The elections are rigged. With that being said, of course I'll "throw my vote away" on some one I actually believe in instead of compromising my values to suit a corrupt system. If it wasn't such a travesty I'd laugh at people defending this pathetic two-party system.
Nader is so fucking full of himself. He couldn't even see the importance of getting rid of Bush in 2004 no matter what. Instead of saying to himself: "Kerry needs as many votes as possible because Bush is just too fucking dangerous to be left as Pres" he didn't give a shit and just ran anyways. Thankfully Nader wasn't a factor again but the fact that he ran shows how selfish he is.
Fuck Kerry/Edwards. Gore/Lieberman is a lame ticket too, fuck them. The fact that Nader ran again shows how persistent he is. I wish more democrats had that quality. Also, it's not very democratic of you to say 200 million + votes belong to one of two parties. Fear is the mind killer.
The vast majority of americans have easy, stress-free do-nothing lives. They ONLY way they will vote for a good candidate like Ralph Nader or Cynthia McKinney - neither of whom I think is perfect, yet are still heroes - is if they are FORCED to, by law. The vast majority of americans feel no pain when killed, tortured, raped. They enjoy it. They deliberately keep giving 90% wealth to the least deserving 5%. So, it is BULLSHIT that the economy is bad: it is bad ONLY for the few: Nader, Greens
First off, when you say "too bad everyone prefers a black guy" you sound incredibly racist. I'm not saying you are, but when you reduce the man most people voted for a simple "black guy" you sound racist. Second, yeah Nader has many, many good ideas but in the end Nader cares more about running for president, and making points, than he actually cares about making positive changes. He knows he's never going to win. He just runs to get attention.
Somehow I had a feeling someone would tell me that, but I'm not racist at all, I just knew from the start that he was going to be president no matter what. I voted for Nader because I liked his ideas, and I was sick of Republicans and Democrats
Nader speaks for the antiwar element that doesn't want the antiwar issue to be enveloped by the Obama movement (which isn't an antiwar movement; watch as Afghanistan explodes in a few months); against corporate power; Israeli aggression; nuclear power, war on terror, & more--all issues Democrats won't touch.
By running Nader brings these issues to the natl debate where they belong, & this builds small political movements. Don't fault him for that.
WTF do you think an election IS? ALL politicians run just to get attention. That's how they win! Only subhuman excrement that deserves to be tortured treats non-Demopubs with less respect than Demopubs. NOBODY can name ONE issue on which Nader's words and actions are contradictory. Only a subhuman piece of filth would say Nader has many good ideas, not claim Nader's actions contradict his words, and then NOT vote for Nader.
You know one difference between Nader, McCain and Obama? McCain and Obama actually believed they were going to win. Nader knew he wasn't going to win. Politicians don't run to get attention, they run to win. Nader runs every four years knowing he doesn't have a fucking chance in hell. Instead of wasting time and money running for pres he should actually try and make some real changes. It doesn't do any good to talk about change if you're never going to be in a position to effect it.
How did that vote for Nader work out anyways? Did he win? Keep voting for someone who can't possibly win and you'll never see anything get done. Fucking idiot.
No but I bet you were the guy who would have said "oh Hitler and this other guy are the same. So Instead of voting for the other guy I'll vote for the douchebag who has no chance so Hitler will win."
I guess I just wasn't as afraid of Bush as you were. Once you recognize that the system is flawed, you'll stop pushing the blame on a guy like Nader and maybe swing that judgmental pendulum towards the people who could actually fix the system. Think about it... Gore/Lieberman? What are the democrats thinking? They should get rid of the electoral college, maybe add run off voting or something similar, and stop crying because they keep losing every other election cycle with mediocre candidates.
If you didn't recognize how dangerous Bush was after his first term you truly are an idiot. I'm guessing you voted for Nader in 2004. And the fact that Nader couldn't see the difference between Bush and Kerry proves that he's a selfish asshole who's more interested in his own ambitions than he is doing what's best for the country.
Hell yes I voted for Nader in 04 and 08, and I'll vote for a third party in 12. I wish I voted for him in 00 instead of not voting cause I was so disappointed in your flawed two party politics. Just like a democrat to call people idiots if they disagree with you. You don't sound any better than some republicans I've talked to. Just so ya know Gore/Lieberman would have invaded the Middle East too. Clinton bombed Iraq throughout the 90's. They work for the same assholes and it aint we the people.
I don't call people idiots for disagreeing with me. Just people who can't see what a waste a third party vote is. Oh and yes of course you didn't vote in 2000. I bet you still bitched about everything too. One of those lazy losers who just writes off their responsibilities with some lame excuse.
So where's your proof Gore would have invaded Iraq? There is none because he wasn't going to. And bombing isn't the same as invading. Bombing didn't get 4000+ Americans killed and billions wasted.
Proof = Clinton/Gore killed Iraqis & Gore is a push over who gave the election to Bush (he shoulda pulled a Norm Coleman and dragged it out to the bitter end) oh and then there's fucking LIEBERMAN... 'nuff said. The obvious aside, you've made up your mind that all the world's problems are all Nader's fault. But that sounds like sore loser talk to me. P.S. A waste isn't voting for "third" party, it's a waste having a so-called democracy then being told your an idiot for expressing your freedom.
Once again, bombing isn't invading and it's not proof of what Gore would have done. So he's a pushover who would have ordered an invasion of another country? You don't get to the top of American politics by being a pushover. That's proof of how little you actually understand of politics. I don't blame Nader for all the world's problems. I blame him for not being able to distinguish between a lesser of two evils and failing to see how truly dangerous Bush was.............
Except you don't understand yet, that the "choice" you have in government... are both EVIL... and you just choose the lesser of the two... On the left, you have hitler... on the right, you have hitler... with a different skin color...
Get what I'm saying at all? Or should I explain it so that a 2 year old can understand?
Good job calling Obama Hitler. You just proved that you can't think for yourself and just mindlessly call people Hitler because your own political views are so unsophisticated. Apparently you don't even know what Hitler did. He invaded most of Europe and killed millions of people, including the murder of 6 million Jews. When Obama does that then you can call him Hitler. Dumb fuck.
Well then, how did hitler make the people love him the way democrats love obama? Can't think for myself? what do you mean? You're under the illusion of choice but in reality you have none... Obama hasn't changed any of bush's policies... but w/e you'll see soon enough and will be one of those people crying... being forced to do things... because of complacency and ignorance...
I her were serious he would focus his efforts on building a long term third party that could actually gain real political party. Instead he just runs every four years, makes himself look even mor rediculous each time, all the while pissing away money and time that could be better spent building a real political base. But hey keep voting for Nader if you don't mind just jerking off every election.
Maybe you're right, maybe you're wrong. He runs every chance he gets, but he's trying to get it across the people that there's more than 2 political parties, and that's what I like about him.
I kinda like Obama and he had better watch out for the zionist Biden who could be a repeat of how the Israeli jews had JFK killed because he wouldn't allow Israel to have nuclear weapons which was the same policy as Eisenhower. Once that paid stooge of the jews LBJ was put into the presidency the jews then got their nuclear weapons along with every single thing they wanted. I'm not saying LBJ was part of the JFK killing but he likely knew it was in the works because the jews had to find a way.
Obama is a zionist as well. Plus the elite of this country don't want to kill him yet, atleast. They have much more use for him alive. The people love him & blindly trust him so they will follow him in whatever he says. They are so brainwashed that he could be worse than Bush & they won't realize it. Operation Obama is a mass mind control program with the objective of getting people to trust government again, it has nothing to do w/ changing things for the better. Just look at Obama's cabinet.
Look at the video's date... WAY before Obama went into office.
Nader criticized Obama based on his declared positions, not only on what he actually did. ..And many of Obama's declared positions are shitty, watered-down ploys and outright injustices.
2: the us gov. paid back the "loan" with ford knox Gold that run out years ago now US owes billion interest on money that was illegally taken from US citizens n really belonged to the us Not international money men the creation of Federal Reserve was the start of the greatest robbery on earth commited against THE US CITIZENS, a coutry that claims to be the richest on earth with 55M american with nO medical cove almost 30 million living bellow the poverty line the super rich keep robiing
No. Jessie Jackson actually has accomplished things in the last three decades. All Nader has done is give dope smokers and slackers a polished trough they can all suck from.
Nader has made a fortune suing corporations and writing books about them. Year 2000 financial disclosure records showed his net worth at about $4 million with $1 million invested in stock in tech giant Cisco Systems. He says he uses his money to fund his campaigns and donates 50% of his AGI to charities. But that still means he'd be pocketing roughly $1-$2 million. The truth is, Nader is rich, yet hes still held up as the enemy of evil corporations. I dont get it.
To acanawuppazz - He did the right thing by suing blood-sucking corporations. You are assuming that all people with money are or should be 'pro' corporations or that they become (stay) rich by sucking up to them. Serves them right, (the corporations that is). What goes round comes round.
If he made a fortune n he might have what fortunes have the greedy bankers do against all us people? when you have a system that allows a private Bank to print the money of a country WITHOUT GOV. CONTROL WITHOUT RESERVES for that currency n they have total control of the money supply THEY ARE THE REAL ROBBERS OF THE NATION did u know that americans pay taxes to the private bank? illegal under the us constitution the bank takes the tax u payed illegally then loans it to you gov. to run the coutry
I went to see my favorite bar tender Vincent. I said to him:" I have an indecent proposal! He asked what, avoiding eye contact! I said how much to buy your vote? He said for Ralph Nader? I said yes! We joked and laughed I offered him my rusty retro bike dusting in the basement!
When I was ready to leave he shouted: you have my vote.
I know it was not the pathetic bribe I was giving him; he was convinced with my conviction!
Thanks man! I now realize that Debs had nothing on your insight:
"It is better to vote for what you don't want and win than vote for what you want and lose."
Kay G. Odog
And seeing as how I live in Arkansas, which is decisively for McCain (my brother volunteers for the Obama campaign and said that they travel to Missouri to campaign because Arkansas is a lost cause), I guess I should vote for McCain since Obama has no chance of winning Arkansas, right?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
nope. vote for who you want. but if you're voting for nader, vote for obama since the only two we have to decide on are obama and mccain. obama would be more in line with nader supporters. it's not rocket science sergio.
you want nader in there? well, he has to learn how to play the game. i want him in there too but doesn't know how to play the stupid game. it is stupid but mccain and obama know how to play it. once he knows how to play the game, then he has the chance to change what's going on. understand? ignore corporate news? hmmm, i wish the masses could but be realistic.
It's a shame that Nader didn't become a professor instead of a presidential candidate. If he had, George W Bush never would have become president, and our country would have been spared a lot of grief.
Nader supporters, we respect your disdain of the two-party system (and it's a disdain that I share), and Nader's a smart guy, but this election is just too important to make a protest vote. Please consider voting for Obama or McCain in 2008. Support 3rd parties on the state and local level.
protest vote? is that what a vote outside of the two-party is considered? please, we're not looking for sympathy votes. this time we vote out the entrenched two-party or we vote in third-world. think.
hey hedgecocker, i wasn't refering to sports dumbass. and by the way you just replyed to my comment , so you totally contradicted yourself. get back to me when nader is in charge!!!!!!!
I bet someone noticed how the figure of troops to keep in harms way somehow (mysteriously-magically, BS) went from
somewhere around the 100,000 figure to
the latest version (BS) or 65,000!
Now look here, I've got some Extremely Rare Uncirculated 7 Dollar Bills for sale (Cheap!). Please get in touch NOW before this very limited supply flies out of here!!!!
They fear Cindy, mom of dead vet. They fear Tillman family. They fear vets. They fear our unity... PAUL IN ST PAUL fear neocons fear nader paul kucinich gravel mckinney ventura too perot charts RATM Wrenches in the gears; Lives not lived in vain.
In my assessment, the "Obama is corporate-owned" people are primarily McCain disinformation agents. Look, we get one president for the whole country. The place to stand firm on all the progressive issues are legislative and local elections. For president, everybody voting for their personal favorite creates no coalitions, and let's the people-monsters who know how to grab the power have it. I know, it's easier shun coalitions and complain about the mainstream, but real change is hard work.
Put down the Obama aid and do some research that isn't just Obama-propaganda.
The country does only get President and Nader is the man who would be President for all the people.
You like lip service liberals then by all means vote for FISA loving Obama. In this country you're allowed to be an ignorant voter. Even encouraged to be one.
I vote for candidates who represent me even more closely in the houses where we're meant to have many voices, mainly independents, Greens, Libertarians, etc. For President, I woke up grounded and said, "I'm here to win and to work." Thanks for your reply, but I'm no agent. My point remains any candidate who won't win, when you drop the imagination and the idea of "pressure from the left," IMHO is a "nobel" refusal to form coalitions for change, which is the game in this 3-D reality.
I play the right game a the right level. I actually prop up Nader's positions so the population actually starts to get it -- right through Nov 3! Different rules of the game apply for Nov 4 because my children and I live with the results of that game for 1561 days. Then back to the groundworks fight Nov 5 onward. To everything there is a season. I'm not stubborn, and I know the game I'm playing and when. Ralph knows that I'm sure.
Haronmchl, Disinformation? The entire Dem Party and talking points like yours are disinfo. Iraq War, Patriot Act, FISA, turning down public funds, refusal to impeach, pro-corporate tort reform, Wall Street bailout, been paying attention? Coalitions? Are you talking about the Bush-Pelosi-Obama-McCain-Wall Street Coalition? Let them have their Wall Street bailout, but I think it's time for a voter bailout. Real change happens by putting your foot down, not being hemmed in by "lesser evils".
Jenups, when you put your foot down through activism on every level, which I am with you 100% to fight and evolve beyond all these injustices -- the loudness and power of the stomp is effected by who is in office. If we don't learn how to play the game called "elections" - its rules, its strategies, and its art, we are going to be run off our own field. Let's put our feet down with a plan including direct action, ballot initiatives, local representative elections, and the president mindfully.
Haronmchl BTW, i'm an adult and parent and mindful...cut the condescension. I do not want an Obama presidency any more than a McCain. Dems have shown themselves esp. ineffective holding party accountable, gullible to leaders' excuses of poltiical expedience. Corprotocracy uses this weakness to its every advantage as it pushes through the worst structural damage. Irresponsible Dems get off "guilt-free", bought into Democratic Party image...as they support the same corrupt Duopoly.
Jenups and All, only respectful dialogue intended, not condescension. You really have great points that I agree with and fight on the same side. I'm just looking at it differently than you on the specific issue of voting for president. Just as each Green is unique, is each Dem an individual. One human being will be signing bills, appointing judges and cabinet advisors, making speeches and representing the u.s. gov in the world.
Get a life piece of hitler people, Sounds like Obama and McCain will continue with the war Iraq when you think the Obama "Black Force" will fight by you, and by your family anybody is being killed at iraq any bomb is being exploded, and why ? do ya think anybody that who don't matter for see people diyng will be good for you, Wake up suckers
Ralph Nader's campaign is aiming to collect a TOTAL of 2 million in contributions. McCain and Obama are well into the hundreds of millions already. Nader doesn't own a house or a car, he has no wife, no children, and no apparent media or corporation to profit by running. Pull your head out of your ass and get your facts straight. Ralph Nader is the only candidate fighting for you and your best interests. Wake up.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Are you guys kidding me? Ron Paul would own Ralph Nader in a political debate. Ron Paul has been consistent with his voting record, and really understand what TRUE FREEDOM is. Look him up if you want. Hey, even Nader said he doesn't agree with a few things, but he would definitely vote for him. No joke.
ron paul bowed out of the race on june 12th and is using his remaining campaign contributions for "campaign for liberty." i like ron paul and what he's saying, but come on dude. get your facts straight. nader is the man to vote for in november if you want change. ron paul is officially out of the race.
I appreciate your admiration for Ron Paul, but Nader is no slouch when it comes to knowledge, experience, and debate. In a perfect world, Nader and Paul would BOTH be debating each other on national television. As it stands Paul is out and Nader is doing all that he can to get into the debates. He is the best candidate remaining that shares many themes and stances with Ron Paul. Ron Paul is a hell of an American and I trust he will be back soon, but it's time for his supporters to back Nader
Your right! Why would anyone want a canadite who takes money from goups who are for the rest of america and not big business? I never realized Nader was such a hypocrite. I mean, it is not like he says he is for "the little guy". So how dare he take money from these lobby groups?
Those of us working to elect Nader Gonzalez will be immune from the Democratic war machine led by BO. As usual, the DP destroys the Peace movement every 4 years. Thanks Ralph for standing up for the Peace movement. Nader won the California Peace & Freedom Party primary. Come to their Convention in Sacto on Aug 2, to protect this victory & put Nader on the ballot. Yes.
With the stroke of a pen the President could create a 30 hour work week at 40 hours pay, for all Federal employees. This would create 11 million jobs. If the Federal government set the example, then the states would follow suit. Then progressive hi tech companies, would follow suit. In one year we could turn the whole economy around. Now it is time for America to adopt the 30 hour week, & so lead the world into a new decade of prosperity.
The way to create jobs is to lower the work week to a 30 hour week at 40 hours pay , for all Federal employees. That would create 10 million jobs in one month.
With the stroke of a pen the President could create a 30 hour work week for all Federal employees. This would create 10 million new jobs. If the Fed gov set the example, then the state governments would follow suit. Hi tech companies like Microsoft & Toyota would follow suit. In one year we could turn the whole economy around.
Please read my reply on paul8kangas post. The jobs would be created because you would have to hire people people to cover the shifts. that's how it creates more jobs, and it's been done before. Read "Take Back Your Time" by John de Graaf.
I believe you are right. This is something they did to create more jobs during the "Great Depression"
People should read "Take Back Your Time" by John de Graaf. The problem is, what about people in the private sector? Companies who let their employees work 30 hours per week should get big tax breaks.
That could do amazing things for the country because people would have time to get involved in politics and community.
Companies with a 40+ work week, should have to pay higher taxes.
Lol! You advocate subscribing to Brave New Films and Veracifier? They're so obviously partisan Democrats! Do they ever really hold their own side accountable? Maybe when it's Hilary but esp. not Obama. When's the last time Veracifier or Brave new films made a video criticizing Obama? All they do is kiss his ass, and I'm sure Robert Greenwald, being the "independent newsman" that he is, is gonna vote for him in November.
I'm sick of people claiming to be "indie media" and being partisan.
Nader and his running mate have done more than Obama individually. Its a no brainer. The moment Obama got his nomination he began bowing down to AIPAC as well as the ethanol special interest. Sell ethanol? How bout a free handout straight out of the American taxpayer's pockets? The Israeli government acting without accountability? Sounds great! I'm sure American families are willing to sacrifice their 1st born children for that. Iraq anyone? How bout Iran? How bout Syria?
haha its funny because nader is so boring--- mccain is the life of the party? He's the death of the party. Obama has the brains of a 9th grader, not boaring, embarrassing.
I would vote for Nader/Gonzalez if he would come out for a 30 hour work week for all Federal employees. This is the key step to moving the whole nation towards full employment.
30 hour workweek is a joke, considering most people work more than 40 a week already. almost a utopian idea which will never happen, although every employee would support it including me.
laughing..they're busy enjoying shorter work weeks and longer vacations while we shuffle meekly along...prisoners of corporte greed, doing whatever the 'boss man' tells us to do, and believing all the BS.
Wake up, America! We've been 'chumped', by the corporate media and by OUR own government, who tell us America is a model of progress, freedom and virtue.
Nader exposes the LIE...which explains why we hear so little from him or about the issues he advocates.
Nader not only talks the talk, he INVENTED the walk and walks it TODAY.
He is one of the only people who says what he will do and DOES IT.
People try to disparage him but their insults speak only to their lack of information.
This Cynthia seems to be on the right track BUT she is NO Ralph Nader. This man is educated, bipartisan, Pro freedom, pro safety, pro justice for EVERYONE, anti war, anti corporate rule. Just a FEW of Ralphs beliefs. This is his LIFES work.
well said. And u know what, if it wasn't for Nader, I would be working for Cynthia but thank God there's still spirit in Nader. And you bet we're gonna give the duopoly HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He'll call out Hillary, Obama, and McCain on their policies, rake over the two-party system, but give NO good reason as to why he is qualified, even after he's been exposed as putting his own desires above the needs of the people. He's helped Bush win, he's contributed to that system, and he's still running and criticizing everyone else?! Bullshit, bullshit, bullshit! I hope he finally gets the message when Cynthia McKinney knocks him down into the mud!!
Fuck all politicians, our government is in complete control. Study history, the only way change was made or change of government was made was through force. And according to the Bible the Most High is going to destroy Amerika anyways via thermal nuclear destruction.
In contrast, in the United States we use "winner-take-all" single seat districts, where votes going to a losing candidate are wasted, even if that candidate garners 49.9% of the vote. This leaves significant groupings of voters unrepresented. Voters understand this possibility, and so often we do not vote for a candidate we like, but rather the one who realistically stands the best chance of winning -- the "lesser of two evils." Or, all too often, we don't bother to vote at all.
Full representation (also known as "Proportional Representation," or "PR") voting systems are used by most of the world's established democracies. Under full representation, representatives are elected from multi-seat districts in proportion to the number of votes received.Full representation assures that political parties or candidates will have the percent of legislative seats that reflects their public support.A party or candidate need not come in first to win seats
3rd parties are terrible to the country. Ralph Nader and his supporters are complete idiots and try to paint themselves a world that is not real or even feasible. Someone should just kill the fuck.
you should actually do research on the candidate before you go and vote for them. Not jump to stupid conclussions about things you know nothing about. Nader is an idiot and claims to believe in unions but in reality he does not. Why doesn't he EVER release his tax information, sounds suspicious if he's so 'honest' he's also incapable of debate and will not show up to any debate whatsoever. I wouldn't want a person like this for office.
this reply truly shows reeks of ignorance. he is more than capable of debate, and as such has been barred from entering to even view one live (last time between bush and gore).
you're right glddraco.... big ideals are one thing -showing off with unrealistic ideas is another. Clintons healthcare for all sounds good but won't come about because NOT everyone supports her idea. Obama's idea would get more support and thus would make a big start on universal healthcare being a reality. Nader of late is boring and unrealistic which is why he gets nowhere.
oh thats nice, what a reasoned response.... youd rather vote for mccain and clinton and enslave yourself further? good plan, you can bet the first to join up when the next bullshit war starts under one of thise two, if in fact they win which i hope to christ for the country they dont.
I know NObama is a hack, believe me! I wasn't saying anything supporting the two-party system, because that shit is one of the biggest tools of political oppression and needs to be brought down. Nader can talk the talk, but even he can't walk the walk! If he really believed half of what he said, he'd step aside and let the true hero, Cynthia McKinney (she who risked her reputation to be the first to question 9/11)step up and draw all feuding alternative groups together for the interests of ALL!
I agree Nader's views smoke Obamas and especially McCains, which is the reason he's unelectable. Let him stand up to Big businesses and the pro-Israeli lobby and he'll be joining Kennedy/McKinley/Garfield in no time. Unfortunately that's the reality.
Hello, Computerhelper21, I believe that you are speaking from a place and in an arena of which you seem to know nothing about. You are not understanding the most basic point: Ralph Nader is a THIRD party candidate. The two party system is exactly what I do not want. I believe that everything that Ralph Nader has stood for and stands for is exactly what I WANT and EXPECT from the president of my country. Based on your ill logic, all other candidates are stealing votes from Nader. Got it?
Look man, your just making it harder for all us. You guys are just so stuck up. Democrats agree on lot with nadder. repbulcans don't!!!!!1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its logical you are the one who ill logical. go ahead cost us the electoin again. asshole
I don't consider you an enemy. We would agree with a lot. I agree a lot with nader. Only thing is no IN Way in hell will he become president. he's too little and always will be the under dog. At least democrats will give us heath care! nader + democrats= change. Republicans + nader= NO CHANGE AT ALL. get it!

He runs to keep the issues alive in debate.

How did that vote for Nader work out anyways? Did he win? Keep voting for someone who can't possibly win and you'll never see anything get done. Fucking idiot.
olivemike81 2 years ago
Hitler won too. Would you have voted for Hitler? Fucking idiot.
brainsplatty 2 years ago
No but I bet you were the guy who would have said "oh Hitler and this other guy are the same. So Instead of voting for the other guy I'll vote for the douchebag who has no chance so Hitler will win."
olivemike81 2 years ago
I guess I just wasn't as afraid of Bush as you were. Once you recognize that the system is flawed, you'll stop pushing the blame on a guy like Nader and maybe swing that judgmental pendulum towards the people who could actually fix the system. Think about it... Gore/Lieberman? What are the democrats thinking? They should get rid of the electoral college, maybe add run off voting or something similar, and stop crying because they keep losing every other election cycle with mediocre candidates.
brainsplatty 2 years ago
If you didn't recognize how dangerous Bush was after his first term you truly are an idiot. I'm guessing you voted for Nader in 2004. And the fact that Nader couldn't see the difference between Bush and Kerry proves that he's a selfish asshole who's more interested in his own ambitions than he is doing what's best for the country.
olivemike81 2 years ago
Hell yes I voted for Nader in 04 and 08, and I'll vote for a third party in 12. I wish I voted for him in 00 instead of not voting cause I was so disappointed in your flawed two party politics. Just like a democrat to call people idiots if they disagree with you. You don't sound any better than some republicans I've talked to. Just so ya know Gore/Lieberman would have invaded the Middle East too. Clinton bombed Iraq throughout the 90's. They work for the same assholes and it aint we the people.
brainsplatty 2 years ago 3
I don't call people idiots for disagreeing with me. Just people who can't see what a waste a third party vote is. Oh and yes of course you didn't vote in 2000. I bet you still bitched about everything too. One of those lazy losers who just writes off their responsibilities with some lame excuse.
So where's your proof Gore would have invaded Iraq? There is none because he wasn't going to. And bombing isn't the same as invading. Bombing didn't get 4000+ Americans killed and billions wasted.
olivemike81 2 years ago
Proof = Clinton/Gore killed Iraqis & Gore is a push over who gave the election to Bush (he shoulda pulled a Norm Coleman and dragged it out to the bitter end) oh and then there's fucking LIEBERMAN... 'nuff said. The obvious aside, you've made up your mind that all the world's problems are all Nader's fault. But that sounds like sore loser talk to me. P.S. A waste isn't voting for "third" party, it's a waste having a so-called democracy then being told your an idiot for expressing your freedom.
brainsplatty 2 years ago
Once again, bombing isn't invading and it's not proof of what Gore would have done. So he's a pushover who would have ordered an invasion of another country? You don't get to the top of American politics by being a pushover. That's proof of how little you actually understand of politics. I don't blame Nader for all the world's problems. I blame him for not being able to distinguish between a lesser of two evils and failing to see how truly dangerous Bush was.............
olivemike81 2 years ago
Except you don't understand yet, that the "choice" you have in government... are both EVIL... and you just choose the lesser of the two... On the left, you have hitler... on the right, you have hitler... with a different skin color...
Get what I'm saying at all? Or should I explain it so that a 2 year old can understand?
cloud1232006 2 years ago 2
Good job calling Obama Hitler. You just proved that you can't think for yourself and just mindlessly call people Hitler because your own political views are so unsophisticated. Apparently you don't even know what Hitler did. He invaded most of Europe and killed millions of people, including the murder of 6 million Jews. When Obama does that then you can call him Hitler. Dumb fuck.
olivemike81 2 years ago
Well then, how did hitler make the people love him the way democrats love obama? Can't think for myself? what do you mean? You're under the illusion of choice but in reality you have none... Obama hasn't changed any of bush's policies... but w/e you'll see soon enough and will be one of those people crying... being forced to do things... because of complacency and ignorance...
What's a "sophisticated" political viewpoint?
And why are we still in afghanistan?
And the economy?
Dumb fuck...
cloud1232006 2 years ago 2
I her were serious he would focus his efforts on building a long term third party that could actually gain real political party. Instead he just runs every four years, makes himself look even mor rediculous each time, all the while pissing away money and time that could be better spent building a real political base. But hey keep voting for Nader if you don't mind just jerking off every election.
olivemike81 2 years ago

JewsNotSmartJustEvil 3 years ago
Obama is a zionist as well. Plus the elite of this country don't want to kill him yet, atleast. They have much more use for him alive. The people love him & blindly trust him so they will follow him in whatever he says. They are so brainwashed that he could be worse than Bush & they won't realize it. Operation Obama is a mass mind control program with the objective of getting people to trust government again, it has nothing to do w/ changing things for the better. Just look at Obama's cabinet.

I dont get it.
acanawuppazz 3 years ago
To acanawuppazz - He did the right thing by suing blood-sucking corporations. You are assuming that all people with money are or should be 'pro' corporations or that they become (stay) rich by sucking up to them. Serves them right, (the corporations that is). What goes round comes round.

I know, it's easier shun coalitions and complain about the mainstream, but real change is hard work.
haronmichael 3 years ago
Look up Obama + Exelon. Or Obama + Murdoch.
Are you the REAL McCain agent?
deaddora 3 years ago 2
I vote for candidates who represent me even more closely in the houses where we're meant to have many voices, mainly independents, Greens, Libertarians, etc. For President, I woke up grounded and said, "I'm here to win and to work." Thanks for your reply, but I'm no agent. My point remains any candidate who won't win, when you drop the imagination and the idea of "pressure from the left," IMHO is a "nobel" refusal to form coalitions for change, which is the game in this 3-D reality.
haronmichael 3 years ago
So you'd rather vote for someone "who can win" and still end up losing?

I play the right game a the right level. I actually prop up Nader's positions so the population actually starts to get it -- right through Nov 3! Different rules of the game apply for Nov 4 because my children and I live with the results of that game for 1561 days. Then back to the groundworks fight Nov 5 onward. To everything there is a season. I'm not stubborn, and I know the game I'm playing and when. Ralph knows that I'm sure.
haronmichael 3 years ago
Haronmchl, Disinformation? The entire Dem Party and talking points like yours are disinfo. Iraq War, Patriot Act, FISA, turning down public funds, refusal to impeach, pro-corporate tort reform, Wall Street bailout, been paying attention? Coalitions? Are you talking about the Bush-Pelosi-Obama-McCain-Wall Street Coalition? Let them have their Wall Street bailout, but I think it's time for a voter bailout. Real change happens by putting your foot down, not being hemmed in by "lesser evils".
jenups 3 years ago 2
Jenups, when you put your foot down through activism on every level, which I am with you 100% to fight and evolve beyond all these injustices -- the loudness and power of the stomp is effected by who is in office. If we don't learn how to play the game called "elections" - its rules, its strategies, and its art, we are going to be run off our own field. Let's put our feet down with a plan including direct action, ballot initiatives, local representative elections, and the president mindfully.
haronmichael 3 years ago
Haronmchl BTW, i'm an adult and parent and mindful...cut the condescension. I do not want an Obama presidency any more than a McCain. Dems have shown themselves esp. ineffective holding party accountable, gullible to leaders' excuses of poltiical expedience. Corprotocracy uses this weakness to its every advantage as it pushes through the worst structural damage. Irresponsible Dems get off "guilt-free", bought into Democratic Party image...as they support the same corrupt Duopoly.
jenups 3 years ago 2
Jenups and All, only respectful dialogue intended, not condescension. You really have great points that I agree with and fight on the same side. What will it take to turn the economy around?
With the stroke of a pen the President could create a 30 hour work week at 40 hours pay, for all Federal employees. This would create 11 million jobs. If the Federal government set the example, then the states would follow suit. Then progressive hi tech companies, would follow suit. In one year we could turn the whole economy around. Now it is time for America to adopt the 30 hour week, & so lead the world into a new decade of prosperity.
paul8kangas 3 years ago
The way to create jobs is to lower the work week to a 30 hour week at 40 hours pay , for all Federal employees. That would create 10 million jobs in one month.
With the stroke of a pen the President could create a 30 hour work week for all Federal employees. This would create 10 million new jobs. If the Fed gov set the example, then the state governments would follow suit. Hi tech companies like Microsoft & Toyota would follow suit. In one year we could turn the whole economy around.
paul8kangas 3 years ago
There's essential services that would not be able to staff a 24-hour shift with employees only working 30 hours a weeks.
Besides, how would it create ten million new 'Federal' jobs that don't already exist? Federal jobs are not usually poorly paid or staffed.
r3s3t063 3 years ago
Please read my reply on paul8kangas post. The jobs would be created because you would have to hire people people to cover the shifts. that's how it creates more jobs, and it's been done before. Read "Take Back Your Time" by John de Graaf.
MrXfromPlanetX 3 years ago
I believe you are right. This is something they did to create more jobs during the "Great Depression"
People should read "Take Back Your Time" by John de Graaf. The problem is, what about people in the private sector? Companies who let their employees work 30 hours per week should get big tax breaks.
That could do amazing things for the country because people would have time to get involved in politics and community.
Companies with a 40+ work week, should have to pay higher taxes.
MrXfromPlanetX 3 years ago
I dont understand how a 30 hour work weak would get more jobs. Would nt that just mean they work less?

haha its funny because nader is so boring--- mccain is the life of the party? He's the death of the party. Obama has the brains of a 9th grader, not boaring, embarrassing.

I would vote for Nader/Gonzalez if he would come out for a 30 hour work week for all Federal employees. This is the key step to moving the whole nation towards full employment.
paul8kangas 3 years ago
30 hour workweek is a joke, considering most people work more than 40 a week already. almost a utopian idea which will never happen, although every employee would support it including me.
r3s3t063 3 years ago
Some joke! Europeans aren't
laughing..they're busy enjoying shorter work weeks and longer vacations while we shuffle meekly along...prisoners of corporte greed, doing whatever the 'boss man' tells us to do, and believing all the BS.
Wake up, America! We've been 'chumped', by the corporate media and by OUR own government, who tell us America is a model of progress, freedom and virtue.
Nader exposes the LIE...which explains why we hear so little from him or about the issues he advocates.
aybayb 3 years ago
Nader not only talks the talk, he INVENTED the walk and walks it TODAY.
He is one of the only people who says what he will do and DOES IT.
People try to disparage him but their insults speak only to their lack of information.
This Cynthia seems to be on the right track BUT she is NO Ralph Nader. This man is educated, bipartisan, Pro freedom, pro safety, pro justice for EVERYONE, anti war, anti corporate rule. Just a FEW of Ralphs beliefs. This is his LIFES work.
Cynthia shows promise.

You don't appreciate the best thing that has happened in our lifetime, Ralph Nader.
Nobama is dirt next to someone like Nader.
Ralph protects you even though you are an ARSE. You should thank him for all he has done, is doing, and will do .
You sound like those empty headed followers, NObamas. Aren't you too far from the velvet rope?
Go home, the false god calls you. Kiss his wife, I mean his A ss

Fuck all politicians, our government is in complete control. Study history, the only way change was made or change of government was made was through force. And according to the Bible the Most High is going to destroy Amerika anyways via thermal nuclear destruction.

No wonder that, among the 21 democracies in Western Europe and North America, the United States ranks near the bottom in voter turnout.
aicram62 3 years ago
In contrast, in the United States we use "winner-take-all" single seat districts, where votes going to a losing candidate are wasted, even if that candidate garners 49.9% of the vote. This leaves significant groupings of voters unrepresented. Voters understand this possibility, and so often we do not vote for a candidate we like, but rather the one who realistically stands the best chance of winning -- the "lesser of two evils." Or, all too often, we don't bother to vote at all.

Frequently Asked Questions
Full representation (also known as "Proportional Representation," or "PR") voting systems are used by most of the world's established democracies. Under full representation, representatives are elected from multi-seat districts in proportion to the number of votes received.Full representation assures that political parties or candidates will have the percent of legislative seats that reflects their public support.A party or candidate need not come in first to win seats

"Do think america is going to vote for a pro war John McCain?"
Pretty much, yea. We sure as hell aren't voting for you.

3rd parties are terrible to the country. Ralph Nader and his supporters are complete idiots and try to paint themselves a world that is not real or even feasible. Someone should just kill the fuck.
glddraco 3 years ago
how are third parties (or more) bad for democracy exactly? more choices when both parties are sounding very similar.
r3s3t063 3 years ago
you should actually do research on the candidate before you go and vote for them. I wouldn't want a person like this for office.
glddraco 3 years ago
this reply truly shows reeks of ignorance. he is more than capable of debate, and as such has been barred from entering to even view one live (last time between bush and gore).
r3s3t063 3 years ago
Who told you that? Nader? If you did proper research you would find his ideas are extremely unrealistic. It's all words and propaganda.
glddraco 3 years ago
there is documented video and evidence of him being banned from the presidential debates although he is a candidate. what else do you need?
r3s3t063 3 years ago
you're right glddraco.... big ideals are one thing -showing off with unrealistic ideas is another. Clintons healthcare for all sounds good but won't come about because NOT everyone supports her idea. Obama's idea would get more support and thus would make a big start on universal healthcare being a reality. Nader of late is boring and unrealistic which is why he gets nowhere.
slizzler1 3 years ago
oh thats nice, what a reasoned response.... youd rather vote for mccain and clinton and enslave yourself further? good plan, you can bet the first to join up when the next bullshit war starts under one of thise two, if in fact they win which i hope to christ for the country they dont.

Better than NObama
blackcatsoda 3 years ago
I know NObama is a hack, believe me! I wasn't saying anything supporting the two-party system, because that shit is one of the biggest tools of political oppression and needs to be brought down. Nader can talk the talk, but even he can't walk the walk! If he really believed half of what he said, he'd step aside and let the true hero, Cynthia McKinney (she who risked her reputation to be the first to question 9/11)step up and draw all feuding alternative groups together for the interests of ALL!
SpiralEyelash7 3 years ago

Got it?
pearharp 3 years ago

Republicans + nader= NO CHANGE AT ALL. get it!
