Buddy fantastic cover I'm from Argentin and I'm a Badfinger fan of course, since my 12 years, I'm 53 now and a musician too you can watch my videos, thanks for the tips to play this fantastic song, I'm practicing now.
That was cool.I was a military brat over in England late 60's and early 70's.That song was a big hit and I met Badfinger at the BBC1 Studios after a Top of The Pops show.We used to get free passes to some of the BBC tapings.
Thank you! I am also a big Cheap Trick fan. I've seen them live before and actually I was on the front row or very close...and wound up with about some of Rick's guitar picks that had a characture of him printed on one side and his name on the other. They are a great band.
Thanks! My wife has never bought me a guitar...LOL But...she has also never stopped me from buying one either so I guess in a way that is just a s good! The Posters are originals from the late 1960's and early 1970's mostly. I have collected the art of the great Peter Max most of my life. He has a great site you should check out if you like pop art. -BC
Love this video, too bad the site won't let me post a comment on it. I like the pictures on the wall, I am from that era. The guitar (an oldie) you are playing sounds just like Peter Hamm's. I was in 10th grade when this song came out. I still have the original album, "Straight Up". Thanks for making my day, Buddy !!!" I posted another comment with my email address.
Thanks! Look around for a good used Hot Rod DeVille. They are good amps...but very heavy and loud! I bought both of mine used but in excellent condition...and they both have held up well. -BC
You know, I don't think I've ever seen any used Hot Rod DeVille in a local music store, but next time I go I'll have to look for one!
I must say that, even though I don't mind used products, I'd still prefer a brand new one, which I hope I can get one day so that I can do some better quality recordings...of course, I'll also want a computer and some better video-editing software too (I guess I'll be looking for a Mac)!
Thanks! Most of the time it takes a few minutes...sometimes longer. Most of the songs I'm putting up here I've known since they were new or close to new and for me that makes playing them a lot easier. I usually can play most of what I hear...but leads take a little longer in general. -BC
It's a nice guitar...but not the best playing guitar I've ever played by any stretch. Actually, I like the action on my Gibson Flying V better...in terms of the Gibsons I own. -BC
Buddy, you are quite the guitar chameleon-Joey Molland I once saw live and he was playing an SG through a Hiwatt bulldog combo. You got it though.Have you ever tried to cover Bill Nelson's"OCTOBERMAN"?There's a nice version on youtube, but I'd bet yours would be much more accurate
Damn. That made my whole week! I'm a huge Badfinger fan, and for the guitar parts it's an excellent song. You nailed it. Thanks for choosing this tune man.
Nice playing!!! plus nice les paul! i have one too and its a VOS 1959 Standard, what would you recomend? a Marshall JVM Series Combo or the Vintage Modern? Wat amp are you playing through??
Really 'professional' cover...very nice! You sound 'flawless'..by the way I always wonder where Karaoke companies get such great 'imitators'? I like to learn to play guitar to a lot of 'Oldies' listening to Karaoke backing tracks. Then there is the whole 'guitar hero' genre as well.
hey, you are always so relaxed at playing...Like your Stuff....have seen Badfinger last August in Cavern Club Liverpool at Beatleweek 2008...Greetigs from cold Cologne/Germany
Superb! Now that you're on a Badfinger vein, I would love to hear your cover of 'Rock of All Ages' or 'I'll Be the One' which are both tracks on the Very Best of Badfinger CD. Keep rockin' Buddy!
Thanks! I've never worried too much about what anyone complained about...LOL Actually, I've never had a complaint...but I have a pretty big yard and I am a good distance from my closest neighbor....maybe 400-500ft. so its not a problem...yet! -BC

Poor old Pete Ham used the SG George Harrison gave him, the same one seen in the Beatles' Paperback Writer/Rain promos. The whereabouts of this guitar are now unknown as Pete's widow sold it in a garage sale for a song in the years after Pete died!
Yeah, I'll say. Badfinger were definitely one of the most underated bands of the late 60s and 70s. I remember I first heard this song when I was about 12 back in 85 or 86. I may have had some compression running also but I didn't even look at the settings. I just flipped on the switches, plugged into my setup, and went at it...as usual ! :-) -BC

Did you do the screens on the wall yourself? Nice! Love the Peter Max show on Infinity.
