zc dohc engines were equipped in domestic hondas they were just named differently the most common being the d16a1 in the crx the only dohc zc that was not sold in the us was the fourth gen zc which was the end of the dohc d series check thezcr.com and learn your motors

@fford187 The dohc zc did not come out of first gen integras that would be a d16a1. It's jdm only engine was never put in ANY us domestic car.

@XxhighlyfexX jdm si's not the sir but japan's si. First gen integra's are not the same, the driverside mount is different. They're great and easy to put into 88-91 civics...

This is my car now I am putting some upgrades on it like upping the injectors from 450cc to 780cc and then getting it retuned shooting for 450hp now

You have a built DOHC ZC what internals do you have?

@gytr450 the inside of a zc sohc/dohc are same as d16 internals for the head use b16 valve springs and retainers, valves for a zc or d16 (may fit) cams have to be zc becausse its not a vtec Ect...

some say they are great some say they are bad. ive seen the history of 3 of them and only 1 was worth a shit and now it has a turbo.... the other 2 are still alive but constantly have unexplained issues and are quite underpowered. More people argue about ZCs than any other honda engine. i will never buy one. just get a b18 non vtec and build that and put a turbo on it. it will keep your wallet from being empty all the time.
