  • Chef Sir - I boiled potato and mixed with sabudana , i also added peanut powder, red chilli powder , jeera and salt .. but unfortunately when i put the vada in oil , it is not getting bound. Everything is getting separated. I increased the potato amount but still it is not working. :(

  • @bornforbeer I guess its peanut powder making it to break. mm just a guess.. :)

  • @bornforbeer : whenever we fry anything that contavins boiled potato, the temp of the oil should be very hot. try and keeping the temp nice and hot and then fry the wadas.. may be it helps :)

  • @bornforbeer I am sure there is moisture in your mix. Whenever there is moisture things will break when you put in oil. Try putting a kitchen paper towel or clean cloth towel on the potatoes after squeezing them before adding other ingradients.

  • I like seeing you enjoy the cooked food at the end. That makes me go and prepare my own. I also like you prepare them quickly not worrying too much about the mess or cleaning. Doing videos comes so naturally to you.

  • Hi chef..how to get soft sabudana? I soaked the sabudana in water mixed with curd for 4 hours and still there were some hard sabudana pearls. Any tips for softness?

  • @anupamajuturu try soaking them overnight

  • you say that raw potato is better because it absorbs less oil...but i heard if you use cooked potato, you can simply shallow fry it like an alloo tikki...

  • hi sanjay, ur vada seems 2 b soo good.. i gonna try that soon but can u tell me the quantity of the ingredients that u have added ..so that i can make it perfect...plz help

  • how can we put onion and rice flour in it during vrat? so u must say this while showing this reciepe..............its best to make without it and have it in vrat............say this in ur next episode.......thanx

  • hey sanjay...... hope u understand that sabudanna vada is authentic fasting recipe and onions and rice flour doesnt go in the list of allowed items to eat.

The best authentic Maharastrian recipe for Sabudanna Vada is soaked tapioca, cut green chilies, boiled potatoes, jeera, salt and coarse peanut powder- all smashed together and made into small flat balls and fried. For Chutney- coarse peanut powder + green chilies+ jeera with salt in curd.

Trust me, nothing can be better than this.
