The problem is the last pole shift had no significant effect on society. The reason I look at these videos is to make sure that doomsayers don't scare children because just like the Y2K hype people do commit suicide because they fear a horrible death. Pole shifts occur at a very Very slow rate. The biggest thing will be an 2-5% increase in the number of skin cancer cases located by the equator.

I worked out the magnitude of the gravitational effect this would cause us on earth. I have checked the numbers and I think they are correct to the nearest order of magnitude. It would be the same as the effect of a baseball held at 20 miles away. Which is probably not enough to cause a leaf to fall never mind adverse weather.

Your video is very misleading. The up and down motion is 33 million above the Plane and 33 million years below the Plane. We came up through the Plane 2 million years ago, so another over 30 million years to go!. Very misleading.

The mayans were talking about an eclipse that was so rare (every 26,000 years) it was going to herald the begining of a new paradise. Bare in mind the mayan civilization was ended by what was essentially a bad drought so clearly they did not have the gift of precognition they thought. Also notice they use lots of "weasel words": many some but never who.

We are currently 30,000 light years away from the center of the galaxy, on the outer edge of the orion arm, a minor spiral arm or spur of the spiral galaxy of the milky way. We're no where NEAR the center of the galactic core. 30,000 light years is hard to fathom, but 1 light year is roughly 6 trillion miles. So were 6 Trillion times 30,000 miles away from the center. If people could travel in a space ship at 25,000 miles per hour, it would take about 10,000 years to reach our closest star.

@justmc9 Basically, the black hole is not having an effect on our solar system ,and were FAR from the center of it's gravitational pull. I'd be more worried right now about our local system, the sun here, i.e. solar flares, and moreso other human beings which can be crazier than our solar system. 2012 is in like 2.5 years, basically a milisecond in space time. We'd be seeing planet X 100 years ago coming and be noticing effects from a black holes 1,000 years ago.

@justmc9 what happened 26,000 years ago have to be taken in account. The fact is that this that crossing the galactic plane has already been in the past and will again be destructive for life forms because of the characteristics of this galactic plane, in relation with gravitation.
So this is less a matter of being near or far away from the galactic center than crossing the galactic plane one more time through earth history.

I find it pointless to agonize over what may or may not happen in 2012. All these videos that are circulating serve no other purpose than to scare people. If you really think about it, even if these events were to happen, there is nothing we can really do to prevent it. We cannot stop earthquakes, hurricanes, tsunamis and all the other natural events. Hence the reason why they are called NATURAL events.

The problem is the last pole shift had no significant effect on society. The reason I look at these videos is to make sure that doomsayers don't scare children because just like the Y2K hype people do commit suicide because they fear a horrible death. Pole shifts occur at a very Very slow rate. The biggest thing will be an 2-5% increase in the number of skin cancer cases located by the equator.

I wouldn't be so worried about this event. I'd be worried about the global economy collapsing. Imagine it, if you can fathom, how exactly the human race would continue to live if the global economy came crashing down. We're still not even close to being in the clear. This recession could get worse and continue for years. Regardless, overpopulation will do is in do to consumption of resources and hyperinflation of food in the next 20 years. I hope you have a survival retreat somewhere!

I worked out the magnitude of the gravitational effect this would cause us on earth. I have checked the numbers and I think they are correct to the nearest order of magnitude. It would be the same as the effect of a baseball held at 20 miles away. Which is probably not enough to cause a leaf to fall never mind adverse weather.

The Dark Rift I Pray will send me home so I can Evolve. I also have always known that I was caught in this beam & pulled to earth this also comes out in dreams & meditation.
