It is total BS to call javelinas "dangerous." I have lived in west Texas all of my life and have never found them to be dangerous at all, unless they are cornered and have a young one.
They have poor eyesight and excellent sense of smell, so many times when people think that are being "attacked" it is actually because the critter is trying to run away and doesn't see you.
@Pecos45 well, I live in AZ and I almost had to shoot one in self defense, the herd rushed me after I shot one, so they can be dangerous, they have killed people in AZ
good shot the second time spined him the first. hey well what camo do you think i shoud get for this october season. like what kind, AP HD or APG HD. some examples.
Realtree AP seems to be a great all-around camo pattern. I have the 3-D leafy RT AP suit. Works wonders in all colored areas (except snow). I intend on taking some pictures of me and my rifle to show how effective it is for visual camouflage.
Because they have 2 inch tusk and grow to up to 60 pounds, not exactly what I consider pint sized. There have been 17 reported attacks since 2001, but nothing fatel or life threatening. Dangerous game consist of any species that shows aggression towards humans or other species.
Can you give me the contact info for where you go hunting? Me and a couple friends want to go after javelina while the weather is still relatively nice.
There is a bow season. But everywhere I know of you can use a bow during rifle season. There arent any seasons for Javelinas though. You can shoot them year round.

I hope when you walked around your vehicle that it was from tracking the animal and not from driving up to the animal, getting out and shooting it.

He walked out while we were parked and about to leave the blind. And somehow walked right in front of us. It was lucky, for us not him.
