Thumbs down for many reasons. The vocal perfomance is good but copy/pasted from the original: what is the point of doing exactly the same thing as the original ? The song arrangements are identical to a point that it is hard to recognize the original from the copy: again, what is the point ? The excellent Organ B3 solo is missing :(..Seems to me the producers from Briget Jones didn't want to pay for the original so they had a copy made. Sam Brown version has a lot more feeling and depth.

Nope, Sam's original is much better. This is good, but doesn't have the feeling or power of Sam's. It also lacks soul, a little too fast and machine-like - no changes in tempo and probably a drum machine is involved somewhere.

I think I'd appreciate Jamellia singing this better if they'd changed the arrangement a bit more. As it is this just sounds like a direct karaoke version of the original, they've only slightly changed the break, the rest is almost identical. SO what was the point? Just a vehicle for yet another minor pop-diva? Or to differentiate the song just enough for some reason- was it also already used in another film?

Being technically good does not make you a great singer. Sure she hits the right notes, and has some awesome vocal acrobatics, mellismas and overused vibrato as seems to be required these days, but there is ZERO emotional connection here, and this comes through the performance. All style, no substance. Sam Brown version is far superior cos she is emotionally connected, and her voice has guts and character, unlike the pristine, audio-airbrushed mediocrity we have here...
