I remember Alexandra Shevchenko making a very similar mistake on her second tumble and the reaction from the American commentators was suprisingly different.

@tomsk14 it was different because Russia had many talented gymnast that could have been put up instead of Shevchenko. Shevchenko wasn't up to the Russian Standard. Plus these are different commentators. Lots of different factors to consider. It was a different code, different time and place, some many different things.

ashley was struggling with a back injury and wanted to rest for her freshman season (2009) at the university of alabama, so she did not compete at nationals or trials in 2008.
