  • Love that music makes me want to go camp out and grill

  • I tried this method after only using the grill once before, i was nervous with the idea of cooking for two hours. It came out perfect. Even my wife liked it, and she is not a big fan of grilled steaks and stuff. You guys make it so easy to follow and do a hell of a job, thanks a bunch. I plan on testing my luck with a Brisket this weekend, wish me luck.

  • is it sad the food LOOKS like it smells GOOD? now i always believe the red stuff that comes out is blood from uncooked meat but i learned that's not the case. i always like my meat well done but since i recently purchased 2 tri tip steaks and want the best flavor and juice, while preventing foodborne illnesses, would medium/medium well still boast great flavor/juices?

  • Shouldn't watch yall's vids when I'm hungry as hell! Cheers BBQ pitboys and Merry Christmas from Austin, TX.

  • OMG, just cooked this meal, best steak i have ever had in my life!!!

  • Guy's, what's the name of the song playing in the background? (at around 6 minutes in). It's a real mellow one.

  • Should have stopped at 135.

  • I used this recipe today and it was probably the best thing I ever grilled! Amazing. Great job guys!

  • Are you guys from Texas?

  • Very Impressing Bob! you guys really got some kind of "born" in BBQ magic.

I bet since your first generation in the stoneage, they allready was bbq'ing on flames and searing on hot stones!!

  • i gotta hand it to ya yall sure can cook....but RED STRIPE??? ARE YOUSERIOUS...ok sorry

  • Thanks, That makes sense. Keep up the goooooood! work!

  • Hello, I enjoy all your videos and learn many valuable things. May I ask why you sear the meat at the end of the cook as opposed to the begging. I sear my tritip at the beginning of the cook and it seems to work well, but maybe I am not optimizing my efforts. thank you

  • @steadibaby ....we used the "reverse sear" technique due to the sweet rub we applied to one of the tri-tips before throwing them on the grill. Searing first when using a sugar rub can be done, but it will burn quickly if not careful, so it is not recommended. -BBQ Pit Boys

  • @BarbecueWeb whats the second song on this video? starts at around 0:14

  • @BarbecueWeb what kind of knife is that.

  • @mikarabidkitsune Hahaha, go away you fucking beggar. Go sell yourself for money or something, or go play with your... what does poor people have? Don't know, sticks and some shit like that.

  • @Ugurcan2452 NO U.

  • @mikarabidkitsune Your shit on dA sucks cock. Go away, weeaboo.

  • @Ugurcan2452 LOL TROLL~ XD

  • @mikarabidkitsune "LOL U DON'T LIKE MY SHIT SO URE INSTANTLY A TROLL Xddd ^-^ fack you"

    nice one

    not

  • @Ugurcan2452 No it's because you came out of no where starting stuff mah friend. Now go pittle around with your mirco sized dick else where.

  • @mikarabidkitsune learn to spell

  • If anyone depends on alton brown to cook, you should turn in your BBQ pit.

  • Man! Its these guys and Foodwishess is the reason I learn how to cook. You made a boy like me become a man in the kitchen...

  • Hot damn im hungry, do you sell a rub? if not, what kind do you use?

  • You guys may be the next coming of christ! PS nice choice on the beer mon!

  • Beer and meat. . . . do men need ANYTHING else??????

    i don't think so!!!

  • What do you suggest for people using propane Grills?

  • @mikarabidkitsune buy a charcoal grill!

  • @hawki52 That's a rather rude answer, not everyone is made of money. I just have a propane grill because the other folks that owned this place left it behind!

  • @mikarabidkitsune LOL foolish peasant

  • @LesnarNextBigThingF5 No need to be such a dick. I was just asking a question.

  • @mikarabidkitsune If you can't afford a charcoal grill then idk what you're even doing with a propane grill, you must be poor as fuck.

  • @mikarabidkitsune You can grill a tasty piece of meat on a propane grill, as well. If you are doing the reverse sear, like the guy on the vid, place the meat on the opposite side that the flame is on. you could also get some wood chips, soak them in water, place them in aluminum foil, poke holes in the foil, then stick them on the hot side of the grill. You might not get quite the flavor that you would from charcoal, but you will get a tasty piece of meat.

  • @ross939 Oh wow! Thank you so much!

  • 11:03 I want that knife, I need to know what it's called and where I can get one.

  • why the hell am i watching this, should be the missus, god knows she needs all the help she can get..

  • Who wants to go down to the 'House of Sausage'?

  • you guys are awesome. eat good and drink different beer all the time. bravo

  • Where did you get that KNIFE!

I wanna get me one of doze.

PS...Try alum nails (crosswise) they cut cooking time and maintain moisture as the butter caramelize from the plugs.

    C Ya

  • PotatoBombs are a great idea. Did you get yelled at from the health police or why do you suddenly use that much papertowel?

  • Hmmmmm Red Stripe is gooooooood drinking.

    I really like that beer.

  • a reverse sear too!

  • Hey Bob, is that Sudoku knife?

It's puzzling to me as to what it actually is...

  • deffinitly makin cheesy potato bombs :P

  • RED STRIPE!!

  • Amazing. I'll have to try that.

  • Now that looks just Awesome!!!!

  • How come your coals never burn out before the food is done? Do you change them or what

  • @Turpale -]. Good question I wanna no! .[-

  • @Turpale if the lid is always kept on then theres less air to get at the coals and they burn alot slower

  • @timHYPERLITE Yeah guess so. I was just wondering because sometimes they grill stuff for like 6 hours

  • Where the F* are the Potatos???? Man I am hungry or what ? ;)

  • Where do you guys live? Tennessee? I might come by to do some grilling and I'll pay for the meat!

  • Been a while since you guys smoked anything.. and i love this one! :)

    Thanks for another gr8 vid!

  • I love your videos. So relaxing to watch and it always looks incredible good!

  • @Illogic69 That's one of things I like too. It's "relaxing" to watch.

  • Question, how come you seared the steak at the end? I thought it is supposed to be done at first to seal in the juices. Love your vids btw

  • @devadasn I think that because of the way this meat was basically "smoked" low-n-slow etc..., It didn't lose much juice so giving it a fresh sear at the end probably justifies them going against their usual recommendations.

  • @devadasn I would think searing first when you are cooking direct and higher heat. With slow and low you do not have to sear first as the the juices stay in the meat. Searing at the end at a higher heat then seals in the juices when you let it sit and rest to redistribute within the meat. My thoughts.

  • @devadasn Searing actually DOES NOT seal in juices. Look at Alton Brown's video on that. HOWEVER, searing creates another texture and promotes the malliard reaction (browning) that we love. So it's always beneficial to sear your meats!

The tri tips look a bit dry to be honest. Great video, but I would recommend higher temperatures and less cooking time... I think I usually cook my tri tips for around 30-45 minutes (depending on size) at around 400 degrees... comes out pink, EVERY time!

  • @joker5266 ...lol..to be honest professor Joker, ya need to wipe your eyes and watch this vid at 11:50 -the juices are pouring out of that Tri...! That ain't a dry piece of sirloin in my book, dude. This lower temp cooking and then searing before serving method is good technique for sirloin roasts such as this Tri. You stick with your Alton Brown and Fake Food TV and move on out of here. Your Food Police rant is boring...! lmfao

  • @joker5266 ...alton brown? you're kidding. he's on that girly food comedy channel, right?

  • @devadasn they started with a Rub on a Tri so searing first is not a good idea because of the sugars and paprika etc could burn. This reverse sear method works good with this cut when using a thick cut of sirloin and rub.

  • 1 person got to hungry to hit the right button.

  • I love rednecks :)

  • watch this in 1080p is a must!

  • man you folks make me hungry no matter the time, situation or even on full stomach.

thanks for the vids guys, enjoying them a lot!

  • Potato bombs is all that stuck out on this video, steaks looked good but nothing really different from what they usually do

  • The potato bomb idea is boss! Pay attention Chow Tips!

  • Potato bombs look killer!

  • I tired the Pit-Boys Nacho dish yesterday - awesome.

Gonna try this one on Saturday!

    Thanks boys!

  • No mmmmmmhhmm?

  • Q; Is the tri-tip steak the same cut as some folks call a "butt cap"?

  • I've been watching you guys for a long time, so obviously I'm no veggiematic, but DAMN those potato bombs are something else!

  • these guys should have their own t.v. show. food network?

  • This guy is my heroe!

  • your vids are ... i would say the best on you tube only if you guys had a restaurant in london

  • you sure know how to make us red meat lovers get hungry

  • still waiting that smellovision

  • @samysnes ...lol... and "we do apologize" for not eating one of those bombs in front of you..! Don't fret. Our next vid is all about making our Potato Bombs and how we stuff them with most anything we can find in the fridge. • Ohhh yeah! Beautiful steaks. Cool spuds...haven't seen them done like that before . Also gotta love the Red Stripes. And while I'm at it I may as well compliment you guys on the nice tidy woodpile in the back! Nice work boys!

  • how do the coals stay good for so long?

  • Looks good - quick question though. Is there any reason that you seared the tri-tips at the very end of the cooking time instead of searing first then cooking indirectly?

  • Ahhh....How I wish to be back in Santa Maria.

  • With Memorial day coming up soon, if You Tube doesn't feature this video on their home page, something's wrong…

Prediction; "Potato Bombs" will be the next big craze! (just like the bacon bomb, a few years ago.)

  • Here in Brazil Tri-tip are the typical cut for bbq.

  • ####

beef looks great, as always by the mirical of time!

  • @SOLIDSNAKEXXX360 WTF! hahahaha!

  • LOL

    I LOVE THESE THUMBS UP

  • PS: My wife made some of your barbecue rub and some mopping sauce. Fuck me! Unbelievable is probably more accurate than a simple 'delicious'. Unbelievably delicious. Many thanks.

  • I'm a reasonable man. I can accept that a 'download a mouthful now' button is not technically possible at present but you could Fed Ex samples on demand. I give a thumbs up to every video. My tongue drops to the floor every time i watch a video. What do I have to do for a taste of that life enhancing, mind and stomach expanding deliciousness?

    SEND ME SOME FFS!

  • tritips for the win !!!

  • that looks......GOOD!

  • Drooling over the keyboard....Looks so good.

  • Ahhhh shit... wanted to see some tater bombs.

  • any tips on grilling sweet corn? possibly future videos?

  • why dont you peel those potatoes?i m from europe and i never even seen anyone eating potatoes that arent peeled

  • @tukarak They skin keeps the flavor. :)

  • @tukarak the*

  • @tukarak Im from europe and yeah, we mostly skin those potatoes, but the skin is very healthy actually,

  • @tukarak I never knew that about europe. Here in the states, most bars and pubs sell just the potato skins stuffed with bacon and cheese.

  • @manuecat really i find that hard to believe.diffrent cultures i guess

  • @tukarak Try it! I am from Germany, and especially roasted and baked potatoes are great wit the peel!

  • @Saalicious du hast es erfasst ;)

  • @tukarak

It's like grillin chicken on the grill with the skin on it, or pork. It's just good flavor and texture of the skins on potatos. And I mean REALLY good.

  • so, how'd the bombs turn out?

Wanted to see the end result on those.

  • I bet those tri tips would cost a lot here in the UK...I miss bein back home when I watch these guys
