another good reason they sound good on this video is because the drums are in a confined small space. it resonates well. if ur out in the open it will sound horrible unless micd.

are those emp's on the toms? how tight do you tune them? like.. total number of turns on each lug... obviously everyone uses the bob gatzen technique but my starclassics are way too sensitive!
