  • Hi mplovejoy, You said a mouthful when you said that acquaintances are countless, but OLD FRIENDS ARE RARE TREASURES! !

I served in the military and I believe can appreciate the sentiments expressed, and who better to express them than Roger Miller

Seems all three remained friends, and all three are now in The Country Music Hall of Fame.

I miss Roger. He made me smile with his funny songs, and sigh with his songs of utter loneliness.

  • Old Friends nothing said any better Counrty music has never had a better friend the Willie Roger and Ray

  • Nice touch by having Ray Price singing right in the middle. He always sounds great with Willie and nicely compliments Roger. Sounds great. Thanks for posting.

  • Haven't heard this one in awhile. Thanks, Mike.. for the sentiment, and the send. And thanks, Thespadecaller for posting.

  • please bring back the video live willie and roger old friends thanks please

  • The comments about our old family friends makes me think of a verse I think is so good:

"Thine own friend, and thy father's friend, forsake not;"Pr 27:10

  • Really makes me feel good listening to this song & thinking of my old friends who are still living

  • mysteriousyoungman..i really and truly hope that you do have old friends someday, they are the greatest. i have some very old and dear friends that i dont get to see very often..this song makes me miss them a lot.

  • Harleyspoon, I just want to say God bless your father. He sounds like a hero that should always be remembered. My pawpaw was also a WWII vet who knew the value of a friend. I can't say that I have any friends that I can call "old friend", but I pray that I shall in the future. God bless old friends.

  • This was a featured song at my Dad's funeral in 1989...He knew these guys..Willie and Ray performed at his convention center in Waco often. He took good care of these old friends when they came ot Waco. Roger was only there once. My Dad was a WW2, Korean and Vietnam war vet. He knew what friends meant...He cherished his friends. That is why that song was so important at his funeral..the floors were wet with tears when the song ended and we finally said goodbye to Red Spoon...one of a kind.

  • love the art work, visuals and song.
