yeah I think his sentence should be based primarily on his reaction at the funeral, if he commits suicide through guilt he should be let free, if he breaks into tears and forgives everyone honestly he should have life without parol, if he starts laughing he should be taken to a crazy house, and if he just sits their with that retarded silly looking glazed over look he always has he should be told that in the next one year he will be free but at a random point he will be shot in the head

Good ol Lorain county courts to allow the murderer to attend the funeral...Are you kidding me? In case anyone has forgotten ....Daniel Petric is the one killed his mother in cold blood....How is it fair that the family has to sit and watch as the person who murdered their love one gets to pay his last respects ?? That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard in my life....That boy needs to spend the rest of his life in a cell..

No way in hell should he have been allowed to go to any funeral service for his mother....In case everyone has forgot...He IS the one who did this to her....The lorain county court are idiots for letting this happen ...

I think the Judge Berta made a good decision. I didn't even think of the effect on the kid later in life and for closure. I thought he shouldn't see her but like the judge said punishment will come after his trial.
