  • SWAAG.

  • what camara are you using and what is the setting called

    plz tyty

  • LIGHT SABERS!

  • cool video, thanks for uploading! it looks so easyy, but when i tried to do it myself i totally failed:D

  • How do you even make light grafiti?

  • im rollin on E.. holyfuckinshyt this is a trip to watch!

  • That was hot !!! Did you use after effect ?? here is my Light painting video with a cut story : w ww.youtube.com/watch?v=dSH0HeRcHjk

  • Portal 2 Ending (PT-BR): /watch?v=G8RMgni8uZA

  • this is not light painting, this is trapcode particular done with after effects.... daaa

  • I'm pretty sure that they put the people on afterwards because the image behind them doesn't change. watch the streetlights.

  • @LemonumNade Why would anything behind them change?

  • @moviesunrated because it's supposed to look like a video clip not a still image with video overlay.

  • @LemonumNade What are you saying there should be cars going past and stuff?

The video response seems to be the same thing. Are there any examples in that or something? I'm a bit confused as to what you're trying to say.

  • How do they do this? I made one myself, but it isn't this advanced. It's like the one at the end saying "Kuga".

I probably did it wrong but check it out on my channel if you wish. I'll share my technique if anyone wants to know.

  • @Genixel there's actually a video editor out there called Kdenlive for linux that allows you to make this effect super easily. you should check it out :)

  • thats so freakin awesome!

  • You can change The sensibilty so the camera only will notice the really bright lights (tested it on my iPhone and it works.)

  • haha this is awesome

  • this can be easily done, even with a phone camera. the trick is removing all the dark parts of each frame and keeping the most bright parts (this can be easily done in aftereffects using extract keying) then blending frames over time(using time blend effect). then you will need to add it on top of the original video. and it will look exactly like this.

  • how long was your exposure setting on for??

  • What kind of lights are used? Been looking for some like those!

  • @youreacoolcat

Afaik they are called cold cathodes. Car accessoirs, can be run with AA batteries. There is a blog post on diyphotography. net about these. I will eventually have to get some :)

  • that is so cool!

  • HOW!?!?! could you please explain?

  • how do u get the light to stay like that...i do light graffiti to but im only able to do it with pictures

  • @3dxavier

They say this effect is done in-camera (i.e. programmed on hardware). So, closed source.

I've just written an effect for kdenlive (video editing program) which does the same. See here: kdenlive. org/users/granjow/writing-light-graffiti-effect

  • Awesome

  • Nice job This is legit!!!

  • friggin amazing

  • heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy wake up dude... can you give a answer to the highest rated comments ??????

  • can you do this with any professional camera?

  • @nicknguyie You can even do this with an iPhone ;)

  • @RbmxR you can even do this with a Windows Paint ;)

  • WHERE CAN I BUY THIS LIGHTSABER ???

  • how did your light stay still while youw ere still moving?

  • go to lightpainting.ubf.pl

  • The technique is called Lumasol. Look it up.

  • what the?? WAAH GREAT!

  • Not fake, it's a pretty common photographic technique. They use a very long shutter speed, meaning the camera sensor is collecting light for seconds, even minutes at a time before closing to complete one image. Because it's collecting bright lights you get that exposure. The video is likely created by overlaying pieces of the finished image into the video. The entire process is pretty easy really.

  • This is no fake ! i saw galileo ( a show ) they show that this is no fake ! its the freeze frame system !

  • Gorgeous and extremely creative!...when are you putting out the CD?

    The Meltdownman

  • fake from after effects

  • @poeli1 i think your right..

  • How do you make a video of light graffitti? I've searched everywhere but no answer. How does he do moving images?

  • @terrellemail well actually, i dont know about this video but if you were to do it frameby frame, you get a camera, make the exposure longer, get a flashlight and draw in the direction on the camera lens (try not to get the light INTO the lens because it'll create a flare. it ruins it)

  • how the fuck did you do that

  • sweet feet!

  • Nice

  • how do you do it to where the light animation is happening but your not there doing it?

  • Don't u get it??? HE'S ACTUALLY PAINTING LIGHT IN THE AIR!!!

  • nice! Your website is great.

  • My friend and I are dabbling with light painting and we saw this vid. I was wondering how u get the movement of the light traced. In my experience the light is all exposed at one time and I'm unable to trace the movement of the light as it is painted.

My other question was how do you light paint when it is not very dark out? Do you just need very bright lights for a huge contrast or what?

  • so easy to do ;) this is just a good stop-motion

  • I like the Man Vs. Nature in this light graffiti art.

  • Super stylé ! <3

  • Magic.

  • i think its fake! look closly at about 0:19 you can see that the guy to the left paints over something thats about 5 mewers in front of him!

thumbs up if you see it to...

  • @KVfilms your probably seeing the tree in front but theres a pole behind the tree

  • Check out ''light painting love story''

  • I love how this video and other videos are fairly popular but no one is getting a responce on how to do this! LOL .... its like "Look what I can do! But not you! Buahahahahaaaa" ass

  • How has this NOT gotten more views! I will spread this as far as I can... but this is truely beautifull!!! Namaste! <3

  • WOW i like it

  • how you do this??'' what`s that? is a effect of computerour what? como rayos hacen eso que es?

  • how do paint with light when making a video? can't you only photograph it?

  • how do u guys do that. caus that is freackin awsomes

  • what the f?! how? :o

  • OMG! how do u do this!?

  • how do you do this??? O__O i'm still in the learning process of light grafitti

  • how do you get it for video?? i only know how to do it with photography

  • how does it work?

  • OMG. This is NOT taken using a dslr. Its wheere you take a video of you doing that, and use a effect called echo in after effects

  • I love it *(:

  • that must have taken a lot of patentce and editing.

    good stop motion.

  • wie gehtn das, kanns ma jmd für deppen erklären xD?

  • lange belichtungszeit ind er kamera.D

  • Hey everyone all i know is its called Lumasol check it out

  • Its not though its not a bunch of pictures put together, If it was they would be blurry im not sure how this is done but it has to be a video camera because the can make smooth strokes without them blurring out i wanna know how they do it with video

  • what is the longest shutter speed you can get?

  • until the battery dies, if you use the bulb setting

  • why dont your image stays and get frozen in the frame, like light does, you are moving too.?????

  • @amarbir22

    maybe because it's after effects?

  • @dermonkey ignorant idiot.....its called long exposure....i hate people that think everything is fake

  • @dontFwithJoe lol yeah sure. maybe you do a little research before you call me ignorant...

  • @amarbir22 it only cathes bright light. notice how they are wearing dark clothing.

  • @amarbir22 aftereffects

  • @amarbir22 Probably had 2 cameras a video and picture. Just add it to the top and some masking.

  • @amarbir22 Layering the videos, maybe?

  • @amarbir22 i think its just that low light emitting objects doesnt stick on sensor, i tried this trick using Canon T2i, and it works, no video editing is required.

  • @amarbir22 Because it's a special effect.... It's not real lmfao don't trip.

  • @twenty2ndmark

Its real, get a SLR or a camera with really low shutter speed, 1min or less, than try doing this with a flashlight or something, it works, i tried it :)

  • @twenty2ndmark It is real

  • @amarbir22

    video overlayed on photo?

  • @amarbir22 they probaly made those, but then edited it with an after effects program, so i looks like they are doing it

  • @RbmxR

No not exactly I tied this at home , with shutter speed of 10sec. And we did light paint, but it was a picture not a video, I dnt kno how they do it with videos !! but these are not effects !!!

  • @amarbir22 i´d like to know that too. How does that work? A video but the added light still stay after the guy went away?

    Amasing.

Wouldt be thankful for an answer!!!

  • @amarbir22 I think they map the luminance to stay frozen if it's over certain threshold.

  • Damn I only thought you could do this with a normal camera not a video one.

For all the people who do not know how to do this what you need is a camera where you can control the shutter speed and a light you can control. What you do is mount the camera so it does not move then delay theshutter as much as possible (this will help it absorb the light) Just draw what ever you want with the light and it will show up in the picture. just make sure you move quickley or else you will show and blur..

  • i know how to do it, but i dont understand how they made a video. do you by any chance know?

  • It is just stringing the various pictures together into a movie, like making an animated gif file. In addition you make the previous exposures "stick" - so that as the scenes progress, the previous exposures are not erased, rather all is added. Most graphics programs like Corel Draw, Paint Shop Pro, Adobe etc. allow you to combine photos. Thus the string of photos are added bit by bit. I've done it, but hard to explain perfectly. These guys use a special program I believe, however.

  • dude, tell me how they did this!

  • will someone explain to me, how this is done!

  • OHSNAP, this is a mad good one. :D

  • wtf?

  • This is done with a lumasolator or luma2solator made by Pipslabs...but I WANT TO GET ONE!

  • someone hacked the site...

  • Yeah uhh..

    That was SICKK. :D

  • i've seen this on tv and i tried it directly ^^

and it works i have a nikon d 40 and a led flash thats all. ^^

  • this is clearly no stop motion though.

  • no this is with a video cam .

i do this with my d40 who make normal photos.

  • the trick is u must longtimelight at the camera anable too film it etc

    my english is bad sry...

  • how did you film this?? its so sick...is it in adobe after affects?

  • how do you recored it?

  • @nikeo671 You can use something called long exposure on cameras. The feature is mainly on DSLR's but some digitals have the function as well

  • @sporkskill a DSLR is digital.

You mean point and shoot, I assume.

  • @nikeo671 Prob put the picture below the video they actually recorded and set the video to overlay to make it look like this

  • @nikeo671 it's an option, something about lighting time, so only light movement will be recorded... kinda hard to decsribe for me, sry... :D

  • @ShaaRhee haha thanks i got

  • @nikeo671 i think its just after affects to be honest

  • @tstsipp Its still awesome

  • @kylefran7 yeah its fun but i dont think you can make it live like they are doing but i do some my self just pictures tho

  • @tstsipp yeah im pretty sure with light graffiti you cant get it as a video can you?

  • @tstsipp its not cuz i made one too but they have like mini light sabers soo it makes it easier

  • @nikeo671 pleas answer takkuroha

  • its done with motion trackers in AE. possibly trapcode particular is used to create light sabre like effect.

it should have taken him some time to track all tracking segments.

  • woW.. thats totally crazy !!

  • how is that even possible

  • Stop Motion camera i think but it dosent look like that in real life

  • this guy is really good but i have been doing art drawing for a little while using just pictures but how do you capture this using video someone please help me!

  • This video shouldv'e gone viral
