Hey Kenny I was wondering if this process would be the same on the code red model? The face plate seems to fit a bit differently than on the older model.
I installed mine a couple of weeks ago and tried to follow your directions to a T
but the string is fraying and needs to be replaced already... I shoot a lot but this cant be right. Do you have any input or suggestions? Any help you can give would be great...Thanx!
@BOGO111 If you read the note on the video and watch what I do it is actually a half turn I just said full turn. Plus the tension isnt that much either way. Also you should take the rest off the bow to replace the cord if you have an extra hand so I'm told.
I do target shooting and use a trophy taker lizard tongue in the fixed position Also using a hoyt 38pro. I rang Hoyt and of course they said I needed a drop away rest. I would really value your opinion as you don't just try to sell stuff but say exactly what you think would work best for me. What should i do go with the drop away or just stick with the fixed one. Some guys at the club say don't change as targets don't move. Please help
I would definately sugest you switch to a dropaway if you are in the market to. Drpos will help your accuracy and give you a little more speed. As for the kind I would use, ask yourself what you would like in a dropaway. I like containment, and simplicity, thats why I like the Ripcord and use them on all my bows. But be sure to shop around to see whats out there and the differences between them.
Great to see a new video of yours, Kenny! Very useful for the Ripcord owners.I wonder would some bow wax on the cord help prevent the fraying or it's not good? Also i have a question about your on-line shop - do you ship to Europe [especially to Bulgaria :) ] and what's the method for paying? Thanks!
I thought about wax but I wondered if it would collect dirt or maybe cause the rest not to drop if it was real cold. I am gonna just leave mine dry it came that way from the factory prolly should keep it that way. I do ship to europe but I am trying to figure the shipping charges out its though, I use paypal for payment.
Thanks for the info, Kenny! I'm in the market for a stabilizer and liked the 4.5" x-coil camo one in your shop, but i'm not familiar with on-line shopping :) When you figure out the charges you may send me a message, if you have the time. Thanks again!
I noticed that too, that rest is over a year old so it might be a good idea to at least look at it when you change your loop out. Also it would depend how much you shoot prolly both loop and cord are worn equally, I'll have to watch this and see.
Looks like it was a good thing you did change the cord on yours. I could see it had started to fray inside the housing. Would you recomend checking/changing the cord when changing the D loop?
Kenny..for some reason you never answer my questions :(...but do you prefer ripcord or QAD?? i m using trophy taker and thinking to change..
