New iPhone 3gs Ad - Copy Paste

Copy&Paste on 3GS was pretty nice on a mobile device. But the thing that is bugging me is they wasted 2 years on this simple Copy&Paste feature.

It's not like copy/paste is revolutionary at all. It should have been in the very first iPhone OS. Same with MMS. Tethering, maybe not, since the original iPhone used EDGE instead of 3G.

Apple didn't want to release everything all at once, but Copy and Paste would have been nice in the first gen. but Apple did a great job with it so i have no problem. MMS is not Apples fault at all... it's ATT. ATT can not support all the bandwidth usage on their servers from the iphone users. ATT is currently working on this

I think if you watch carefully all they claim is that the iPhone can c&p a lot more than just text, you can copy web content, pictures, telephone numbers and almost anything else on the screen. The Palm webOS and Android have weaker c&p, especially webOS.

Apple had c&p in their computers since 1983. They invented the X, C and V keyboard shortcuts. They also had drag & drop since 1984. So they know how code such a feature. They just wanted to come up with an interface design that matches the iPhone.

Since the 3.0 update is free nobody can claim that they held it back on purpose.

the 3gs is not for copy/paste, but for video recording and editing + integrated compass + voice control.

copy/paste, mms, tethering (and too many features to name) are also available on the 3g..
