The Liberal government works under the basis that the people of BC are all morons, and they are flagrant about it. They tell you that the people who provide goods and services will not have to pay PST, so they in turn will save money and pass that savings on to you, the consumer. the HST REPLACES the PST, and the alleged reduction to consumers, so you in effect are paying the same amount as before. LOL. I have some oceanfront property in Kelowna for those who believe this bullshit.

It is a step in the right direction, but does not go far enough. The way I read 'The Constitution Act' (in Canada), I interpret it as ALL provincial sales taxes are (or should be) illegal, as they are NOT a direct tax, and then fall only under Federal jurisdiction. (Section 92 of said Act)

It's everyone's duty to avoid paying HST on as much as they can and start a transition to moving the small business economy underground. it is absolutely despicable the way this tax was brought in and the bs calling it Revenue neutral is crock.
