depic. but then again this is canada. I digress. ehp.

  • @jovenpendulem Are you a lolita yourself?

I'm asking because the people I hang out with in Tokyo and my friends in Montreal are pretty much the same. Not all lolitas have perfect make-up and not all of them live the "lolita lifestyle". And I mentioned the European thing because many of my friends keep saying "I wish I had white skin and blue eyes like yours, you can look like a real Victorian princess!". I'm not saying ALL japanese wish that..

  • @jovenpendulem and I've heard a lot of comments before like "Lolita doesn't look right on non-asian" so that's the main reason why I mentioned the European thing in the first place coz I thought that's what you meant by your first comment.

  • @jovenpendulem You sound like such a fucking weeaboo. And a racist, just so you know.

  • @jovenpendulem Jealous much?

  • when i go to japan am goin' dress like that

  • Hey maki, which band is this?

  • @Xelico I wrote it in the video at 2:39 mins. It's House of Geisha you can find their music on wacca.fm

  • @getoutofmyband sweet! Thank you very much.

  • i wish victorian style was still alive here in america like back in the old days

  • something is always worth doing if ppl who drive by think to themselves "WTF" or yell something at you from their safe cars as they speed by. lol

  • Oh wow!! It's so kawaii to see so many cutely dressed people in one place!! <33

I wonder if the random people walking by thought it was a convention or something!! :3

  • when is the next event? I want to join in too!

  • @bittersweetzzful usually it's every June 13th. I live in Japan now though so I have no clue when the smaller events take place in Montreal. You should check the Qc-Harajuku forum.

  • Imma be a lolita soon, but its so sad how people don't exactly understand the concept of it, it's all cuz of Vladimar, that guy who wrote that book!

  • This is awesome *_*!

  • how do ppl find out about these events?

  • @fr1zz1y the egl community on livejournal or various forums dedicated to harajuku fashion lovers. For exemple, the Quebec community has a forum called "Qc-Harajuku" and Lolitas of Montreal have a livejournal community montreal_loli

  • @getoutofmyband wow,thats soo cool,thanks:-)

  • What a fantastic turn out! I would love to go to something like that. Too bad I live in Arkansas, the most uninteresting place on Earth... :(

  • Montreal, huh. I bet they are French!

  • @seemyjohn Actually most of the people who came were quebecers who speak both english and french and some speak japanese, chinese, etc.. the lolita community is very diversified. We also had people from Ontario who came.

  • Ya vraiment des meeting à montréal?!? OMG! I didn't know... :(

  • are this all americans?

  • @Takiko1782 Canadians! This was filmed in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. ^_^

  • i wish we had meet ups like this where i live.

  • i remember falling in love with this look when i stumbled into a shop in tokyo dedicated only to the lolita look. Gosh, does anything similar exist in montreal?

  • the only thing i don't like about lolita is that.... the dresses and the layers are pain in the ass to wear on a hot summer day~

  • The next Ste Dolores is in 9 days. I'm so looking forward to it!

  • i love going out with all my friends, so many stares! : ) how many of you were there?

  • @njkillo I can't remember the exact number but I think it was around 50 persons in grand total if I remember correctly from the reservation we had to visit a museum.

  • this is actually in Montreal... O.O.... I hope i get to go one day... but i'm so new at it... dont know where to start....

  • @mzjazzii305 yep it is! if you need help with starting to dress lolita check out daily_lolita and lolita_handbook on livejournal..com

  • QUOI!! nooon, dire que j'ai manque ca! Est-ce qu'il y en a un cette annee??

  • ooo j aimerai aller la bas sa sympa l d'air

  • waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw must have been a crazy day. ♥

  • @misspoba yes it was a memorable day! ^

  • oh my god... i i i i wanna buy lolita outfits...SO PRETTY O_O ahhh!!!! omggg DX

  • Woah, i counted like 10 Itas. not trying to sound like a bitch but alot of the people wearing lolita had no biz wearing it *gringes*

  • Everybody starts somewhere. Alot of the younger girls in Montreal have been into lolita for less than a year. Haven't we all failed at some point or another? The girls were very friendly and we had an awesome time, that's what counts.

  • @getoutofmyband you have a point, even though i would say my start was pretty good sometimes the greates lolitas have those first attempt photos.

  • @BELL5ROSE

Who are you to say who's allowed to wear what? I'm not into fashion or this sorta thing, but that comment really gave me a spike of anger.

Anyways, this video had pretty smooth music. Made me wave my head side to side. Like I was cruising a sunny road with an open top.

  • @LookSquirrel

It's part of being lolita morron, Perfection! Lolita fashion has a strict set of rules of what is lolita and what isn't, One rule of lolita is that if you are not prepared to spend the time, money and dedication to lolita then all your wearing is a costume and you cause insult to those who have spent years just researching lolita.

  • I've never been t a meet before since I live in the middle of no where pretty much, but you guys look like you had such a great time. I'll go someday ;_;

  • Aww, I didn't know there were so many lolitas in Montreal. I'd like to attend a meetup sometime, but I don't really know anyone in this city yet.

  • 0:17 she looks beautiful! (the girl with white hair), 0:35 I look the white outfit, 0:25 the girl in the blue with the bonnet, how pretty!

  • @Desi1204 the girl with the white hair has a Youtube channel it's mocofraise if you want to tell her personally! ^_^

  • @getoutofmyband oh really, I'm subscribed to her!!

  • @Desi1204 Awesome! ^_^

  • For informations to those interested in those EGL meet-up, go to qc-harajuku (dot) top-forum (dot) net. I'm pretty sure they'll do another one this summer!

Pour ceux et celles intéressé(e)s par ces meet-up EGL, allez sur qc-harajuku (dot) top-forum (dot) net. Vous aurez toutes les informations lorsque le temps sera venu!

  • You guys look great. Those are beautiful ourfits! You can see that you had a lot of fun(:

  • Neko I don't think their are Lolita shops in Montreal, most of lolis in montreal buy their clothes online or are handmade.

  • LOL most lolis... I hope you understand what lolis are...

  • We are talking about Lolita FASHION here. Check the sidebar for more info.

  • I wish I could find a lolita shop in Montreal. There were so many pretty outfits during this meet-up. x3

  • Is their an other one in Montreal this summer i would love to go !!

  • @MissPinkBonbon I guess so... I will be in Japan for a year so If they make plans, I probably won't be aware of them. You can check the montreal_loli community on livejournal it's a good source of info.

  • Go to the website I just wrote above, you'll find everything you need. That's the forum of the Montreal's harajuku community! ;)

  • I saw a couple of lolitas w/ boy friends! I hope I meet a guy who can handle it :S

  • yay, boy lolita!! that was a big turn out. I just have to live where there aren't really any other lolitas...

  • the last performer was pretty, too♫ HIMEKA, she's from Quebec, too, what on earth is going on Quebec? LOL!

oh yeah, you know 真輝chan, "寄り合い" seems to be a gathering of grandmas grandpas's image.

    取りも可愛かったなあ♫

    ヒメカもケベックだったけど、一体何が起きてるのケベックで?(笑)

    ああそう、あのね真輝ちゃん、『寄り合い』は、じいさんばあさんたちの集会のイメージだよ。

  • So many lolita and I'm not there to hug them all.. maybe im too tall o.O

  • I wish there were Lolitas were i live I'm the only one and people my age don't understand and there rod to me.But it dos not mater I'm A LOLITA FOR LIFE YAAAAAAY XD

  • hey guys. i made a facebook group for Candian lolitas/people who adore all sorts of J-style and its basically a good way for us all to feel a little less seperated and a little more connected. :)

  • yeah how was the day though .... ive always felt Canada was too judgemental for this kinda thingy.....i think u look great, it has always been a fantasy of mine to do the whole Lestat thingy....

  • Thank you! It was alot of fun and we didn't get too many weird comments. Most people are nice and tell us we look cute and they ask us to take pictures. Alot of the time people think we are costumed and taking part in a special event or play but we always take the time to explain to people what it is (we sometimes give them a little card with the same info i've written in the side bar.) :)

  • oh my good *____* so MANY lolitas and so beautiful <3

  • This video is so cute. It's so fun to see lolis in motion instead of just photos.

  • what's the name of the song?

  • The House of geisha - Sweet Hooligan

you can find it at wacca . fm / a / geisha

  • they're all so cute! So many frills!

  • Thank you! ^.^

  • oooo I was going to join this but, I had no lolita dresses x.x; buuuu

  • みんな可愛い!楽しそう!

  • wow...looks more like Osaka on a Saturday afternoon....not Montreal!

  • Where did you get that creative commons thing at the end?

  • I made it myself but apparently you can find them on the creative commons website. wiki.creativecommons org / CC_video_bumpers

  • Thanks. You guys are adorable btw.

  • No problem! ^_^ thank you! <3

  • Do you now if it have one ache year????

  • Yes. We actually have more than one gathering per year. But I guess the summer gathering is always the biggest coz more people are able to come during vacations. We actually are having a gathering tomorrow in Quebec city at Frontenac castle..we're going for tea and cakes! I'll try to take some pics and videos and post them later on!

  • So loveeeeely*o*!

  • thank you!

  • tros mignonne :)

i'd love to meet the montreal lolitas one day. we seem to be so close yet so far :)

  • Thanks! ^_^

    Where are you from?

  • I live in northern ontario

  • hahahhaha.

  • Nice video, although I'm not a fan of lolita fashion (I know, FORGIVE ME? ;()

What really bugs me are the people with the poofy bottom parts of their dresses, that makes it look like they're skinny up top and FAT on the bottom.

I dunno, it's just not cute to me. It's not even really popular in Japan is it? Like, one of those misconceptions similar to "everyone in Japan likes Visual Kei and Gackt and X Japan and anime" and the like? Only a small fraction of the population of Japan are into it.

  • Then again, I've never lived in Tokyo.

In Kyushu, I've seen maybe 5 Lolita in my entire 4 years here, and two of them were just staff at the Kumamoto BSSB store.

Anyway, aside from that, I love the song, and the high contrast. Bright colors! HAPPY!

    Make more videos!

  • There's a BTSSB store in Kumamoto? I'll write that on my itinerary ;) hahahaha.. jk

Glad you enjoyed the video even though you aren't a big fan of lolita. (I'll brainwash you and make you like it..mwahhahaha.. >;P)

  • Haha one of my friends said the same thing about the dresses making us look fat. :P I sometimes wear some skirts and one pieces without petticoats and it looks nice too. Maybe you'd like the more classical or aristocrat styles since they have longer skirts or don't necessarly use petticoats.

Well it is quite popular in Tokyo but at the same time it's not the latest trendy style that everyone wants to dress in and not everybody know it's a fashion style. Even japanese think it's cosplay.

  • French speakers imitating Japanese people imitating French speakers... 頭が狂っちゃいそう・・・(笑)

  • I know, isn't it ridiculous?! XD

But I'm not dressing that way to imitate japanese people. I dress that way coz I like the style, i can truely express myself through these clothes. It makes me feel like a princess. When I was young I was such a tomboy. I refused to wear dresses and play with dolls...isn't funny? Discovering feminity at 25 years old.. LOL

  • Kind of off topic, but this video makes me want poutine. Oh how I miss it.

  • RisuMiso,

Might want to try a Wendy's in Japan. I think they have poutine. Not sure though. It's been a while.

  • Really? I'll check it out. I don't even remember them having it in Canada though.

  • Mmmm poutine. :p I think there's a canadian bar near Ebisu station that serves poutine. But if you want I can send you some poutine sauce! Though the cheese curds might be hard to find in Japan but you could still try with regular cheese cut in cubes.. :P msg me if u want.

  • I'll have to look. This is the second time I've heard of a Canadian bar. Maybe I can watch a few ends of curling there! haha.

My sister sent me some poutine gravy mix in the mail. I made it, and it was a good enough reminder. My mom is mailing me a bottle of ranch dip. The weird things you miss when abroad.

Thank you very much for your offer to send me some, but I could never ask that! Plus my father comes here often on business, so he can import stuff for me.

  • great video!

  • Thanks Frandy! (●^▽^●)ノ

  • :] Awesome.

    What's this song? :o I like it a lot.

Ah! I see, you put it at the end for like a split second. XD

  • The House of Geisha - Sweet Hooligan

you can download it on wacca . fm

  • it was about time you put it online!!

very nice people that are very nicely dressed!!

    ^^

  • Je l'avais mis online il y a longtemps sur facebook pourtant. Je l'ai juste un peu édité là pour YT.
