Oh i don't have a wooden ruler :( I only have plastic ones, and I know not to use them. Haha i'd melt my ruler otherwise :) lol

last time i tried it didn't. not sure how long you need to keep the straightner on ur hair but i only need couple seconds on it. the straightner goes around ur hair but obviously dont use some plastic ruler..
