Yeah, this race is pretty rough, even though it's the shortest one of the series. Check out the profile by punching this into Google: "northeast cycling burke mountain profile". It's the first result. I would include a link, but Youtube doesn't allow it.
@greglarkin Grimace! I just looked at it. I would LOVE to ride up that mountain. Notice I said "ride", not "race" ;p I would suffer enough just riding it. It would make a great video though!
@cyclingfun2 Most of the courses in the BUMPS series can be ridden on at any time, with the exception of Mt. Washington and Equinox. That's not to say that people don't do it anyway!
@greglarkin I saw someone's stealth night ride video up Mt. Washington. I really think they need to get with the times and lift the ban on bicycles on those roads. Why are bikes banned anyway? Seems kind of stupid to me.
@cyclingfun2 There are good reasons for those two mountains - Equinox is privately owned by a monastery, and they have liability concerns. There's one corner in particular that you could go flying off of if you lost your brakes. Mt. Washington is just too dangerous at the summit w/ unpredictable weather conditions to allow unsupported riders to ride up it. The road is super narrow in spots w/ dropoffs and tons of cars getting in the way. Unfortunate for us pedal-powered types, for sure!

@greglarkin Thanks for explaining. :) Yes, those are very good reasons.
