Someone seriously needs to start on a documentary about the "alternative" Christian rock scene of the '90s. I was there and it was great here in So Cal. Going to see bands on the weekend during my junior and senior year of high school. Prayer Chain was my first in Jan. of 1994 at Azuza Pacific University.
Thank you so much for posting this. I was too young when PC was around to be able to see them live, but I'm a fan of their music to this day, and will be for life. It's so great to be able to get a glimpse of what was...
I was at this concert. You can't see it in the vid but when the song kicked in a big pit started, I think I got some bruised ribs, maybe a bloody nose. I boot legged this on a really crappy micro tape and still have the audio so thanks for posting!!!
Thank you for posting this. I was at this concert. I loved everything about my experiences at those cornerstones. God Bless... I really miss the Prayer Chain.
Nothing like 90's festivals. Remember when the pits were civil and only like three or four people would get hurt ever show? We'd fall over and people would pick you up...and there was always that one guy that weighed like 400lbs and always took off his shirt...remember him?
Oh yeah... that's right, I was. Joann was courting Tim for us. That was the convention that they made us play through some crappy back-stage amps that I had no idea how to make sound good. Ugh.
Oh yea, Prayer Chain one of the moste awsome Christion Rock bands ever, but to short lived loved thees guys; wish they were still jaming. I did see there last show which included Starflyer 59, Poor Old Lou it was a 5minuit walk concert. Good times man good times man oh I remember when.
Yep, me and you bud listening to "Shawl." Yes, yes, Starflyer 59, Prayer Chain, Plank Eye, Mortal, Poor Old Lu, A Sight Unseen, Dakota Motor Co., Focused, etc., etc. WE had some great times back then!
Yep, we sure did live in the greatest era of Christian rock. It was our scene, but we were always out there trying to pull our friends in, get 'em to dig the music, and tell 'em about Christ. Me and my bud Tracyjacks used to always go to shows back in '94 and '95. I remember one of The Blamed that was quite memorable!
Wow! Man weren't those great times???? I remember I went to the merch table and picked up the flyer for my first Plank Eye concert a month later. I had so much fun back then! I still have the program for that Prayer Chain concert AND the long-sleeved black T-shirt I bought! I was 17 then....NOW I'M 30! Who else did you see back then?
January 1994, Azuza Pacific University baby! My first major Christian rock concert. Sara Laughing opened for them. I remember a guy got knocked out in the mosh pit and Prayer Chain stopped playing to pray for the guy.
Andy had the worst hair ever in this.. I was there..and I remember thinking that then... as well as now..lol

My old band used to cover this song and had the honor of playing it with Tim in the audience. Wow, I miss this band!
As for poor old lu, check out "Fair" (Aaron & Nick) "This Diminishing West" (Scott Hunter) and "Dead Poetic" (Jesse)
later...
