But to say he doesn't get elite players, Brown was the 2nd best player of his recruiting class, and he regularly gets top 100 players. Some players haven't quite panned out but thats not Izzos fault. For instance the only reason Chris Paul didnt come to MSU was because his visit was 9/11/2001 and obviously it got canceled. Would he be a bust just because he played for State? No.

You can't say Duke hasn't produced some good NBA players, so has MSU as well though.

And what you absolutely cannot do is determine which college coaches are better by the NBA players they produce. You have to base it on many things: titles (national, league, etc.), coaches who were mentored by them, what players say about them, what they are able to do with the recruits they get, etc.

And by the way say what you want about Izzo there is no denying how good of a coach he is. 5 final fours in one decade is saying something. MSU isnt like Duke or UNC or Kentucky or UCLA that has all this tradition to sell recruits on. Them schools get lucky becuase of their past. MSU has had Jud and now Izzo and thats about it. MSU was never thought of as a good basketball school until the late 70s when the teams I mentioned before have history dating back to the 50s.
