Okay so im 15 and i got a 1972 mercury comet. Like this car. Do you guys know where i can get parts or even help from anybody? Please help me, from a youngen that has no knowledge on these cars :( please help.
well, on a old engine only Valvoline or Havoline really helped. never synthetic, Mobil, or cheap oil. i had issues with viscosity and sticking too a a good brand helped. other than that you really have to just run it too see what going on with it.
there was a electrical issue with the og harness, but that was mine. like im saying your will probably be different. there was nothing major with those vehicles like the exploding Pinto or the rear axle breaking Corvair.
That looks like a 1973 to me. I have a 74 myself and you can tell by the front bumper, 1973 Comets were to only year to have that bumper that sticks out but still isn't at the huge/bulky 1974 and up level. Notice the later pictures have the small 1972 bumper. Looks like your car has a bit of an identity crisis with the maverick gas cap haha. Is that a cold air intake? Good luck with the car, those 302's really are something.
