It's actually pretty common to be allergic to new furniture since the strong glues in them still fumes alot. I woke up with a a bad rash all over my body one time when I was little because of a new bedside table. Since that time I usually put my new furniture out in another room or preferably outside for a few days up to two weeks before I put it to place. I've never had a problem since.

this is weird. ive heard people having allergies to pollen, dust, grass, feathers, and flowers but not sofa's!
