  • Howdy..

Why does everyone comment your jacket ? ? Its your Burns guitar thats cool !

  • @bubba7208

Howdy to you to. Yes, I agree. I love that Burns guitar.

    Peter

  • Does the jacket ever get in the way of the strings? looks like it would. Nice jacket tho, you get that from Clint?

  • @Rushworshiper92

    Hi,

Yes, difficult to play with the jacket on, but it sets the tone for western music. No, I didn't get it from Clint but he was very cooperative when I recorded the CD with the Cheyenne theme on it.

    regards

    Peter

  • superb playing. Lovely guitar too. A song written in 1948 and still fresh today. brilliant!!!!!!!

  • Nice jacket there you have,Id like to have one like that..

  • @lemmycro

It took a long time to find the real thing, as it is a genuine western jacket.

    Peter

  • You rock pawguitar! there's another thing I like, your jacket. Where can I get something just like it?

  • @enchilada01

Thanks for your kind comment. The jacket is a genuine American fringe. It took me a long time to find one, but eventually one came up on ebay and strangely enough, my bid was the only bid, so I got it for a very good price. I had to get it as I needed it for the album cover shot. I have just used another pic from that shoot for the cover of my latest album out this week, which is Peter Williams Plays Country.

Thank you for enjoying my music.

    Kindest regards

    Peter

  • Hi,

Thanks for your kind comment. I am really pleased so many people have enjoyed this video. The guitar I use is a Burns / Marvin from Burns of London. They are around £1,000 to buy a new one.

  • Thank you. I'm pleased you enjoyed my version. Thank you for dropping by.

    Peter

  • how to play? please tell me :O i really like this song and im starting playing eguitar, but dont find a good "How to" for this version of the song

  • Thank you. The 'How to' part of learning a song which cannot be included in tutor books. It is all down to practice. As a guitar teacher, I teach how to read music, then show my pupils how to play the songs they want to play, and then it is down to practice. Good luck and thanks for dropping by.

    Peter

  • Simply, Beautiful... Johnny Cash's version is also my favorite.

  • Hi, Thanks for your comment. It is the Burns / Marvin. I'm not sure about the year, but I was able to get one of the first 50 which are individually numbered. A lovely guitar to play.

    Thanks

    Peter

    Peter

  • Fantastic.I'm a member of Margie's McCain Ranch and I love your music.

  • Hi Dianna,

I didn't spot your comment until now. Glad you enjoy my music, and thanks for the compliment. Margie is just fantastic, and a great site at the McCaine Ranch to celebrate Chuck Connors in The Rifleman and Branded.

  • Excellent playing and beautiful tone!

May I ask which amp you used, please?

  • Hi,

Thank you for your kind comments. I use a very old Ibanez Virtual Amp, which has the Fender Twin Stack amp mudule. This along with the specially programmed Zoom FX with The Shadows delay settings, and the main one I use is E1. These patches are still available from the website Sounds Like The Shadows Echoes.

    Kindest regards

    Peter

  • Thanks for your reply. I use a POD XT - this has a Fender Twin model, but I guess I'll just have to experiment with EQ/delay/reverb settings...

    Once again, great playing!

  • Excellent, your version is captivating/

  • Thank you for your kind comments.

  • Your right on that. So did you get this from johnny cash's sheet music?

  • Every song I cover I find the sheet music, then I get my track maker to compare the sheet music with the audio version of the song I like best, and create the sheet music for me of my favourite audio version. Then I can replicate that version using my guitar to replace the vocal line.

  • Whenever I learn a new piece of music I always source the original score in sheet music form. I find this has always been the best way to make sure you learn the correct notes. Playing by ear is ok, but you never quite get the accuracy. I teach people to read music and play the guitar.

  • So this is all sheet music?

  • Did you get this off tabs or did you learn it by ear?

  • I don't use Tab at all. All the stuff I play I read from the sheet music.

  • pure chrisp clear an clean, the real thing. Thanks Dad

  • Awesome! Greez

  • your version reminds me to traditional music from Bolivia

  • dude rad guitar
