Sorry, but, uh, what exactly is the outrage here? The cops were clearly trying the best they could to quell a riot. And the protesters were crying peaceful protest, but there was several people throwing punches at the NYPD. Not to mention the fact that the cops were vastly outnumbered and clearly not equipped with riot gear. I also don't see any instance of attacking a disabled assailant or anything like that on behalf of the police. What exactly is the outrage here?

Many people I've talked to aren't even aware this is going on, or think it's not a big deal. If the establishment has its way, by the time this breaks big it will be violent riots, which will give them the initiative. The whole point of these actions is to reveal the underlying brutality of the system by being on higher moral ground.
