@BMW - No matter how well meaning someone might be, they don't always know how to help creatures like these and end up doing more harm than good. Hummingbirds are protected in the US and therefore Not Okay to keep as a pet. There are many capable animal rescue people that are knowledgeable and equipped to caring for a bird of this sort when they're hurt or sick. In addition to nectar hummingbirds also need bugs for protein in order to survive.
I never understand people who jump on the HATE bandwagon when someone posts a video trying to help wildlife. Get a life people! They saved a bird and cared for it. Isn't that the most important!
i know..i applaud what you did, and would have done the same thing...but if a cop really wanted to be a asshole, they could see it in your house and charge you with it.
i have never heard of anyone being jacked up for violations of it, but i am sure it is only a matter of time.
im sure you are ok. i doubt they are going to bother a single person doing what you did...out to get people who have 20 or 30 of them and are selling them
i had a hummingbird fly into my backyard, and there were flowers near the shed. as it was "eating" i went outside to get a closer look but it flew away =( i could hear how fast the wings were and how loud it was. it was so cool. wish it didnt fly away T_T

Bad place to pet any bird. honestly thats a very sexual spot for them. Keep it above the shoulders.
